When Victor went out, he didn’t wait for others but threw himself into the thick of things. His friends would show tonight or they wouldn’t. Either way. Victor was going to have fun on his birthday and tonight that meant a night at the ministry of sound. A dance club with four dance floors, four bars, two lounges, pounding music, technicolor lights, and tons of people. Just the place to celebrate one’s birthday and have a good time. Which Victor needed tonight after the dismal day he had been having. His friends he could trust to try to brighten his day with their calls, texts and cards but his fucking parents? No goddam chance. There was no acknowledgement from mother, father or even his sister Fiona today. No calls, no emails, nothing. Hell, at least Uncle Rupert had called, if only to warn Victor not to embarrass the family during his celebrations. Fuck ‘em was Victor’s attitude as he danced in the crowd, grinding with some girl before passing her off to another and heading for the bar. Don’t embarrass the family, he thought sourly as he cut through the crowd and made his way to the main bar. The whole family is an embarrassment. Aunt Stella and the bus boy. Uncle Rupert’s ‘vacation’ with that minister. Fuck, uncle Rupert’s whole fucking life. Who the hell is he to judge me? I haven’t done half the shit he’s done. Just because he keeps it quiet does mean he’s any better. Victor hated that he was having these thoughts and quickly sought out a way to drown them. His old buddy gin. “Double gin and tonic”, he called out over the noise to the bartender. With a packed bar, it took Victor a minute to realize a familiar face had popped up at the bar beside him. Inwardly, he was a little relieved. Nothing worse then spending a birthday alone. Victor simply wouldn’t of course, he would have found someone to go home with before the night was over but it was nice to see a friend turn up. “About time”, he greeted with a grin. “I was starting to think you weren’t going to show. What are you having? I’ll get you a drink”.

"Something quick and easy, like most of those people you hang out with," Salome grinned, leaning in to press a kiss to Victor's cheek and wrap her arms around him in a tight hug, finishing off with a good pinch to his backside. "So a Glenlivet on the rocks will do--and what do you mean I wasn't going to show? Where you're concerned I'm always there, chéri. And if I wasn't would you really want to be there?" Dios Mio, it felt like she hadn't seen Victor in years, and yet it had only been...well the last time she could remember them actually going out anywhere together was for her birthday back in June. Lots of calls and texts and the occasional dinner of course, but nothing like they were used to in the first year of their friendship. Maybe we're both getting too old for this, thought in sarcastic amusement. The day she and Victor stopped clubbing was the day London fell down around their broken ankles. And if Victor knew about some of my recent conversations I'm sure he'd say London had. Salome hadn't told her best friend about her revelations concerning Jack, and she certainly wasn't going to go into it tonight. Like she'd said on his cell, this evening was all about him. "Do you remember that cute little redhead I introduced you to at that foam party? I could miss her birthday but not yours. That would be sacrilage." No, Salome wasn't that callous. She just hadn't had the time to pop in on Winifred's drunken ass and say hola--at least she had thought the message the Welshie had sent had been fueled by alcohol and not much else. With her coat already checked there wasn't anything keeping the Spaniard away from the multiple dance floors, except was this a dancing night, or a 'We're going to sit here and drink and reject everyone harshly' night? Either way, the night would be a success. "Who else is coming? I'll keep a game face on just for you."

Not one to miss a good party, Joseph Devlin decided that he would take up Victor’s invite out to the ministry of sound. He didn’t know what the occasion was but with Wellington, did there need to be an occasion? The man liked to party and it had been too long since Joseph had gone out with him. The neon lights and ear drum busting music weren’t Joseph’s scene at all but as he watched a small group of girls tear it up on the dance floor, he remembered why he bother to go to these places. Hell, get the Irishman drunk enough and he would soon be out there with the ladies. Let’s getting working on that, Joseph thought to himself as he tried to find the bar. Christ almighty this place is loud. Where the fuck–Ah thar she blows. Joseph grinned as he spotted the bar, the grin getting even wider as he spotted Victor and Salome among the crowds. | QUOTE (Salome) | | "Who else is coming? I'll keep a game face on just for you." |
“Game face eh? Now what does that look like?” Joseph remarked loudly as he approached the pair from behind. “Long time no see Salome”, he added, not subtle at all as he checked her out. “You’re lookin’ good”. He glanced at Victor and added jokingly, “Can’t say the same for you ya ugly bastard”. The quicker Joseph got a drink in him, the more comfortable he would be so he elbowed his way a little closer to the bar. “Whiskey. Whatever brand, just not the expensive shit”, he told the bartender before he turned back to the duo. “So, what’s the occassion? Or are we just out to get ossified tonight?”

