Marta's eyes fluttered open, and she slowly sat up. She still had a headache, something she could live with. She always had headaches now, she merely lived with them. She sat on the edge of the bed for a few moments, closing her eyes and letting the wave of pain wash over her before getting up. She took her time showering and changing, then made her way downstairs.
"Feel better, Marta?" Lily asked, smiling a little.
"A little, thank you," Marta answered, blinking as she spoke. She had a feeling she wasn't fooling the small pregnant woman. Lily shook her head to confirm her feelings.
She was saved by her vibrating phone. "Hello?" she answered it.
"Rose is fine," Jürgen said. "The cardinal is with her."
"Thank you, Herr Spielmann, I knew you would take care of her for me." She hung up and turned to Lily, "Rose is safe, the cardinal is taking care of her."
"Do I want to know where she is?" Lily raised an eyebrow.
"I had faith in my sanctuary, I still have faith in it." With that Marta went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
She went to the library with a sandwich and a glass of milk, ready to sit and read a book with her snack. But there was someone else there too. "Ian," she said quietly, feeling her face flush red.
"We need to talk lass..." Ian said.
