Established: UK branch was established in January 2010; still a growing organization.

General info: The purpose of the Initiative is to help, recruit and train metahumans to utilize their powers for military and intelligence purposes. Naturally, this is NOT widely known and their public face is that they are a government run organization set up to help the growing mutant population with their powers. The Gardiner Initiative also offers metahumans employment but this is not widely publicized as the initiative do not wish to attract media attention.

Important to note: Currently there are no characters in the game that are aware of the true purposes of the Gardiner Initiative. Only those who have been interviews or kidnapped by the agents working for the initiative would have any actual in character information or suspicions about the. Mods will direct who has contact with this group.

Established: 3 months ago (a.k.a March 2011)

General info: The HPC are essentially a noisy bunch of protestors contained within London, UK. Though there are rumors of violence associated with this group that only represents a small, unsanctioned group discussed here. The official HPC has be peacefully protesting in public areas such as city hall and a mile away from Parliament. They’re pretty much like any protest group in London except their cause is centered on the mutant population and the dangers they represent.

The group was founded by George Stuart, a family man who owns a small construction business in Kentish Town. He formed the group when he grew concerned about mutants holding positions and jobs in areas such as hospitals, schools, police, etc. Basically anywhere that requires public service and where accidental power use could be devastating. While some of his followers are prejudiced against the mutation itself for religious or personal reasons, George publicly maintains that his desire for mutant registration is only for the public’s safety.

The HPC has recently gotten a few local celebrity supporters, most notable Margot Johannes, a former model, current heiress and all around lime light hog. She’s often in the society pages and gossip rags, attending major functions within London and has recently come out in support of registration in interviews. She has also had a hand in the HPC’s recent bout of fund raising.

Important note: Characters can witness the HPC protests but any acts of violence or confrontation between this NPC group and the characters must be cleared with the mods first. We’re cool with confrontations but as they could have widespread affects, we want to have players check with us first.

(UNOFFICAL CHAPTER)

Aliases: The HPC
Established: 2 months ago (a.k.a April 2011)

General info: When Mason's friend George Stuart first proposed the formation of the HPC, Mason was a strong supporter but after one month it became clear Mason & George had very different ideas on how the mutant problem should be 'handled'. George believed that using the public voice and public protests were the way to ensure registration and raise awareness. Mason believed the freaks should be rounded up and imprisoned till a solution could be found. This difference caused a huge fight and Mason split off to form his own HPC group. They are more proactive in their protest.

Headed by Mason and partly run by his daughter Eliza, the unofficial HPC is composed of citizens who believe it's their duty to root out the mutants and have started watching & keeping tabs on those they suspect to be mutants or mutant sympathizers. The most that this group has done is a stalking and harassing a few mutants and spreading hate filled graffiti around London. Some do occasionally take part in the protests and others have falsely claimed to be connected to Leon Forrester's death (Link 1).

» METAHUMAN LAW ENFORCEMENT & PROTECTION AGENCY «

Leaders: Darcy Kingston
Aliases: The Agency
Established: July 2010

General info: An off the books organization called the Metahuman law enforcement and protection agency or the Agency, this group was set up secretly by the government to monitor, protect and uphold the laws discreetly. Essentially a government funded superhero group without the costumes or capes. It is still in its early stages and the formation of this groups rests heavily on the shoulders of the first recruit and leader, Darcy Kingston.

Currently Darcy is the sole member and is working on recruiting others to join his cause while also starting his crusade to protect the streets of London.

Important note: If players wish to be involved with this group, the must contact Tegan, the player for Darcy Kingston as she created it.

» NO NAME (OMAR'S RESEARCH GROUP) «

Aliases: Omar's Lab rats
Established: December 2010

General info: The formation of this group began with the chance meeting of Omar Jain and Ursula Egan on Christmas Eve, 2010. It had a slow start with just consisting of Omar and Ursula from December to March but with the hacking of the CCTV system, Omar and Ursula have added more mutants to this group. Or at least informally spread the word about Omar's research.

The main objective of Omar's research is to discover what has been causing the mutation but he has also discussed the possibilities of curing the mutation. As of May 2011, Omar has collected some blood samples from various mutants and there has been a large, informal meeting.

Important note: If anyone would like to have anything to do with Omar's research group or have your character know about it, please contact the player for Omar Jain via PM. They have final decision over what is known/happens with Omar's research.