When Donnie mentioned that Victor had invited them out, Maggie had to debate it all of a second before saying what a great idea and running off to get dressed. As they maneuvered their way through the crowd Maggie was realizing it was a stupid idea. She felt so... dorky among all the crowd. This was not her scene and the only thing that had gotten Maggie to even come out was the residual crush she had on Victor. Again, stupid. The handsome young man was way, way, way out her league and Maggie knew it yet still she was here. This is pathetic, she thought but Maggie pushed the thought aside. It was a dance club, they were here to have fun! She refused to be down tonight! There had been enough of that this past month. Maggie felt like she had been moping since Canada day. "I don't see Victor", she said, nearly yelled, to Donnie over the noise. "Do you want to go get a drink?" Yeah, a drink. That would make everything better, right? Maggie had been operating under than principle a lot lately and so she made a bee line for the bar, assuming that Donnie was coming behind her. With alcohol on her mind, Maggie totally missed seeing Victor but she did spot Salome through the crowd at the bar. Getting herself a screwdriver (the drink, not the tool) and went up to Salome which was when she saw Victor and the other young man. "Hi", she greeted them brightly....and felt like a tool herself. "Donnie and I just got here and--" Maggie glanced over her shoulder, trying to find her roommate. "Oh... I think I lost him somewhere along the way".

The invitation to go out tonight had annoyed Donnie, just more of Victor’s bullshit snobby attitude but having no better offers, Donnie had agreed to go. He thought about backing out but seeing Maggie get so damn excited about it changed the Scot’s mind. Apparently Kriz’s words about Victor and Maggie might have a little truth to them. Once Tadeas had learned about Donnie moving into Maggie’s flat, the Scot had gotten a earful about it from Tad. A lot of talk about how crazy Maggie was, not to believe anything she said and then the bragging. Which Donnie still didn’t believe and honestly didn’t give a fuck. Maggie was nice and he had his own place finally. The rest didn’t matter to Donnie. Walking through the club with Maggie, Donnie was bobbing along to the music and wondering just how long he’d be able to put up with Victor tonight when Maggie mentioned the name. “He’ll be fuckin’ late, knowin’ him”, Donnie said loudly. “A drink’s good”. It’ll cost an arm and leg though, he thought silently but Donnie was already prepared for that with a flask hidden in the waist band of his jeans, under his shirt. One beer would be stretched out for a while the contents of that flask. Okay, wishful thinking on Donnie’s part. The flask would last a while but if Donnie wanted any sort of buzz, he’d have to down a whole lot fucking more than a beer and a flask. Times like these his healing ability really sucked the fun out of things. Donnie tried to keep his eyes on Maggie’s bright green shirt as they moved through the crowd but naturally, half way through he lost her. Eh, I’ll find her at the bar. Sure enough, Donnie’s eyes found the familiar bright green top and low and below, there was Wellington. With Devlin. Donnie sighed. Of course. Whatever. He’d get one beer at least, maybe snag Maggie for a dance before blowing this pop stand for the flag. “I’m here, you didn’t lose me”, Donnie said as he came up behind his flatmate. Salome was the only one he didn’t recognize so he nodded at her in greeting. “I’m Donnie, nice to meetcha”.

