Introduce Yourself!
This topic is for members to introduce themselves with alittle background about themselves and which relatives they descend from relating to Jacob Pea/Pie of Virginia 1740. Since I'm the first, I'll start. =) I am Richard Jameson Pea, born January 10, 1975, and am son of Leroy Frederick Pea. I have 2 brothers and 4 sisters through the same father. Genealogy is a new experience for me. I have alot of knowledge of forum creation and maintenance, running my own personal gamecreation hobby forums since August 2004, RPG-RMXP, which has a good 3000+ members now. Yet, those hobbies are fading as my new interest in family history grows. My direct line to Jacob Pea/Pie of Virginia is: Richard Jameson Pea (b. 1975) s/o LeRoy Frederick Pea (b. 1949) s/o Harley Boone Pea (b. 1923) s/o Harley Halstead Pea (b. 1887) s/o Thomas Clinton Pea (b. 1857) s/o Jacob Pea (b. 1831) s/o Daniel Pea (b. 1795) s/o John Jacob Pea (b. 1765) s/o Jacob Pea/Pie (b. 1740) s/o Unknown Pie (b. 17??) & Magdalene Unknown So hello to all of my relatives, cousins, aunts and uncles! =) -=RP=- |

There are alot of Pie's that could be our ancestors, we just don't know which one. DNA testing would solve that I'd think. But you'd have to have the Pie from overseas testing as well. There needs to be a Pea/Pie dna project with others submitting their own samples. Terry may know more about that.
Welcome Joe! And if you find any old photos at dad's, let me know. Gotta get them scanned and posted. =) Oh, and if you want a member forum to post your skating vids/pics, let me know and I'll set you up one. ^^ |

