Appearance in detail
For the most part, Marcus doesn't look at that remarkable, having no particular features that are odd for a human. Even his style, while unique, is not necessarily that memorable. He typically wears jeans or casual pants in neutral or earth colors, along with an oversized sweater. He has a variety of colors of sweater, though many of them are faded. Most typically he wears a shade of green, red, or sometimes blue. He also often wears a multicolored scarf, which he seems to posess at least three of. For footwear he favors heavy boots, regardless of how much they may clash with the rest of his attire.

Marcus usually wears his hair tied back in a ponytail, or sometimes a braid. He very rarely lets it down, though when he does it hangs to about the middle of his back. Finally, he has a pair of 'reading glasses' he's often seen wearing, though by all accounts his eyesight is in fact quite good.


History to Date
Marcus grew up in an ordinary middle-class family in the suburbs of a city in the Federation of Likeminded Nations of Central Yeziktra. As such his childhood would have been rather unremarkable, but for an incredible talent for music. Noticing this, from a young age his parents signed him up for various music lessons, through which he learned to play several instruments.

Around middle school, Marcus noticed he had another talent- the music he played seemed to be especially effective at relaxing or pleasing people. Curious, he experimented original compositions, and soon discovered patterns in the harmonies and the effects they produced. Though other than a curiosity, he didn't think much of it until a few years later, when he realized that what he had in fact been doing was touching upon the harmonics of magic and spellcasting. But though this intrigued him enough to do some extra study, he spared it only secondary attention as he had other plans in mind.

When he graduated from high school, Marcus surprised everyone by abruptly applying for East March, the prestigious military academy. He was accepted and even awarded a scholarship for some of his academic achievement. However, after his first year there, he abruptly dropped out and effectively vanished from all knowledge.

A few years later, he reappeared. No longer an ambitious student, Marcus had taken to living as a traveling bard of sorts. He had also in the time that had passed apparently studied magic in quite a bit more detail, as now he could cast spells as easily with music as many with incantations. He now spends much of his time traveling and finding employment from various clients who appreciate (and can afford) the unique effects and novelty of magic-laced music.


Skills
Marcus is quite skilled at several instruments to varying degrees. He is most proficient at the piano and violin and related instruments, and also has respectable ability with the flute. He has at one point or another played quite a few instruments and is probably capable of getting a decent sound out of nearly anything, but he is best at those listed. He also has a sense of perfect pitch, in the degree that he can tune nearly any instrument without the aid of a reference pitch, though he will still often carry tuning forks.

He has a certain aptitude for magic. How much of this is pure magical talent and how much is tied in with his ability with music is unknown, but he has shown great skill in casting spells he knows through instruments. Most often he uses magic that is intended to create certain effects such as relaxment for his client, but he has been known to produce other spells. Some of his spells are based off of researched existing spells, but others seem to be entirely his own creation.

Finally, as he did spend a year in military academy before dropping out, Marcus has at least some basic knowledge of combat and firearms.

And lack thereof...
Despite being a great musician, though it's certainly not horrible Marcus' singing voice is nothing to write home about.

Marcus tends to have a bad habit of spending other peoples' money.

He can be easily distracted by anything that happens to look "interesting" at the moment. Similarly, he's often difficult to shut up and sometimes prone to gossip.


Posessions
At present, Marcus carries with him a violin, a flute, a bag of other personal belonings (including such things as several sweaters, a few scarves, underwear, and a towel), and his wallet. How much money he actually posesses varies quite a bit, but usually it's not that much. At present he doesn't seem to have any permanent place of residence.