| QUOTE (Salome) | | "Something quick and easy, like most of those people you hang out with," |
"Present company excluded, right?" Victor snickered before he returned her hug and kiss with his own tight embrace and kiss on the opposite cheek. "In a whiskey mood tonight? How butch of you", Victor teased Salome before putting on a mock thoughtful expression. "I don't know. Depends on how hot the other people are. At least I'd know I'd have no competition if you weren't there", he added, alluding to how he and Salome first met so long ago when they were hitting on the same guy. The bartender returned with Victor's gin and tonic so Victor put in Salome's order before the man was swept away by demanding customers. "A Glenlivet on the rocks for the lady".
| QUOTE (Salome) | | "Do you remember that cute little redhead I introduced you to at that foam party? I could miss her birthday but not yours. That would be sacrilage." |
"I remember. I ran into her at pride earlier this month. Her and her little posse. She invited me to her birthday too but I was trapped with Uncle Rupert that night. Our monthly Sunday dinner", he replied, rolling his eyes at that last bit about his uncle. Rupert could be fun but he could also be a complete snooze when he was on one of his 'Think about the family' moral kicks. Victor grinned bitterly, "Got my monthly lecture about being a good boy if I want to stay in the will".
He washed down that bitterness with his equally bitter drink as Salome asked about who else was invited. "Fuck if I know. I threw out a blanket invite for most of my contacts so we'll see who actually shows up to show me some love", he answered with a laugh but for Victor it didn't matter. Having one person show up made him feel better and having it be Salome meant the night would not be wasted. Whether they were shopping, drinking or cursing out others, the duo always had a good time together.
It appeared they weren't going to be alone though as Joseph came up behind them, honing in on the tits first which made Victor exchange a knowing smirk with the Spanard. "I bet you any money he tries to get in your pants tonight", Victor remarked in Spanish to Salome as he gave Joseph an amused look.
| QUOTE (Joseph) | | “Can’t say the same for you ya ugly bastard”. |
"You're just jealous because I know I'm prettier than you", Victor shot back at the Irish man sarcastically, in English again. "But I forgive you. Green is such a lovely colour on you. Goes with that accent". He raised an eyebrow as Joseph also went for the whiskey. "Is whiskey the new trend? We're here to celebrate the most important of occasions Joseph. My birthday. So yes, you may get completely ossified in celebration. Just remember not to puke on me".
Speaking of puke, up came Maggie at that moment, looking a lot better than when Victor had last seen her. She was even dressed a little better than last time although just barely but solid colours were always a step from t-shirts with cartoon characters. "Maggie", Victor greeted her. "I see Donnie passed on my message, glad you can make. You look...better".
| QUOTE (Maggie) | | "Donnie and I just got here and--Oh... I think I lost him somewhere along the way". |
"No loss there", Victor remarked when Donnie popped up and like Joseph, immediately went for Salome. "I swear I'd think this party was for you and not me", Victor said the brunette woman. "It must be the dress, which is fantastic I might add", he said before looking to Donnie. "And look at you. I didn't think you owned any jeans without holes in them. A little more effort and you could actually be good looking". That little dig out of the way, Victor turned his attention back to the prettier people, Joseph and Salome. "So what's with this whiskey thing?"

When Jia had received Victor's invitation out for his birthday, she had been more than glad to accept. She for once had no plans, and going out for drinks at the Ministry of Sound sure as hell beat sitting at home watching Korean dramas in her underwear. Besides, she always saw Victor when she was out clubbing and had yet to have a bad night with him. Never mind the fact that Victor was the only one she knew who possibly loved clubbing more than herself. Jia slipped her way through the masses at the nightclub and up towards the bar, her attention on getting a drink and finding Victor and whatever posse he'd surrounded himself with this evening. It never failed really, Victor always seemed to have a pack with him whenever she saw him. As her eyes found the aforementioned man down the length of the bar, Jia found that tonight was no exception. She headed down towards Victor and his group, a bright smile lighting her features as she caught his eyes, "Now there's the birthday boy." She pulled him in for a brief one armed hug and laughed a little, "glad to see you're still young and beautiful despite your age." She gave him a teasing grin before looking around to assess the group, only recognizing Maggie to whom she gave a little wave. The others were strangers to her, though that wasn't off putting, Jia had no qualms with meeting new people. "I'm Jia," she introduced herself generally to those assembled, noting the two men along with the pretty woman who she was sure she'd seen with Victor before but couldn't remember actually meeting. Jia nodded to them all with a smile before pressing right up to the bar to flag down the bartender. Lord knows she'd didn't just come to wish Victor a happy birthday, she needed a few drinks to make the night truly worthwhile. Once she'd gotten herself a drink she turned back to the group, "so, how's the night so far? looks pretty packed around here."

