your vicious pain

So this charming fella right here is Jake Murray, and he might look all tough, but he can be a real softy inside. He's quite caring, but because of this, he has a habit of getting too easily attached to people. He might look like he's sporting a scowl most of the time, but that's really just his face. Either that, or he really doesn't like you... >.> His family is a touchy subject for him because the men in his life died for the country, but mainly because he still feels guilty for abandoning his mother a few years back. Make no mistake though, he's a family man through and through and will not hesitate to throw a punch at you if you make a 'yo mama' joke at him. (He doesn't seem to comprehend the fact that it's a joke.) Being a soldier is pretty much a family tradition for him, since his grandfather, father and brother were all involved in national services in someway or another. This is probably why he has a tendency to be so... strict controlling at times. He also hates being wrong and will do anything to prove that he's right, even when he himself knows that he's not. Oh! Did I mention he babbles a lot when he's drunk? (See: Bio XD) And he loves black coffee and uniforms and will get really pissed at you if you ever ever dare to call him Jackson. >.> ;D

your warning sign

friends. He doesn't have too many of these, but he definitely has a few. He doesn't do well with strangers and can be kind of polite in a cold way to them, but once he's warmed up to you, you two would probably be as thick as thieves. He's quite a private person, so people who are patient enough to deal with him might just get his steadfast friendship in return. Jake used to be in the illegal extraction business before he joined Control, so there's a chance that he's kept in contact with a few of his old teammates. Mostly Europeans, but there might be one or two Americans in there. He might not like the business anymore, but the friendships created during a job are strong and he's not going to let his different views come in the way of that.

enemies. Well, the most obvious ones are Control's marks. His inability to swallow his pride and constant need to be right might just rub some people the wrong way, and his stubborn attitude will most likely make it worse. Other than that... I wouldn't say Jake necessarily hates people who use dream-sharing for profit, but he certainly doesn't like any of them at first glance (several previous teammates are the exception, of course). After he learned of what happened to his old marks, safe to say that he's never going back to that profession. Ever.

loves. Jake's never been in love, and though he has the ability to, he just... doesn't. He just always finds an excuse to avoid it. The most common one is that he's too busy. In university, he was too busy trying to get his degree so that he could enlist in the army. In the army, he was too busy with his missions to focus on anything else. In Europe, he was too busy trying to distract himself from the mother he left behind. In Control, he's too busy kicking ass to look for a girl. You see where I'm going with this? xP Any love interest of his will probably have to be amazing enough to catch his attention and deal with his bullshit. That's not to say he's never lusted for anybody. He's pretty darn good with self-control, but a man's got needs, y'know? *winkwinknudgenudge* So for this section, probably just past flings and one-night stands ^^

others. Hm. I'm not sure what kind of 'others' apply to Jake, but if you have one, do tell XD

So yes, peeps. Plot him up! I'm open to just about any type of plot and I'd love to hear all your ideas (:

So Jake and Chloe are very much alike in that they're both gentle and caring, though aren't so good with strangers. But if they're on the same team, that would require them to know each other very well.. they'd be epic friends, I think. Both have very big hearts and a big capacity for love. Haha, Shane West is very umf, no? <3 XD Assuming Chloe's been in Control for a while, they both would definitely be good friends. He'd probably find her nerdy ramblings adorable (though he'd never say so out loud xP). Physically, he might find her attractive, but emotionally, he can be a little closed off. He'd probably say he's too busy with the job to get romantically involved with a teammate xP But we can try thread it out and see how it goes? :3 Do you want to start, or should I?

Hello, teammate! I think that Jake and Lynn would actually get along really well considering that they are both extremely logical and have a military background (albeit in different countries, but pfffffft). The only thing that I could see getting in the way is the fact that Lynn was branded as a traitor by her original employer, the Chinese government, and defected to the United States about six or seven years ago. She's been working with the CIA ever since and has proved her loyalty, but I'm not sure whether Jake would be the kind of person to be suspicious/wary of her motives or not. If he would be, that's fine cause we could play with some inter-team tension. If not, then I think the two of them have the potential to become pretty close friends.

As her point man, she obviously spends a great deal of time with him. When she needs extensive research done on a mark or information on who's close to them so she can properly forge a disguise, he'd be the one she goes to. I'm working with Winter on having Lynn be on a secret mission to catch Ariana (the rest of the team doesn't really know about it, it takes a forger to catch a forger, etc), but she might have gone to him and asked for his help in researching her and the people she associates with.

Anywho, I'm game for some plotting/threading anytime, so let me know what you think/your ideas!

Rawr, teammate! :3 I reckon they'd get along brilliantly, actually. He'd love how her mind works along the same lines as his does and he'd probably be awfully interested with how the Chinese military works and would (subtly) pester her about it XD Jake's a rather recent addition to Control when compared to her, so he would've been extremely dubious of her at first, but he would've trusted Control's decision to have her on board and assume that she's been rather well-behaved in the three years she's been there. That being said, I reckon he would've only really warmed up to her after maybe more than a year after he joined Control? After he got over his initial suspicion, they would've been close friends, for sure (:

Ooh! Lynn's on a mission to catch Ariana, is she? *rubs hands together gleefully* Ariana used to be Jake's teammate back when he was in the illegal extraction field, and it was during that last job with her that their team was busted by the cops and a few of them were sent to jail. Jake was one of the people who got his ass hauled to jail, and while that led to him being recruited by Control, he still despises the traitor that ratted them out to the authorities (who he believes is Ariana). If Lynn were to approach him about it, I reckon Jake would be very, very enthusiastic to assist Lynn with anything that would help bring Ariana down. Once he finds out that Ariana is in New York, it probably won't be long until he starts itching to hunt her down himself. Jake wouldn't tell Lynn about it of course since that would mean telling her about his personal vendetta against Ariana. That may throw a wrench in Lynn's plans when Jake unexpectedly does something that inadvertently alerts Ariana of the people tailing her. His emotions have the potential to cloud his judgement, and he really, really hates Ariana, so that's bound to be bad news for all of them ^^"

I love it! Lynn was instructed by the CIA and VCM to keep this whole mission very under the covers, which is why they approached only her about it, not all of Control. I didn't know that Jake and Ariana were previously acquainted, so this makes it all the more deliciously dramatic! I'd love to have a thread with the two of them that takes place after this one I've got her in right now (stalking Ariana in her dreams). Maybe having Lynn come to Jake and being like "YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT but I need your help :|" I see them being rather close friends prior to it all too, simply because they're very like-minded, and this whole situation will be a bonding experience for them xD
