Who is to blame?

Human beings for being so ignorant?

or

Government for not making people more aware and not taking any immediate action?

I'd have to say both cos lets face it how many people still use non ozone friendly aerosols etc even after the government said not to just because it was cheaper to buy them ..

The government should make it illegal for companies to manufacture and/or import products that emit chloroflorocarbons. They have the power and so ultimately are the ones to blame. The public in general are quite ignorant, despite the governments efforts to educate the masses and i'm sure the people at No. 10 are well aware that people don't actually care, thus it is their responsibility to simply but a ban on it at source. I guess its a supply and demand thing, but you could say the same for cigarettes - consider the massive financial implications on the NHS budget due to smoking related disease, balanced out against goverment gains throgh tobacco tax. Head fuck.

I think the irony of the global warming issue is that people say we are destrooying the earth. Are we bollox destroying the earth, we are just destroying ourselves. The earth will survive. It will change and it will be uninhabitable for human beings but it will survive. One thing we cannot destory is mother nature, she will always win. Ice ages will come and go, as will nuclear winters but the earth will remain standing long after the human race has gone.

Yeah that's true.
The earth has survived through plenty of things for plenty of years.
Us being stupid selfish little creature's isn't going to destroy it.
Change it? Yes.
But there's not enough said about it and we need to be kept informed on how we can help.
The Arctic/Antarctic are beautiful places. And we're destroying them from miles away!

Well, the debate is on about whether there actually is Global Warming due to human influence. Could be that the rise in CO2 is just part of the earth's natural cycle.

I got taught lots of conflicting ideas in my course so I'm a bit undecided.
Ignoring the problem is probably not the best way to go about things, but politicians tend to think about the short term -i.e. what is achievable before the next general election.

Global warming. ooh. not nice.

The damn humans are certainly not helping things. Although i think the earth maybe in a period of global warming anyway (still coming out of the last ice age?)
Whether or not we are totally causing it or not, the way the world is at the minute has to change. This society we're living in is capitalism gone mad. over production and over consumption. the world is a limitless resource (and bin bag) to these people. Its giving us fatty's and land fills. who wants that.
Tellin ya, the only reason im even on this page is because i was watching tv and some programme came on and that idiot 'nicki' of big brother "fame" was the star. Pissed me off so much i had to come listen to Kid A through the headphones.

So in closing, global warming or not. Something's gotta give. In 200 years time people will be living in space as well as earth or not at all ( coz of an ice age or a nuclear war or a comet hitting earth. havent decided yet ).
