No matter how wild Lynne seemed, she could still appreciate serenity at the right time and if she was in the right mood. This afternoon, she had traded her usual activity of acting like a madwoman and going out of her way to cause trouble for something much more peaceful. Lynne was doing nothing more than lying on her back, watching the clouds drift through the bright blue sky and listening to the duck quack.
Though, Lynne was still breaking a good number of rules, mostly without the intention of doing so. Before she went out, she stopped by her room to drop off her corset, that probably counted as a dress cut. Lying on the ground was not exactly ladylike, that would at least be worth a scolding. She also had not pad attention to the fact that her skirt had bunched up well above her ankles or that she ran th risk of getting grass stains on her uniform. Mischief seemed to follow Lynne, whether she wanted it to or not.
The sun got to be a bit to bright, so she rolled on to her stomach. Her mind began to wander away from the beautiful serenity of the moment. Was there somewhere she needed to be? Did she have class? Maybe. No, maybe not. Well, she wasn't about to go anywhere; she was perfectly happy where she was. Besides, what's the fun of doing something that doesn't carry a little bit of risk? Again, mischief followed her.
A lone duck waddled up closer to her. Too close. All Lynne could see were its orange feet. She wasn't particularly fond of ducks, so she half-heartedly tried shoo it away. The animal reacted badly to the gesture and immediately began flapping its wings and squawking in a threatening manner. So much for a peaceful afternoon.