Hwayoung was a little more than surprised to have been invited to Victor’s party. Having only met him maybe two or three weeks ago, Hwayoung had sent him a message every so often just to say hello (and it didn’t help that she had a teeny, tiny crush on him. Maybe. Yes, definitely, it didn’t help at all.) She appeared in the Ministry of Sound, blinking as she looked at the people on the dance floor. There were so many of them! Hwayoung was a little bewildered, considering it had been a long, long time since she had done anything. It was the perfect time to show off the new hair, she thought – what with the little waves and curls of her hair that definitely wasn’t there when her hair was straight Now it was long; a product of a few extensions (though those would be removed in a month’s time, once her own hair grew in) with a shade of fox-and-auburn brown to accentuate it. She definitely looked a bit more conservative than some of the people on the dance floor, but she fit in quite nicely in the club scene. Opening her cell-phone to send a quick text message, she immediately smiled and sent a little greeting to Victor. | CODE | | Hi! Its Hwayoung. Happy birthday, Im at the club already. |
Sauntering over to the bar, she decided she’d wait – oblivious that the person beside her was Victor. Hwayoung smiled at the bartender. “Could I, um, get a Manhattan?” She smiled, paying upfront and waiting for her drink. Totally oblivious. She was focused so much on the dance-floor that she didn’t even know who was beside her. Then again, there was a large thrush of people there, and so it was a little difficult to see.
After a few minutes, however, where she noticed a group of people circling the man she was right beside, she had to turn around with wide eyes. “Oh! Victor!” She’d say immediately, chuckling and rubbing her cheek. “I’m sorry, I got here earlier but I didn’t notice…” Keeping mum towards the end of the sentence in embarrassment, Hwayoung could only cough into her fist, sip on her drink and smile politely as people talked. But she remained quiet, just to be polite. Also, she was trying to keep from embarrassing herself anymore than she could have.

| QUOTE | | “Game face eh? Now what does that look like?” |
"You'll have to stay around and find out, Joey" Salome grinned, cocking a glance then rolling her eyes as Victor went ahead and stated the obvious in her native tongue. Of course Joseph Devlin wanted in her pants; who didn't?! But want and reality were two sides of a very thick coin. Salome would look back all she wanted, but the Spaniard didn't think she'd do any touching. Not really. Well, hardly any. Joseph had seen Salome at a horrible time and hadn't tried to hit on her or be anything other than a gentleman. That kind of behaviour should be rewarded, si?
"Oh, Dios mío," Salome murmured, momentarily turning her face away from the walking redheaded disaster as Maggie came right up to her, and brightly greeted everyone before becoming a stammering little wallflower. How old is she? Does she not own one pair of high heels?! It may have been a crowded dance bar, but if there was one thing Salome noticed it was shoes. "Maggie!" Salome smiled, giving the Canadian an air kiss to either cheek. Her game face was thoroughly in place as Maggie's missing friend appeared. Through her smiling exterior, she passed Victor a look that reflected what she thought of his taste in associates.
"Charmed," Salome took a deep swallow of her whiskey. Aren't you Kriz' boytoy? "I'm Salome." At least the laugh that accompanied Victor's assessment was heartfelt as her best friend let his ever-present Diva show. But it came with a compliment--on his birthday. "I knew you'd like it, you jealous motherfucker."
The dye-jobbed redhead who introduced herself as Jia was a surprise. Salome had no idea who Jia was but noticed the little hand flap towards Maggie and resigned herself to asking the Canadian who this new girl was. However, it was the woman seated on the other side of Victor that caused Salome to take a step back, unsuccessfully covering up a rude giggle at the woman's act. It has to be an act! Dios Mio, is she really that stupid? "Now who wants in to whose pants?"
Tipping back her head Salome swallowed back the rest of her whiskey and placed the empty glass on the bar. With firm but slightly gentler movements, the brunette then extracted the screwdriver from Maggie's hand and passed it into Donnie's. "You'll hold that for her, won't you baby?" she gave the Scot a wink before smiling at the group as a whole. "The next round is on me!" Quick as a wink she grabbed Maggie's wrist and led her onto the dance floor. But Salome wasn't one who was content to dance on the outskirts. Without losing hold on the poorly dressed Canadian, Salome maneuvered them both through the crowd until they were dead center. And in perfect range of a light that made Salome's dress light up. Of course.
"Oh don't worry about your boyfriend," Salome finally turned to Maggie, practically yelling in the other woman's ear while also sliding a hand up the redhead's arm. The music was good, the bodies were packed close, and Salome was bound and determined to help Maggie. At some point. She'd been thinking it for months now at any rate. "Men need to stroke their own dicks for a while before the fun really begins. You know, we should go shopping."

