The Rules!
RegisteringPlease post your audition for your character and wait for it to be accepted
before you register! We cannot stress this enough. It is really frustrating as admins to constantly be deleting accounts because people have not been accepted, or ditched after posting an audition. Once we have accepted your application then you may register and make your claims.
IF WE SEE AN ACCOUNT CREATED BEFORE AN AUDITION AND THE GO AHEAD OF ONE OF THE ADMINS, SAID ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION.Canon CharactersDo not change aspects of a canon character without our permission, especially age, personality, family, or religious affiliation. This RPG is AU so we are open to AU couples. Of course, we will not allow changes that interfere with another player unless both players have agreed (i.e. splitting up historical couples). No erasing people from history. If you do not marry your historical partner, you still have to have the male character's historical children.
Original CharactersOriginal characters are welcome, if you create one that does not fit with the time period, you may be asked to alter aspects of your character. Originals cannot be related to any canon character as we do not want to alter the structure of existing families. We realize everyone wants to be Royalty or Nobility, but it just will not be happening. Originals
cannot be royalty, or related to royalty, it is as simple as that. If you want your character to be a noble the staff will assign your title.
Child CharactersChild characters, meaning characters 15 years old and younger will not be available for play on this site. Any child that may be needed will be played through the NPC account. Really, we see little point for child characters, especially in our genre as they have extremely limited roleplay options.
Character LimitEach roleplayer is allowed a maximum of six characters. This limit has further requirements in terms of the specific types of characters you are allowed to make. If you want six females, at least three of them must be canons. If you do not want any canons then three of your six characters must be males. We do not play favourites here so please do not PM a staff member and ask to be except from the rules about male/female vs. canon/original rule. Please do not take on more characters than you can handle, especially if you are taking on multiple canons. If we see an important/essential canon being neglected, you run the risk of having said canon put up for adoption.
Role PlayingYou may roleplay in first or third person, but third is preferable. Please do not switch between third and first in the same post though as it is confusing. We have no word count, but please no short posts (less than five to seven proper sentences). Basically meaning, about one paragraph, with sentences that have at the very least, nouns and verbs. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation should be very good. We are not going to send you to the Tower if your posts are not perfect, but it only takes a minute to copy your post into word and edit it. Make sure you spell character's names as they have them registered (ex. Catherine, Katherine, & Kathryn). Do
not double post. We all know why people do it, and we do not tolerate it. So don't do it, all your doing is harming yourself and annoying others.
God-ModdingGod-modding is when one roleplayer seizes control of another roleplayer's character. This behaviour will not be tolerated. The one exception to this rule is children. You may God-mod your children as much as you want. Do
not kill or injure another person's character without the other person's permission. You must also have administrative permission too, mostly just so we know what is happening and that you are not killing someone without his or her expressed permission.
Once a character is dead, they are dead for good. You cannot bring them back to life. Additionally, character pregnancies should be checked with staff as we need to make sure you are following with site time progression.
Do not open threads for yourself and another character without the other roleplayer's knowledge. It is rude and will be considered God-modding. Always discuss and ask permission (and receive approval) before starting threads unless you are making them "open." No one likes to come on and find they have four threads they did not even know about. Be aware of this and be respectful. We don't want anyone feeling stressed and pressured to post.
Long AbsencesIf someone is away for more than a week and a half with out explanation, it will be assumed that he/she has abandoned the forum and his/her character(s). If the person had a canon, we will try to find a role player to take over the character. Please notify the admins if you are going to be away, this will ensure that you and your character(s) are safe from removal or you can alternatively post in the away board. Furthermore, we will probably start to worry if we do not see you, and we hope no one wants to cause us undue stress. Posting in the OOC area is all well and good, but does
not count as attendance.
RatingIt is Tudor England!!! Of course, there is going to be sex and violence. It was a part of daily life. Please be aware that such things will be happening, however they will not be blatantly displayed for all to see. The main forum is to be kept on or around PG-16. Sometimes a thread starts out PG-16 and you get going and find that things happen, no worries, go with it, but PM an admin to move the thread to a password protected forum. Members are responsible for what they read and what they write. If you wish to use an M-Rated forum, PM the staff.
GraphicsYou must have both an avatar and a signature. We don't feel we should really need to say this, but to cover ourselves, no pornographic images. Ideally, if your signature had a historic feel it would be best, but if your play-by has never been in a historic film or show, just make sure the signature does not look too modern (i.e. try not to show a lot of skin, no glasses would be great, and tattoos are a no).
You can have more than one signature so if you want a character signature and a couple/family/what ever signature, you can have that too assuming they do not stretch the page too much (either in length or width). Try not to stretch the board with your signature (signatures over 600 px get deleted). Signatures should be no larger than 600 pixels in width, an ideal and easy size to work with if you really need reference is 565x245. Please do not have a gif as your signature. Icons can be a max of 200x30.
ExtrasTry to follow these guidelines at all times, and the c-box rules. If you do, the administrative staff will give you cookies. We don't actually have cookies

, but we will love you forever and a day. We do however have a secret phrase "Always the Same." If you break rules, you will get two warnings, the third time is a ban.
Remember the reason to roleplay is to have fun and be creative don't lose sight of this while your on the site and just enjoy yourself.
Thank you from your administrators,
Ash, Nad, and Jay
