Reykholt Outpost
The Reykholt Outpost is the only glimpse of civilization on the island; established privately, not by any government. A semi-maintained airstrip is considered the only safe place to land a plane coming in from the mainland. The small grouping of buildings consists of a hangar, a storage facility for incoming supplies, and a shabby kennel on the back of the main building which is a sanctuary for all travelers on Novaya Sibir. A warm, sheltered place to make business deals and interact with someone other than your dogs. This does not necessarily make Reykholt safe by any means. Dogs are bought and sold here, along with supplies -- both legal and illegal. Weapons and drugs trade hands here, along with wolf pelts and skulls headed back to the mainland to be sold where wolf-hunting is still outlawed. Reykholt is not a town. There are no houses, streets, or stores. Camps are ocassionally set up nearby. Dealers fly in on varying weeks to drop off and sell supplies, but have no permenent set up.

Northern Wasteland
Surrounding Reykholt and stretching northwards, this frozen expanse of inhospitable land is known simply as the Northern Wasteland. An endless sea of ice and snow as far as the eye can see; ravaged by bitter winter storms. High winds and below zero temperatures are your enemy out here; but travel across this savage land is often required to reach other parts of the island.

Timbermaw Fjord
The icy waters and steep slopes make the Timbermaw Fjord one of the most treacherous and epicly beautiful locations on Novaya Sibir. The clear blue waters of the arctic sea empty into the fjord as it cuts into the island, eventually ending with the Ísafjörður Timber sprawling out in front of it; hence the name Timbermaw. Ice-floats dot the open water in the depths of winter; and melting snow in the spring create intricate waterfalls down the jagged sides of the cliffs.

Ísafjörður Timber
One of the few forests on Novaya Sibir; the ground in and surrounding Ísafjörður isn't permanently frozen, thus allowing trees to grow. Ísafjörður is a relatively young and sparse forest, filled with lush spruce and ocassional cedars and dotted with other tundra-like vegetation in some areas, such as mosses and lichens. North of Reykholt, and bordering on the large Timbermaw Fjord, the Ísafjörður is a near perfect habitat for the animals on Novaya Sibir -- making it a favorite for trappers and hunters.

The Wolfspine Divide
A jagged line of mountains cut across the heart of Novaya Sibir; known as the Wolfspine Divide, named after the wolf skeletons found amidst the deep gorges, presumedly having fallen to their deaths. Composed of a series of larger mountains, the Wolfspine Divide overshadows a large stretch of smaller rolling mountains and hills that extend all the way to the northern shore. There is a single known trail cut through these lower elevations, as much of the Wolfspine is unexplored due to most travelers choosing a safer (but longer) route to the other side of the island.

Winterdark Chasm
Just the other side of the Wolfspine Divide, the downslope is more drastic, veering off into the Winterdark Chasm; a deep and intricately carved valley. Jagged rock ledges are carved out of the side of the Wolfspine, leading down into a darkened world rarely touched by the sun. Winding caverns snake in and out of the sides of the valley; a small hot spring hidden within for those brave enough (or foolish enough) to step into the dark. The other side of the valley wall towards the Hinterlands is more gradually sloping; characterized by more easily navigated ridges and trails, dotted with vegetation in the summer months.

The Hinterlands
From the edge of the frigid ocean, stretching northward, the Hinterlands are a vast expanse of nothingless. As inhospitable as the Northern Wastelands are, simply much larger and further away from the Reykholt and any hope of salvation. Crossing the edge of the Hinterlands is required to move to the western most half of the island unless an alternate route through the Wolfspine is taken, but few choose to travel too far into the heart of the frozen wasteland.

Northfall Lake
An oasis amidst the cruel landscape, the Northfall Lake is surrounded by a sparse forest. The lake remains frozen for most of the winter, but in the spring and summer it is full of life. The most diverse vegetation grows here, and the lake draws in both prey and predator alike to it's welcoming shores.