Joseph just laughed at Victor and rolled his eyes. "Someone hasn't looked in a mirror", he muttered but Joseph wasn't looking for a pissing contest over looks with Victor so he let that green remark slip pass. "Can't promise I won't but I'll try not to puke on you Vic", Joseph jokingly promised. "Jeez, your birthday? How freaking old are you grandpa?" One good thing Joseph could day about Victor was that he knew a lot of pretty girls. First Salome, then the two Asian birds. Joseph didn't count the twerp with the glasses who came with Donnie, who Joey acknowledged with a nod. "Whiskey's simple, tastes good and gets you fucked up", Joseph replied to Victor's inquiry. "What's not to like?"
He turned toward Jia and flashed her a smile. "Nice to meet you, I'm Joey", he introduced himself to the smoking redhead. How was the night so far? "Improving steadily", Joseph laughed as he flirted. "So, what are you ladies drinking?" he asked Jia and Hwayoung, silently wondering how the hell a prick like Victor knew so many girls. Joseph knew why he hung out with the asshole but couldn't understand the appeal. He assumed there was some appeal. Joseph was so wrapped in the new girls that he hadn't noticed Salome and Maggie slipping off to the dance floor. The only thing he noticed about was Donnie holding the two drinks. "Think you got enough there to drink Don?| he asked the Scot.

| QUOTE (Victor) | | "No loss there". |
Maggie blinked, surprised. That wasn't very nice and weren't Donnie and Victor friends? Maggie thought they were and Victor had invited Donnie. She didn't say anything though as Donnie popped up behind her and he & Salome made their introductions. Yet Victor wasn't letting it go, teasing Donnie about how he was dressed and in a moment of roommate solidarity, Maggie spoke up. "I think Donnie looks very nice", she said in defense of the Scot, smiling at him to show she meant it. Which she did. He had showered, was dressed in clean clothes and looked nice.
The redhead's smile grew even wided as she spotted Jia, another friend she hadn't seen in forever Maggie realized as she returned the wave. That's what happens when you act like a recluse. She didn't have time to go over to say hello as Salome was already taking the drink out of her hand and passing it to Donnie. "Oh! Where--where are we going? Nice meeting you!" She called back over her shoulder before Salome dragged her to the dance floor.
She wasn't annoyed though as hey, they were here to dance and Maggie like Salome. Kinda. She seemed nice...sometimes...and Maggie had to admit she secretly envied Salome's confidence. For the short time she knew Salome, Maggie had never seen the Spanish woman lack from confidence and she was so stylish. All the girls here were! They made Maggie feel downright frumpy just being near them.
Maybe I should get some new clothes...boyfriend?! "Donnie's not my boyfriend", Maggie quickly yelled back. Goodness, couldn't a woman be friends with a man without someone thinking they were shacking up? "We're just friends! Huh?" Maggie didn't know what the hell the Salome was talking about, the stroking each other's dicks remark going over her head and half lost to the noise. She did catch one part though: Shopping!
"Yes", Maggie replied loudly. "That would be fun. I haven't gone shopping since Leonie moved". Which was back around January, which was seven months ago Maggie realized. Yes, she was certainly overdo for some new clothes. Moving to the music, Maggie was a little uncomfortable and self concious, very much aware of how the two of them looked together. "I love your dress too", she added, making conversation before a thought struck her. "Oh! Is Victor in a bad mood or something? I thought he and Donnie were friends. He seemed kind of short with him tonight".

