Appearance:
Aoife takes how she looks into consideration before venturing out into public...but doesn’t care how you feel about it either way. She likes to experiment with her wardrobe, often mixing prints, Eras, and typically ‘male’ attire like oxford shirts or ties….and accessories are the icing on the cake. That’s all well and good for casual days or band practice, but Aoife tones it down considerably (except for the makeup, really) when heading to her day job, where black with occasional vibrant color is your best bet.
-quite fit ( she thanks kick-boxing and her momma)
-has multiple piercings in each ear, a silver hoop in her nose, and another through her belly button.
-has a tattoo of a small bird of prey in flight on her left wrist, and a tribal sun on her right ankle
-can often appear preoccupied or unapproachable
Personality/Habits/Quirks: The girl will tell you exactly what’s on her mind, whether you actually want to hear it or not. Aoife is usually very direct with people, and occasionally a little too blunt. Focused and clever, she’s not afraid to use anything at her disposal to her advantage. She can also be moody and cold when angered or stressed…but she’s working on it. Really.
That doesn’t mean she’s an ice-princess all the time; Aoife is passionate about her music, loyal, and loving to family and the few others she finds have earned her respect.
She often takes to day-dreaming between all the practicing-posturing-and –protocol of the Household, and enjoys kickboxing to de-stress. // Aoife seems to be a complete slob, but there’s a method to the madness/ she’s surprisingly easy to distract even when already focused on a task/ Shiny things. Are. Evil. (see previous about being easily distracted/ is a huge film-nerd
.:A Peek at the Past:.
Birthplace: Sparta, New York
History:
Aoife is the only child to Maeve and William Murdoch, and heiress to her Grandmother’s Falcon Household…not that they let it go to her head, of course. Maeve (a white-phase gryfalcon and high-school drama teacher), and William ( a black gyrfalcon and real estate lawyer) never denied their daughter information about her heritage or answers to questions about what they were. Their rules were simple- Respect overall, study hard, and don’t tell anyone about their Falcon roots. Aoife grew up a happy child, but showed no signs of a full Shift to her Gyr-form until her twelfth birthday. With this occasion (thankfully at home), the family moved in with Aoife’s grandmother…In Ireland.

Branna, her paternal grandmother, had a large country home in Connaught Province; County Galway, Ireland. If that wasn’t enough to remember, Aoife was tossed into conditioning to one day be the future (well, if her father passed over the title) Head of the Falcon Household. Lessons, to put it bluntly, sucked. She worked her butt off to try and fit in with a new culture, as well as control her Shifting in that time. There were the typical teenage dramas, and romances ( actually, a few of those...), but Aoife remained slightly aloof and self-assured through it all. Thankfully, one of her necessary lessons was music, and her mother gifted her a gorgeous guitar for her 17th birthday.

Eighteen, on the other hand, wasn’t all roses. There was a question of power between the Gryfalcons and Peregrines; a loudmouthed Peregrine formed an uprising against Branna and her ilk, saying the old Gyr wasn’t fit to rule, and her son was ineffectual. After many legal battles( and a few out and out brawls), the Murdoch family maintained their position, though there were now doubts and rumours. In a move that could make or break them, the Murdoch Gyrfalcons relocated to another mystical hub….this time, back in the United States.

New Babylon was a place so different from the suburban, then rural life Aoife had lived. She got caught up in the culture and began to come out of her shell a little…it figured she’d have this bout of self-discovery when security of the House was tight enough to be stifling. So she went to school studying advertising. She worked. She Trained. And sometimes, she went out and ‘did her music thing’, as her dad liked to put it. But there was always the threat of upheveal and a call to duty hanging over her head. Some day it’d all be hers, and Aoife was secretly terrified. Something was brewing in New Babylon/ Everyone knew, and she’d be damned if her family went down in flames.
.:Prove It:.
Roleplay Sample:

Flying was a little like falling if she thought about it too hard. There was the weightlessness, the seconds of freedom before returning to earth…or conciousness. Unfortunately, her behind gave protest to this thought.

Aoife gave a squawk of discomfort as she fell out of bed, blinking rapidly when the light from the open window hit her square in the face. Graceful in flight, maybe, but she was more like a bull in a china shop when it didn’t count.

“Einin! You wretched thing, you’re going to be late!,” came the call from outside her door.

“I’m up, Grandmother!”, she replied, grumbling under her breath while trying to untangle the sheets from around her legs. Heaving a sigh, Aoife let herself flop back down on the carpet. It wasn’t SO late, afterall…Just a few minutes more to snooze…

“Aoife! Up! Now!”

She really hated this ‘early bird’ bullshit sometimes.
