LORD STEWARD OF THE HOUSEHOLD: HENRY HOWARD In his department are the Treasurer of the Household and Lord Chamberlain of the Household, who rank next to him. These officials were usually peers or the sons of peers and Privy Councillors. It audited the accounts of the Royal Household and made arrangements for royal travel. It also sat as a court upon offenses committed within the verge of the palace. He sits on the Privy Council.
TREASURER OF THE HOUSEHOLD: Vacant In charge of the Treasury of the Royal Family. Answers directly to the Lord Steward of the Household and sits in the Privy Council.
LORD CHAMBERLAIN OF THE HOUSEHOLD: GREGORY CROMWELL The Lord Chamberlain is the chief functionary of the court and is generally responsible for organizing all court functions. Answers to the Lord Steward of the Household.
ROYAL SECRETARY: THOMAS CROMWELL' STEPHEN GARDINER Conducts the royal correspondence. Answers to the King. Sits on the Privy Council as clerk.