"Go fuck yourself Vicky", Donnie replied brightly with a mock toast, lifting the drink to his lips. "And happy birthday". Cunt. Donnie didn't scowl but his smile was a little less friendly until Maggie spoke up in his defense. The Scot knew he could always count on Victor to be an ass but the past month and half he'd been living with Maggie he was also learning he could count on Maggie having his back and being nice.
Sure, she'd be complete and utter shit in a fight but as someone who grew up rarely ever hearing a good thing about himself, it was nice to hear Maggie saw something nice. That guarantee one person here won't be an ass or a cunt, he thought when he noticed another woman approach the group. Bright red and a fit body, Donnie didn't know this Jia chick but he was pleasant enough. "Nice to meetcha", he called out over the noise fo the club. "I'm Donnie". He raised his brow as Joey swooped in her but said nothing.
The women were coming out of the wood work though as another bird pipped up but she seemed more focused on Victor than anything so Donnie didn't bother to interrupt to introduce himself. How the fuck does he know so many women? Christ almighty, it's not just gonna be me, him, Joey and bunch of girls, is it? He looked around, scanning the crowd for any sign of the boys like Jacob, Tad or even that uptight one he saw them with, Jack somebody.
He couldn't see any of them and the next thing Donnie knew, Salome was pushing Maggie's drink in his hand. "Huh? Where are you goin'?" No man's land it appeared, also known as the dance floor. "Oh sure, run off and leave me", he yelled after Maggie. He might have followed but Donnie needed a lot more drinks before his ass would find its way to the dance floor. Then again.... Donnie's gaze dropped down to the orange and vodka drink in his hand. Eh, Maggie shouldn't be drinking so much anyhow, he thought before he lifted it to his mouth.

Jacob was late and it was completely Cordelia's fault. They had been arguing for over a half hour on the phone about whether or not she would come with him to Victor's birthday party. Ultimately Cordelia had won and Jacob had hung up angry. Then he dressed angrily. Left the apartment angrily. It wasn't until he nearly threw the cover money at the girl in front that Jacob realized what he was doing and got a hold of himself. So what if Cordelia didn't want to come to his friend's birthday party? So what if it sounded like she was hiding something from him? Again? He should be use to it by now, right? There was no reason Jacob had to let it ruin his mood. I'm not, he decided stubbornly. I'm going to have a drink, I'm going to have fun and fuck it. Fuck it all to hell. I don't need Cordelia to have fun....alright, he was still pissed but Jacob saw a solution for calming his temper as he walked by one of the many bars. He stopped, grabbed a cheap beer and started searching the crowd for Victor. I wonder who else will be here? Salome's a given but anyone else is up in the air. He half expected Tad but one could never tell with him as he might have some seedy criminal crap to do tonight. It would have been nice to see Jack but last Jacob heard, Victor was still on the outs with the other American. Huh, I hope Vic's still here. Oh, there's Salome and....oh. Maggie was here. Jacob hadn't expecting her. Shit, she's not here with Tad, is she? Another situation Jacob wasn't sure of, whatever the hell was going with those two. I don't see him. That made Jacob feel better and slugging back a mouthful of beer, he headed toward Maggie and Salome. "Hey girls", he greeted them loudly and cheerfully over the noise, bobbing along to the music. "Think either of you lovely ladies could direct me to the birthday boy?"

