Mara kept walking in the direction Serene had pointed out. The forest here looked much the same, though it felt colder. She could feel the presence of the other weres...they where here....somewhere...

Aleda roamed the woods aimlessly, in her wolf form. She enjoyed the nighttime air, the feel of the breeze ruffling her fur. Her bright eyes searched around her, looking for prey.
Aleda paused for a moment, sniffing the air. There was a new scent... |

Mara caught a scent in the air and crouched down. She stretched happily as paws replaced her hands. The scent became stronger....she began to follow the trail further...

Aleda crouched, sniffing intently. It was definitely a were, but who? It wasn't one of the pack, that was for sure.
Taking off at a sprint, she headed in the direction she caught the scent from. |

Mara began to run, enjoying the feel of wind on her nose. Her paws pounded the ground relentlessly as the scent grew stronger yet. She swore she could hear another's padded paws thumping on the ground...

She was getting close, she could feel it. Somewhere nearby was another were...and not of pack blood. Aleda was curious, yet also wary. What did a strange were want in her territory?
Paws thudding against damp earth, she quickly rounded a tree. |

Mara rounded a tree and instantly wished she hadn't. She smashed into another wolf, and the scent hit her as well. She leaned against the tree, a paw on her snout. Anger flodded her vains.
"What's the matter with you?! Is the forest not big enough for you?! You have to go and run into other wolves and scare the crap out of them?!" She bared her teeth and whimpered, realizing she was probably going to have a black eye. She stared intently at the other were, hatred in her eyes. |

Aleda felt her hackles rise in annoyance. Who was this little were, thinking to yell at her?
"This is my forest, child." She snarled, teeth bared. "Who are you and why are you here?" Aleda let her gaze take in the other wolf. The other female seemed strong and in good health. But what brought her to another's territory? |

Mara growled,"Don't you dare talk down to me! I'm no child!" She had half a mind to attack the other woman, but her last bit of self control held her back. She despised it when people treated her like she was just a stupid child.
"Your forest? What makes you so great that you get an entire forest all to yourself?" Mara calmed herself a little, putting her paw back on the forest floor. Who was this woman? And why did Mara feel like ripping her apart? She didn't know, and she didn't like it. |

Aleda relaxed her stance, but kept her guard up. "I can say this is my forest, due to the fact that you are in my territory. This is part of the pack's land, and you are trespassing." She stated, tilting her head. "Why are you here?"
Granted, it was in her nature to simply attack the other female, but thankfully Aleda had the training to keep herself in check. |

Mara looked down. She didn't want to explain herself to this stranger. She didn't want to open up to anyone, ever again. But stating her business must be done. "I was searching for the other weres. For you, I suppose. I've never actually been in the city. Only outside of it."

Aleda tilted her head. "Never?" If a wolf could raise an eyebrow, Aleda did. Interesting. "Do you belong to a pack? Or did?" She questioned. This was a new situation for her...how to take this...

Mara turned her head away. I did not want to get into this... "I did, once upon a time, but those days are long gone," she turned back to the other were,"My brothers told me not to go to the city, because there are vampyres here. Vampyres are the reason I'm alone." Mara clawed at the ground in anger and discomfort.

Aleda let out a sigh...well, as best as she could in wolf form. "Then you probably won't be pleased here..." She commented. "The pack gets along quite well with the Mistress of the City, Serene. Though, if you wish to speak to her or my father- the alpha- you are more than welcome. If you need someplace to stay, we can provide that as well."

Mara stepped back. "You- you're the alpha's daughter?! And Serene...she's the mitress of the city?!" She shook her head. Talk about a small world. That explains why I wanted to rip this one to shreds.
"I said my brothers told me not to come here. They're dead. So I'm not bound by their orders any longer. I will never be fully comfortable around vampyres, but staying here is far better than going back to where I belong." |
