Now, here are the ground rules. I wish I could take credit for these, but I can't. I'll only take credit for the modifications I've made. I have been rping with these basic rules for more than five years, so I think they're pretty good and basically non-negotiable.

1.) Don't ask me tell you what to do! If you do something wrong, yes, I will correct you but for the love of God, use your own brain and stop expecting me to use mine for you.

2.) No "autoing" other people's characters, unless given permission. Autoing is using another person's character to say, do or think something that isn't what that player intended.

3.) No one-word or one-sentence posts. That wastes space and time. And pisses me off too! Don't post crap - like a little tiny post of a sentence or two that we can't use for anything - it will only serve to annoy people and piss the HELL out of me, the owner, and you will feel my wrath - so let's just save us both the trouble, shall we?

Please use proper English spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I can accept British spellings (i.e. color=colour, etc.), but if you totally mangle your post with bad spelling, it just bothers me. The spell checker is your friend--so please use it! Also, proofread your posts before you post them. There is a preview button, so you can see what your post is going to look like when you post. I use it, please do the same. ;D

4.) Please, PLEASE post! I understand everyone has a life, but understand that this is a role-playing game. The story goes on--and is fun--only as long as the members post. If things slow down, I blow stuff up. If you're going to be gone a long period of time, let us know. If a player is absent for more than 4 weeks, without first letting the owner know of the absence, then that character will be considered forfeit and therefore his or her fate will be up to the owner/moderator(s).

Also, don't give me the excuse I don't know what to post, or there isn't anything or anyone to do it with, we have so many characters, that's unreal!

5.) No "God" characters. You may believe in God or in another higher power; either way, your character is NOT IT!!! No one can go into a room with 20 Reavers, enter Niska's skyplex and all his soldiers, or get involved in a firefight and not get hit, and body armor doesn't protect you from EVERYTHING!!! Get real, people! I hate "God" characters, and they will get zapped.

6.) Made-up characters, including "Academy" students, are limited to 2 weapons specializations in the beginning, unless otherwise specified by the moderator(s). For example, a character can be a blades master and a master of disguise, which is a weapon, but can't be a computer hacker too. That's way too much crap and can lead to "God" Characters, which I hate.

And yes, psychic powers are allowed, but if your character has a psychic power, it's considered a weapon specialization and you're allowed one more specialization. Anything more--see above point about "God" Characters. Also, psychic characters are limited to choosing one of the following: telekinesis, telepathy, and empathy. Finally, even with psychic abilities, there are weaknesses. Look at River...she's a living weapon, but she's unstable as hell. Perfect example!

One final caveat to character creation--your character must be from a planet or moon in the Firefly/Serenity 'verse. You can create a city or place, but it has to be on a planet or moon in the 'verse. See the map and the planet list for reference.

7.) Please NO SPAM!!! I don't know about anyone else, but I don't appreciate being spammed in a group--or the group being used to increase other's profits. I've seen it all, even obscene spam in Christian groups. If a member joins this board to spam, flame, or basically harass people, especially with obscene words or pics, THEY WILL BE KICKED OUT!!! In addition, THEY WILL BE REPORTED!!! This is the ONLY warning you get on this one.

8.) If any two players have a dispute, they should try and work it out outside of the Game Board, and if they are unable or unwilling to work it out civilly, the moderator(s) will step in and render a decision. Owner/Moderator(s)' decisions are final.

I will add this rule also, which should be first and foremost. Have fun! This is a game, nothing personal. If a decision is made against you, it doesn't mean we are "out to get you." It just means we made a judgment call and it was against you.

Also, please be nice to other members. Flaming or harassing isn't nice and makes the game not be fun for everyone. This is why I hate "God" characters, it doesn't make the game fun, just pisses everyone off. So follow these and we'll all play nice and HAVE FUN!