| QUOTE (Joseph) | | "Whiskey's simple, tastes good and gets you fucked up. What's not to like?" |
ÒWell now, I canÕt argue with that logic can I?Ó Victor remarked just before he noticed the bright red hair and spotted one the familiar faces from the club scene. ÒJiaÓ, he said warmly with a wide smile as he returned her half hug. ÒGlad you could make it and donÕt you know people like us are timeless? WeÕll always be beautifulÓ , he added with an air of mock arrogance that wasnÕt entirely false. Victor knew he was good looking and had no problems using that when he wanted to. He figured he might as well enjoy it while it lasts since youth and looks were not forever. Jia wasnÕt someone he knew very well, enough to invite her out because they ran into each so often out and about on the club scene but the particulars of her life remained a mystery. One Victor started to wonder if he should try to solve by getting to know the pretty woman better. ÒHow have you been? Do you know anyone here?Ó It was possible, Victor did have a wide and somewhat odd group of friends.
If she didnÕt, Jia was more than capable of remedying that it seemed as she introduced herself and wouldnÕt you know it? Joseph had jumped off hitting on Salome to take a turn at Jia. Not that Victor could blame him but it was amusing. While Victor was snickering at that, another woman was speaking up from off to the side. Due to the noise Victor didnÕt hear his cellphone ringing with HwayoungÕs message and he had been too busy chatting with his friends to notice her at the bar. ÒHwayoung, glad you could make itÓ, he said cheerfully when he realized who the fuck was speaking and placed her. He had almost forgotten she was in his contacts, the girl he had kissed at Starbucks only a few weeks before. Salome giggled and muttered something in Spanish that had Victor smirking at her. ÒOh please, who doesnÕt want in my pants?Ó, he replied in Spanish to Salome. He might have told Salome to play nice but where was the fun in that?
While Salome was dragging Maggie off to the dance floor, Victor decided he might as well introduce Hwayoung to the remaining others since he was certain she didnÕt know them. ÒLet me introduce youÓ, he said to the Korean woman. ÒThatÕs the lovely miss Jia, this rascal here is Joseph, the scruffy fucker is Donnie and the two that just ran off to the dance floor are Maggie and my best friend Salome. SalomeÕs the brunetteÓ. He almost said the Ôhot oneÕ but after another glance at the dance floor, he decided Maggie wasnÕt entirely hopeless. All she needed to do was learn to dress and ditch those dorky glasses for contacts. Just like a Sandra Bullock movie, he thought in amusement before he noticed Jacob with the dancing girls. Of course. Hone in on your helpless crush. Hm, wonder where your girlfriend is?
Victor wasnÕt too surprised that Cordelia hadnÕt joined Jacob as the musician had made it well known she didnÕt think much of Victor. It was no doubt all those times he hit on her when Jacob wasnÕt paying attention that cause that. Whatever, Victor had better things to do than wonder about little miss stuck up cellist or whatever the fuck she played. He turned his attention back to Hwayoung, ÒAnd how is the lovely Hwayoung tonight?Ó

"Oh, I've been a very busy bee lately," she told Victor with a smile, "Though I can see you've been doing well, or least that's how it seems." She winked at him, idly wondering for a moment as she sipped her drink if she would ever meet Victor somewhere that wasn't a club. Wouldn't that be interesting, she mused. Though, perhaps people like Victor existed in clubs, wherever there was thumping bass and plenty of alcohol there he would be. Jia shrugged off the thought, turning from Victor as his attention was called away by another girl. Wasn't that typical she thought with a little grin.
She'd wanted to say hello to Maggie properly but it seemed she'd slipped off somewhere. Jia shrugged at little, nodding to the Scot who introduced himself and gave him a smile. She'd have said something to him but before she could she was suddenly greeted with a whole eyeful of the smiling young Irishman. Her polite smile turned into an amused grin as he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, I'm Jia." She offered him her hand, one eyebrow arched as she looked him over. He was handsome, she'd give him that. Jia pegged him being somewhat close to her age, he looked it at least, maybe even younger. Though, she was exactly the best at guessing things like that. Leaning back against the bar, she took a sip of her drink. Well it's he a sly one.
"Cosmopolitan," Jia answered when he asked about drinks. It was a cocktail kind of night, for Jia at least, no sense getting hammered when you weren't the birthday boy. He was a bit cute with that cocky grin of his and Jia felt herself become rather amused by him. "Friend of Victor's too I presume?" She'd not seen him out with the man in question, but that didn't mean he didn't ride in the same rich socialite circle that Victor did. "You must not come clubbing with him often though, I'm sure I would have met you before now."
