A new Page for Paige!

Walking through the Crystal Shoals was Paige. The water was very shallow and there was a long wide expanse of sand, enabling trainers to pass through without necessarily getting their feet wet. At the deepest points the water was only knee-deep. The sky was getting a little dark, after all, she'd been very late to arrive at the laboratory, so it was only logical the sun was setting now that she finally arrived at the Crystal Shoals.

She wasn't wearing the same outfit any more. She had changed it for knee-high trousers and a sweater, combined with a bodywarmer. Instead of high heels she was now wearing comfortable walking shoes. Much more suitable for an area like this!

As the wind tousled her hair she began walking more slowly. Tucking the wild strands behind her ears she looked around. 'Hmm, I wonder if there are any Pokémon nearby..' Paige thought to herself. For as far as she could see, there was none to be spotted. Were they all hiding? Or did Pokémon just go to sleep early?

As Paige walked, something began to glow red in the distance. It faded on and off, like the power light on a Mac when it goes to sleep.

What was that odd light?

At first Paige didn't notice the light, but then after a couple of minutes she finally saw something flash red in the distance. 'How odd. I wonder what that could be.', she thought. Well.. there was only one way to find out. She had to track down the source of that light. And meanwhile.. well, she could try making friends with her new Pokémon!

So with that, she grabbed the Pokéball that was clicked to a belt at her waist. Clicking the small button in front, the Pokéball enlarged about four times it previous size. Then, clicking again, the ball opened. A red flash appeared, changing size and morphing into her Fione.

"Hi Dewdrop, I'm your new Trainer.", she told the Fione. The blue Pokémon blinked a couple of times, before smiling back at Paige. "I've seen a strange red light up ahead, let's investigate where it comes from.", she informed her Pokémon. The Fione nodded excitedly, she had been locked inside the Pokéball ever since she was captured, and was looking forward to a new adventure.

With that, they both went to investigate the light source in the distance. Dewdrop was floating next to Paige's shoulder. Every once in a while, Paige would talk a little to her. Telling her where she came from, what she wanted to become and so on. Also, small things like her favourite colour and general likes and dislikes. So they got to know each other a little better..

You soon come upon the light, and it turns out that it's a bunch of who were lounging in the shoals. Their cores flash on and off rhythmically. It's a beautiful thing to see, all of them living in harmony like that. The water around them glows an eerie red.

"PhiPhi," says Dewdrop. It wants to go meet the Staryu.

Paige stares in awe at the beautiful sight of Staryu, flashing their cores rhythmically. For a moment she just stares at them, then suddenly is pulled out of her trance by Dewdrop, her Fione.

"Sure you can go over there and meet them. But be careful, I'm not sure if they're friendly." Paige tells her. After all, maybe they are forming breeding pairs or something, and don't want anyone to disturb them. Although she's not sure if that's even possible with a Pokémon that's officially genderless.. However, it's still a good idea to be careful..

Fione... um... walks into the water and over to the Staryu. The red jewel on its chest starts glowing too. It's trying to play with them!

The Staryu don't seem too bothered by Fione. In fact, a few of them glide over to meet it. They converse for a while in a language you can't understand before Dewdrop waves goodbye and starts making its way towards you. A Staryu follows it.

Paige welcomes her Fione back with a hug, she's already crazy about her Pokémon! Then she notices the Staryu that followed her Pokémon. 'What does it want..?', she wonders. Releasing her hold on Dewdrop, Paige turns to the Staryu.

"Hi there.." she greets the Pokémon. "Is there something you want?" she asks it, large eyes blinking curiously. She might as well have said nothing, after all, even if the Staryu understands what she's saying, she won't understand the Staryu! Sometimes she wishes she could understand Pokémon language, it would make life a whole lot easier.

Staryu picks itself up to stand on two of its five arms. It walks awkwardly over to you, and you notice that it's a much bigger Pokemon than it seemed initially. It comes up to your waist when it's standing up.

Staryu uses another of its arms to point to your bag. Maybe it wants to join you on your journey?

As soon as Paige realises what the Staryu is trying to say, her face lightens up and she smiles widely. "Do you really want to come with me?" she asks, completely failing to hide her excitement. Staryu is one of her favourite Pokémon! How lucky can a person be to just.. have a Pokémon like this wanting to join?

Opening her bag, she selects an empty Pokéball. She holds the Pokéball down so Staryu could easily touch it if it wanted to. "If you want to join me and Dewdrop, just touch the white button and you'll be our new friend." she continues, hoping the Staryu will do just that..

Staryu tapped the button and is sucked inside.
