So a whole mess of people predicted this, and admittedly it was hard to avoid that considering it's a pretty common trope.

I mean, I spent how many pages setting up the meteor so it wouldn't seem like I just dropped it in randomly for no reason. What would the point of that have been if I just let it "miss" Avbaroy?

Yeah, it was going to hit, and having it not hit or having it just hit without any prior portrayal would have been lousy writing on my part.

Of course, as I've said before: The story here isn't what happens afterwards, because if you're reading this as a prequel you already know most of that (Those of you from the ABR threads, at least), but how it gets there.

And personally? I love knowing the ending to a story and then reading how it all winds up there.

Just so you know: Eustaria is supposed to be far bigger than that. It covers all the north pole and extends further downwards, on the other side of Avbaroy.

Other than that, in the space panel, the meteor seems to be going the other way around, from Avbaroy to space. I don't know why, it's just the impression I've got.

Yeah, the land masses shown are just brief vague versions, you'll also notice that Arcania is missing entirely, owing to the distance of the perspective from the planet itself and the obscuring cloud cover.

I'm not sure why you think it's going away from Avbaroy, since the motion tail goes from fat to thin in Avbaroy's direction, indicating travel towards it. What specifically is happening is that it's being pulled in by Avbaroy's gravity, causing it to hit the atmosphere and crash.

I'm surprised the window there didn't crack.
