The Enlightened School was formed for the purpose of altering the minds of teenagers who could potentially pose a threat to the delicate balance on which our society relies. The school is based upon the widely accepted principle that disobedience is a mental illness that can be cured if treated soon enough. However, since the young mind is so fragile, forced therapy rarely has positive effects. To avoid subjecting the children to this kind of shock, great measures are taken to ensure that the students are kept in the dark. They are to know that they have been sent to a boarding school because they have done something wrong.

There are two ways one can end up at The Enlightened School. First, the parents may send their child for any reason they see fit. Second, it's where teenagers who break the law are sent. Few students are actually dangerous or immoral. Most simply may have said the wrong thing at the wrong time, or some might have had a rocky relationship with their overbearing parents. It is also not unheard of for some to end up there on the basis of suspicion alone.

Here are the school's rules. You are more than welcome to break them, but don't over do it. Remember, these do have IC consequences if you get caught, so be careful!

1. All local laws are still in effect. Any disobedient student will be disciplined in whichever way the faculty sees fit. Only the most serious offenses will be grounds for expulsion.

2. Uniforms are to be worn at all times. For girls: dark gray skirt, white blouse, and a dark gray jacket. Boys: A white shirt, gray jacket, tie, and trousers. Girls must have their hair up at all times, and boys are to be clean shaved.

3. Any physical contact between the genders is strictly forbidden.

4. Under no circumstances may boys enter the girls' dormitories, and vice versa.

5. Rooms are subject to search at any time

6. The faculty and staff may administer disciplinary action for any reason they see fit.

Discipline:

There are no set guidelines for disciplinary action. Rather, the faculty may do what they want when they want, so long as the headmaster approves. No worries though, he isn't so cruel as to let them carry out anything too twisted or sadistic. Punishment is typically related to the severity of the offense and the number of prior offenses. Detention is common (and is carried out in isolation) as are the more mild forms of corporal punishment. No one has gone through The Enlightened School without being paddled at least once.

Teachers:
The teachers at The Enlightened School are not only trained to teach, but also to mold the minds of misguided youth. It's quite common for a teacher to set aside time with a student to discuss "class progress:" a disguised therapy session of sorts.

Classes:
The following classes are taught at The Enlightened School:

History: More like "propaganda." This is where you learn about how the old ways were corrupt and immoral, why people should not be allowed to make decisions for themselves, and why modern society is so wonderful.
Math: Numbers, numbers, and more numbers! Statistical analysis is not taught, such critical thinking skills could be dangerous.
English: For reading and learning about approved literature. Differing opinions on the text are strongly discouraged.
Etiquette: The most important class. Here you learn how to behave and what is expected of you.
Physical education: The purpose of this class is to promote health and happiness. Children are much easier to mold when they are content.

Prefects:
Nobody knows who the prefects are except for the faculty. Essentially, they are spies, hand-picked by the teachers and staff to report what terrible deeds their classmates are up to.

Roomates:
Your roomate is not just someone to live with. Roomates are expected to help each other improve, and guide each other along. You are partially accountable for any rules your roomate might break.

The Cellar:
All of the students think that something suspicious goes on in there, but no one knows for sure.
