A FALSE IDEA

For nearly a decade Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has seated as Commander in Chief of the Philippines, with lots of mishaps and misfortunes this country is still at the bottom of mud and dirt. I have calmly made considerable use of the records, I remember she once said that her successors will benefit from her accomplishments or for what she has done to the country during her term which will end on 2010 . Could this be true?

No.

If you will closely study the statement, as far as I know, another president's management of public affairs is totally different with another, so each president has no reflection of credit to themselves.

To prove it, it is this simple thought that I could cite. When Pres. Fidel Ramos left the Malacanang Palace on the second quarter of 1998, our country was economically doing well but it wobbled down during Pres. Joseph Estrada's term.

In general, any one president has no claim on whatsoever from the previous presidency except for the social and economic challenges that were left unsolved. The successful executive decisions, the levying of taxes, diplomatic affairs and even the maintenance of law and order would be useless or/and obsolete for the next presidencies.

Moreover, each Commander in Chief should quickly solve the economic and social pressing problems in a definite time, if not, automatically the presidency is called a failure. In real politics, politicians take a host of precautions to make sure of importing nothing from the past into the new regime. It is said, that they saddle themselves with all sorts of restrictions in order to differentiate themselves in every possible way from the previous generation; in a word, they spare no pains in their endeavor to obliterate their former selves.

Now, I have a very sharp eye to brilliantly and searchingly examine the nature of Pres. Arroyo's governance though it is not my purpose to write a keynote of her administration, I shall say, rather that her presidency is another big failure as well.

It is obvious that nothing has changed. This is another wasted decade for Juan de la Cruz.
