"Of course, maybe another time then," Marcus said. "Besides, in your line of work you'll probably get plenty of chances to look at ships even if you don't get to this time, right?"

"Oh, and you still need help finding your way back?"

With a sigh, Kerry agreed. "Yes, there will be many ships. Depending on what went wrong, I may not be able to make it back over here before you're ready to leave. I really have no idea what could possibly be causing problems like that in the passenger area. Everything there is designed with safety in mind."

"And, um, yes. It would be very nice if you could show me back. I seem to have a problem with getting lost on this ship."

"Alright then," Marcus said, getting to his feet. "This way, then!" And with that headed off down the path to the garden's exit, to lead the way back to Kerry's ship.

"Thank you so much." Kerry followed Marcus as they headed back towards Illiana. While they went, he tried (and failed) to make note of the way they went. Luckily, Marcus was distinct enough that he was easily trailed, even when Kerry's mind wandered.

"Aaaand here we are!" Marcus said with a flourish as he stopped in front of the passageway that led to the Illiana. "And if you don't need me, I think it's about time to find some dinner," he added.

It was very difficult to think properly with the doorbell going off constantly, the way it was. That particular tone hadn't been his favorite, out of the ones he had tried so far, and the constant repetition certainly wasn't helping. Kerry thought he had some theories about what had gone wrong with his enchantment, but they kept slipping away from him.

He had spent several hours pouring through the database, looking to see what it said about misenchanted doorbells. Sadly, while it had a great deal to say on the matter, none of it seemed to quite fit with what was going on. None of the remedies had worked.

Finally, frustrated, Kerry decided that he had earned himself a break for dinner. He headed down to the dining room at the end of the hallway to eat, since it was closer than the one in the crew section or his own kitchenette. He didn't really know what he wanted to eat, so he decided that he would just order whatever the last thing it had been used to make was. "Another," he said, and a human index finger on a bed of lettuce appeared.

After a good, long prayer at the porcelain shrine, two and two suddenly equalled four. Kerry realized that he had not, in fact, been transporting a cannibal in his space ship. "No," he thought, "somebody must have taken that finger and used it to..." after a dry heave or three, Kerry went off to find some cleaning solution. He had finger paste to clean.

Somewhere in the back of his head, Kerry hoped that he would regain his appetite before he started to starve.

After a generous meal (which did not, in fact, contain any human parts), Marcus took to roaming the ship once more. After an hour or so though of having a peek at as much as he could and probably some that he shouldn't, he retired to his room. He had an appointment with Master Sauris first thing the following morning and so needed his rest, he told himself as he settled down to read a bit before finally falling asleep.

Kerry wiped the sweat from his brow as he sat back against the wall. The noise had finally stopped, and his head was beginning to clear. His arms were a little sore from all of the scrubbing he had done, but in a way that made him feel acomplished. As chemical fumes danced in his nostrils, he slid over onto his side. Gradually, he drifted off to sleep.

About an hour later, Kerry woke up feeling rather groggy. Upon attempting to stand up, he realized that he was also quite stiff. He found himself unable to stand fully erect comfortably, and winced. "I'll have to clean that up later," he thought, in regards to the containers of cleaning supplies, as he limped off towards the elevator. "I hope some time in a real bed helps."
