Creating a Wolf Pack
Unlike most canine role plays, Ragnarok has a unique way of dealing with packs and the creation of them. The administration does not 'create' the packs and assign Alphas, instead, we take a more democratic approach and allow the players themselves to create packs as they see fit.
There are no official packs on Ragnarok or at least there never have been. Instead, all wolves are generally lone wolves until they find another grouping of wolves that they decide to stay with. These groups become 'packs', and can have anywhere from as few as 3 members to many more than that. Packs do not get their own forums because despite the fact they may claim a territory, other creatures will still cross that territory to follow the migration of prey species, and humans will always be treking across it as well. Packs may station themselves where-ever they would like, though. Be aware that if you pack takes up residence on the outskirts of, say, the Reykholt Outpost, there is a good chance they'll be shot at and chased off by the humans there. Pack ranks will be sorted out ICly amongst the members, and realistic rank challenging is encouraged.
Creating a Sled Team
As a human character, you have the ability to buy and own a team of sled dogs. You can either arrange for people you know to play the sled dog characters (or vise versa, if you have a group of dog characters you can arrange for someone to play their owner), or you can buy dogs from someone else on the island. It is generally the human's choice where the dogs run on the sled, but the player of the human owner should work with the sleddog players on organizing the 'ranks' of the sled team. Remember, a lead dog is not necessarily the top dog. In the Game Related forum there is a rank list of all the dog sled teams, along with a list of all the owned and un-owned dogs. The administration generally keeps this thread updated for you -- thus it is your responsibility to PM the administration whenever you have a change. Likewise, when you create a sled team, you must PM the administration. Sled teams do not have 'forums' to themselves, generally because their human owners have mobile camps and don't always stay in the same place. If, through the course of role play, a human character goes through the IC steps to build a permanent shelter or encampment, they may be given a special sub forum under one of the mutual territories.
