Title: Website, sweet website

Lyinginbedmon - February 14, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
So, there seem to be a few scripting issues between Bio and Washu, largely involving the width, but otherwise the site is looking very good.

Reactions?

Guest - February 14, 2008 11:15 PM (GMT)

Sorry that was me. I forgot to log in.

Very, very nice! Best independently-made website I've seen yet...

Memnarch - February 15, 2008 12:32 AM (GMT)
I like it! B)

Epic_Commoner - February 15, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
yes, it is a good website.

Szilard - February 15, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
Cool, now I have this website bookmarked.

Mechafox - February 15, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
Me too. One thing, though. Could you put comic navigation buttons (first, previous, next, last) at the bottom of the comics as well?

Wolfman42666 - February 15, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
Looks great Lying. Try not to overload on purple though ;)

Nameless - February 15, 2008 03:49 PM (GMT)
It's very good Lying, really, I really like the overall layout and colours.
Who knows, hopefully Remember will one day become as big as Oots or CAD.

For the time being, I think you should start advertising.
Even if it's just a link or a banner on other forums, new readers is always a nice thing to have. :)

_Puppetmaster_ - February 15, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
The website is great, except for the fact that everything on the forum is blue.

Mechafox - February 16, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
Website's down :(

Lyinginbedmon - February 16, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
Okay, it appears we've definitely run over the bandwidth limit by 8.01 MB. From what I can tell, it'll either be up and running again in a few hours or next month...

Now, I could probably handle upgrading the account so we have more bandwidth, most likely a Meidum package which offers 10 GB/month, but I would kinda need some "aid" from the store

Jason Doomsblade - February 16, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
Do you also accept Monopoly Credit Cards?

Mechafox - February 16, 2008 08:04 PM (GMT)
I'll buy a shirt. Do you still have the logo shirt?

Also, website's back.

EDIT: Bought the shirt. Am I the first customer? Do I win anything?

Guest - February 18, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
Appears to be down again.

It's running for me.

Did you enter the address correctly?

Guest - February 18, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
Ah, better. I wrote in remember.uk (without the .co)

As it appears, you are the store's first and thus far only customer.

I'd make you a cake but then I'm giving even more away...

Here's a cake for you.

Lyinginbedmon - February 23, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
Didn't you already give that cake to Nameless?

Nameless - February 23, 2008 09:51 PM (GMT)
Can I please have my cake back...?

Memnarch - February 23, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
No, it's a different one. I have a cloning machine don't you know. ;)

Lyinginbedmon - February 23, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
You know, an oven and cake mixture would be more rational-minded...

DON'T BE STUPID! :P

Memnarch - February 24, 2008 03:22 PM (GMT)
Yeah, you should see the "oven" I used to make it.

Lyinginbedmon - February 24, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
In topical news, I've put together the About-Comic page and I've decided to give the Extras and Fan Art their own page.

I'll put it up with the update.

Lyinginbedmon - February 27, 2008 03:23 PM (GMT)
I better tidy some things up around here then...

EDIT: There, with luck I've just fixed the wonky width issues.

Epic_Commoner - February 27, 2008 08:56 PM (GMT)
Okay, I'm in the mood to complain about minor insignificant details...

You need to... no, nothing wrong with that...

You should probably... Oh wait, I must have just failed a spot check...

The inkscape and order of the stick links on the about the artist page are too similar of a color to the background on that page? No, that's probably too minor and insignificant...

:(

;)

Lyinginbedmon - February 27, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
Haha! Fear my ultimate computer skills! :D

Lyinginbedmon - February 29, 2008 07:59 AM (GMT)
Well, after my "accidental" messing up the URLs in my update has lead to a record of 67 visits yesterday (The previous record being 54 on the 21st), and the total unique visitors sprung from the late 100s to 223 in the same day.

So, see if I don't "accidentally" mess them up later. ;)

In addition, we've gotten 9 visits from Wikipedia so far, perhaps a dedicated page would draw more interest? Naturally I'm a biased source so I can't make it.

So far our top advertisers (The pages that give the site the most business), at Giant in the Playground forums, Loading.Ready.Run, DnD Online Games, our own forums, and Wetpaint's ABR Wiki. Direct address and Bookmarks are top of the category at 503 hits.

Nameless - February 29, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
I'm one of the visitors from Wikipedia :D

kpenguin - March 4, 2008 07:43 AM (GMT)
Oddly enough, if you google"Tim Maughan remember", the wikipedia mention comes before the site.

Lyinginbedmon - March 4, 2008 08:14 AM (GMT)
And strangely a website I have no knowledge of bears my name...

And strangely a website I have no knowledge of bears my name...

Really? So you're not the Tim Maughan of Tim Maughan books?

I mean, if someone has the same name as another, you'd expect them to be exactly the same person, right? AFter all, its not as if the world has people who have the same name as a another person and even if it did, they wouldn't both be on the internet.

Lyinginbedmon - March 4, 2008 09:11 AM (GMT)
Well no, but it's still weird when you find out about it

Nameless - March 4, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
Hay Lying, both our names have three letters and start with "T" and end in "M" ... We has so much in common...

Lyinginbedmon - May 19, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Aha! I've finally managed to fix the main scripting issue! Each and every page on the site now fits 100% of the screen width, rather than running over and being slightly nudged to the right.

As it turns out, when I originally made the site, the main section (The big black part that everything else is built on top of) was nudged 2 pixels to the right. This then mixed, as a matter of course, into the site details that handle how that base works and transferred onto every page as a result. So, I fixed it on one page, thus altering the site details, and then saved it and re-uploaded the site details and it's fixed it for every page.

Which with about 78 pages is quite a relief.

Of course, this might seem like a very minor issue to any experienced, professional, web developer. But I first touched Dreamweaver to make the website, and even my mother (Who is a very high-paid () web developer) couldn't figure out what the problem was, so it's been plaguing every page since the site went up in February. So naturally I'm quite chuffed I managed to fix it B)
