Thought it might be good to see what people want to see as part of the opposing force, or as potential events and whatnot. Basically, if it's not a technological suggestion, stick it here. I've already dipped into a bit of minor crossover between X-Com and a few other media sources (EDF, Freespace, Elite Beat Agents), and of course if people don't particularly want this kind of bleedover, I can scrub those little bits and stick to content that's from X-Com or meshes more closely with its themes.
Basically, if people are interested in seeing what it would be like for giant ants to ally with genetically engineered zero-g native killing machines as well as xenomorphs and little grey men, let me know here. |

...Man it got quiet here all of a sudden.
No suggestions? Not even from the alien player? |

Well, I'm not too keen on boosting the aliens or having nature rise up against me. ; )
How about uh... genetically uplifted primates fighting on the side of the aliens? Human traitors? Neanderthals out to avenge an ancient grudge? Neutral alien mercenaries hired by Vuanaunt/the alien player(/s)? And once those neutral aliens have been hired by the aliens it becomes possible for the X-Com nations to hire them back? Or NPC nations siding with X-Com nations or the Aliens depending on amount of RU invested (of course there should probably be modifiers depending on game balance and realism) or hmmm... neutral or good alien races that interfere? Or good aliens with a not completely idiotic prime directive that tells them stop outright invasions who interfere on our account? (Notice how this is getting better and better?) More options for different degrees of allied victory between humans and aliens and aliens and humans? Coz I felt it would not be in the interest of my X-Com and humanity and out of character to accept anything less than a plasma tank as a gift for even talking since I don't think it's possible to cut a deal with the aliens while remaining in pole position as the lead party in an allied victory deal (or is it?). |

Well, I have no idea what the aliens already have or what their theme is. So that makes it hard to give any sort of suggestions.
I'm in favor of the alien player getting more toys when those toys are things I can eventually steal and reverse-engineer, though |

Sorry, I had a lot of urgent procrastination I had to attend to. I know it's not a real excuse, but I couldn't get myself to post when I felt like I should be doing homework, and I couldn't start homework. Anyways, since you've said that you're already drawing from EBA, how about we start establishing the rules for dance battles. No, but really, how about nonlethal Sonic weapons for the humans (Since you've been mentioning that alien capture is possible.), and Person of interest elimination for the aliens? I'm thinking the POI removal, would be a mission I could send down a small ship and... I don't know, petrify(?) someone important to a side. Either just for the moral decrease or maybe a small moral decrease and some other penalty like: Loss of industry leader, RU penalty. Even if we do ramp up the sillyness factor, I would like there to not be any Elite Beat Agents. I couldn't handle the morality of attacking one of them. The Aliens would have to withdraw from that country. P.S.
I'm sure we can introduce you to the wonders of paddle ball. |

One of the potential secret objectives (which actually the person I offered it to elected not to go with it) was to form the EBA. The benefits of fulfilling it specifically rather than a different mission gave their craft crazy detection and reaction range, made them immune to XP loss, and gave them a bunch of bonuses related to terror sites.
Now I know I didn't tell any of you what fulfilling your secret objectives would do, or how exactly to do them--but since this one wasn't being used, I figured I'd mention what it did. |

Wow, sweet mission!
I was too chicken to go with my third mission (not the EBA one). ;') Wait... I-I think it wasn't the EBA mission. Ah well, even if it was - the world isn't ready for something this radical~ |

How about some more functionality to alien bases. Like establishing superweapons (Maybe at the cost of visibility.)
I have all these bases and I don't know what to do with them! |

You can't even by coy with it like I was? At least have the pretend like you're not heading there with a chopper full of troops. If you must know, I'll tell you one per country, in exchange for the locations of your bases... [18,7] [39,9] [47,3] It doesn't matter since you won't even be able to see them until further down the tech tree. |

You know what's really fun? Plotting new Alien missions behind the Human's backs.
It's even more fun, because the Humans have to realize I'm being particularly underhanded. It's not like I hide my normal attacks. |

...I almost feel like an "OH U" image macro would be an appropriate response to a third of the things you say in these threads. Not necessarily a bad thing, of course, just a funny thing with your typical tone.
Ohh those wascawwy awiens. |

Here's a reference picture of what my aliens look like, in case the Humans are wondering what they're facing. |

I just want to say to Vuanaunt's banter is adding a lot to the game experience.
Also since I've been looking at Japan, I've been wondering how long it'll be until the alien player can field kaiju. |
