I don't know if all of you know this about me or not, but I get podcast fever every couple of weeks. This includes a strong desire to have one of my own. What it would be about is not entirely clear even to me, but it would make sense for it to be about videogames, anime, and other such nerdery.

In my mind the structure of discussion would go something like:

- Anime that people are currently watching + impressions/thoughts
- Games that people are currently playing + impressions/thoughts
- Other media that people are currently consuming + impressions/thoughts (?)
- General topics that relate to these other things but would change week to week such as a particular piece of news or current issue going on.

Well, that's just a starting point. These things tend to be refined after they've started. Anyway, I'm posting this to see if anyone's interested in participating in this experimental podcast or if anyone has any ideas that might make it cool.

Additionally, I wonder if anyone knows of a good (free) program that can record skype conversations, as I think that's how we'd do this.

One last thing: Just if you're curious where I'm coming from with all this, these are the two podcasts I enjoy the most and listen to every week (or second week as the case may be). The vision I have for my own would probably be pretty similar to these:

ListenUP: 1UP.com's weekly podcast. They cover games and game news pretty well and I like the people they usually have on there.

Out Of The Game: Several former game journalists who now work more on the development side of things discuss not only games, but various other things. I like it because the people on it generally have pretty interesting insight and always have something intelligent to say. This one's probably my true favourite, but it's got almost no structure to it at all. It's basically a recorded conversation. Who knows, maybe that's a good thing.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think and if you listen to any podcasts you think I might enjoy, point me in their direction. I'm always on the lookout for something new to listen to while I put together my webcomics.

If you're at all into games, I'd suggest listening to one of those ones I posted. Usually I like to do it while I'm also doing something else. Like drawing or playing a non-story-intensive game (or just level-grinding in a story-intensive game :P). Makes me feel like I'm getting more out of my time. B)

Okay, so it really looks like you just can't get a free one that does everything I want it to do, so I'm gonna go with Pamela, which seems the most efficient. Additionally, it's got a 30 day trial so I can see if I like it then buy if I want to.

I generally listen to 1UP and Fear the Boot. Fear the Boot is about tabletop role playing games.

I hope there's a status report for this soon.

Still waiting on a new mic for Ryuu, but additionally there's the problem of it only being the two of us at present. Which is fine... but I'd rather have more people than that.

well you know i'd love to help, but i can barely have an opinion on videogames, let alone anime.

but i listen to those ones with you sometimes, when i'm playing professor layton. other than that there isn't really a good time to sit and listen. maybe i'll just have to start drawing again.

That's not a bad idea, though. Well, not always Bioware (SORRY, ANNA), but one episode could be about Mass Effect or Bioware and Anna could be in it and the next one could be about a different game/anime/series/movie with other people who are interested in it and so on.

Good point! Let's say the cast will change week to week depending on what's going on or what people want to talk about. :)
