"Culture of the mind must be subservient to the heart." --- Mahatma Gandhi

PenBridge is a literary and a journalistic association of determined, imaginative professional/non-professional writers. Our group was not founded to degrade, demean, nor put insult to any individual, institutions, literary works, and authors. This is not a group that persuades people to protest against a government or an administration in the government, like other smart-a-leak fundamentalist radicals do.

However, we will never close our door to entertain any comments and reactions on the country's political and socio-economic environment.

Whatever subjects written by any recognized member in this organization is an expression of freedom. The pen is the bridge to freedom. We live by our mantra.

A need to score

During the round table discussion, the organization came up with a single objective, to simply give emphasis on the beauty and craftmanship of fiction and non-fiction writings. You know, just the usual stuff that you hear from organizations like this. biggrin.gif We use the internet as our mass medium for the fulfillment of this nonsense objective, though internet writing is considered a second class art form like television writing.

The literary write-ups that you can read from our rockety-rickety website are merely ideas, logical ideas of our writers. Our organization considers every opinion, and point of view as the stand of our writers and is independent on its own.

To question the credibility of our organization and its members is not a delicious, yummy, gourmet to argue about. A wiser reader asks the question, "who wrote this?" after reading an article but not before.

There goes the score. Heh-heh-heh. laugh.gif

Dirty...words

The English language is the primary medium used in this site. But this doesn't mean that we will ignore the use of Filipino in some write-ups.

We seriously prohibit our writers to use dirty words in their write-ups even though mass-circulation magazines largely use them, we will not apply it here.

According to the United States Supreme Court, seven out of 490,000 words in English are obscene and profane, the Philippine Constitution also prohibits its use, so we'll get rid of them.

Okay...okay... We know you want more answers about your whys.

Here's one good reason why we don't allow obscene, dirty words in our silly website. We quoted something from a popular American broadcaster who once hosted the famous, witty CBS night talk show "60 Minutes." Mr. Andy Rooney told his audience:

" I think a lot of people say dirty words because they can't think of what they want to say and they're frustrated."