My name is JoAnn Howerton. My gg grandmother was Diane CATT. Diane and Irvin PEA had a daughter by the name of Elizabeth born 1847. Elizabeth married Martin VanBuren Duff in 1864. They had 4 children, Mary Ann, Charity, William (my grandfather), and Sarah Jane. Elizabeth and Martin divorced in 1880 and Elizabeth moved back to Vincennes, IN. ok I'll try here. My name is Ron Cass and I married into the family in 1996. I recently was given the bible of William Harrison Pea and Minerva Rodermel Pea circa 1856. This bible has birthdates , obituaries deaths and other random items. It is in poor condition but very readable. I have not searched page by page for any possible additional information but will do so before it is put away. I also plan to photograph the book and store it way for safe keeping.
Along with the bible came a host of photographs some with names. of Peas and Sprechers and unfortunately others without. Some pictures include Lourene Pea/Sprecher and her siblings but another series takes it back at least one more generation and likely two. Either way I am at the bottom of this long list of information for the bible of William and Minerva Pea : William H and Minerva PEA m. 1830 BIBLE. New Testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; translated out of original Greek Hartford: Salas Andrus and Son. 1856 Family Record Births William H Pea Was born June the 16th 1816 Minerva Pea Was born August the 20th 1820 Nancy Ann Mc Millen was born August the 15th 1837 Deaths Obituaries: On the 3d inst. MARY, Daughter of Wm. H. and Minerva Pea, after an illness of 30 days. Mary was just putting on the loveliness of womanhood. Fifteen summers had hardly fanned her temples with their gentle winds. And oh! How tender yet how strong were the cords of affection and love that bound her to the dear ones of earth! But death has broken them all asunder. Soothed and sustained by the love of our blessed Savior, she gathered up her mantle and passed over the dark river, without a mummer or regret. O blessed consolation: there’s another “Mary in heaven.” M. Miss Nannie A. Mc Millen, a lady who had spent the greater part of her life with the family of William H Pea, of Johnson Township, Died near Jaddan, Grant County, and was brought down here Monday and buried in the Upper Indiana Church, yesterday. She had an affection of the heart and lungs, and was forty-one years and eight months of age. William H Pea, an old citizen of this county died at his residence southeast of the city, at 4 o’clock on last Friday evening, aged nearly 70 years. He was born in Pike County, June 16th, 1816. The funeral took place at Palmyra Township, at 11 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Family Records MARRIAGES William H. Pea and Minerva Pea Rodarmel was married June the 21st 1830. Amos J. Edmondson and Caroline F. Pea were married September 3rd 1867. Thomas W. Pea and Hannah Soden were married April 30th 1868. T. Sully Pea and Susan Drennon were married October 12th 1871. Marlin F. Onail and Cora H. Pea were married April 6th 1881. Edward R. Pea and Ella B. Thompson were married Dec 18th1883. Ella B. Pea born Oct 20-1856 died Sept 1,- 1926 Obituary: Mr. William H Pea was born June 13 1816, and died April 9th 1886. He was born in Pike County Ind., and came to this county but 9 years old. He was left an orphan at a very early age, having the toils and cares of his life to master by himself. During the time that Texas was fighting for her independence, he shouldered his musket and helped her to solve her problem. Coming back to Knox he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Rodarmel, sister of James L Rodermel. United with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1843, he has proven to be an honorable member by holding the office of elder in that denomination for a period of thirty years. He was the worthy father of nine children six of whom are living and followed him to his last resting place. He was stricken by paralysis thirty years ago, and until six years ago it had so affected his organs of speech that he could only converse in a whisper, and he has therefore been a helpless invalid for a number of years. He leaves an aged wife and brother to morn his loss. His brother John Pea, is living in Illinois, and is four years his senior. Mr. Pea attained the exact number of years allotted to man. He was a faithful husband and a kind father, making friends wherever he went, and is sadly missed as a husband, father, neighbor, and friend. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Harrison at the Lower Indiana church. His wife age 67, and relatives have the entire sympathizing community. Be faithful a servant of the Lord as Brother Pea was, and the time is not far distant when there will be a happy meeting on the banks of the “ bright forever more.” Your bosom friend and main stay of life has been removed. Put more trust in the Lord. And when your days are numbered there will be a meeting, a glorious meeting. H. My name's Alicia and I'm 28 and I currently live in Redondo Beach, CA. My mom is the niece of Sweetie Pea, who was married to Charley Pea. Aunt Sweetie passed away this year, and unfortunately I was unable to attended her funeral since she lived in Mississippi. Uncle Charley isn't doing so well, and I haven't heard any news for the last couple of weeks.

Hi Alicia... I replied in the obituary topic.
Great you found our forums. Its for all Pea family and relatives. Feel free to share any info you can about your family and how you are related. I have been compiling alot of Pea family information from research done over the last 30 or so years. My uncle Terry Pea, nephew of Charley Pea, got me started in genealogy and I haven't stopped since. =b Information we would love to add to our genealogy Gedcom file is names, dates of births, possibly where born as well (Ancestry.com census data helps alot with people born before 1930), plus any children they may have. Pictures, stories and links to family info located online are also welcome. =) If you'd like to know more about the Pea family, let me know. I can give you some family tree info to look at, or you can look in the topics related to our family tree located at Rootsweb. Although that is outdated compared to the latest info I've been adding to our Gedcom that I hope to get up sometime near Christmas (even if its not complete, but will show much more info for individuals that are). Individuals that are living have their information removed to protect sensitive data (usually those born after 1930-40). -------------------- Richard Jameson Pea

Hi,
My name is Linda and my "Pea" connection is through my great grandmother Susie Jane Pea who married Clarence Alfred Taylor. I researched this family years ago but have just (yesterday) started looking into this family line again. Thanx for joining the forums Linda! =))
I was looking up info on William Grover Cleveland Mullins, and found that his father was Arzanous Ezra Mullins, born Mar 1847 in Breathitt Co, KY, who married secondly Ellen Hunt, b. Oct 1866 in Texas, on Sep 29, 1889. Can you let me know if that info is correct? I found them listed on both the 1900 (indian terr, oklahoma) and 1910 (new mexico) US Census records. Also, do these family trees look correct to you?
