Pea/Pie Family Forums

Guidelines
Welcome to the Pea Family forums!

These forums are for all family members who are descended from Jacob Pea/(de la)Pie, born 1740 in Pennsylvania, son of Unknown 'de la' Pie and Magdalene.

This Pea family originated either from France or Germany and were descendants of Huguenots of the early colonial times in America (also possibly of Palatine roots). We are still looking for a direct connection to the de la Pie, de le Pie, de Pie, or la Pie families overseas.

Our family Y-dna, based on my uncle Terry's results, has been posted to help establish any blood relations. Please send immediate correspondence to Richard_Pea@dca.ca.gov if any dna links have been found with our line!

If you are from this lineage, we look forward to hearing from you! Please sign up and post your introduction, including which ancestors you know of in your relation to the above mentioned Jacob Pea/Pie born circa 1740.

If you have Family Tree information or Gedcom files to share with this community, please post a link to the uploaded file so others can view and possibly incorporate the info within with their own files and research. As always, citing your sources for the information you gather and share is a must. This will hopefully cut down on confusion if any should arise.

These forums are also for Queries concerning particular family members that you may be researching about, and for sharing photos, birth, death and marriage information.

Other Pea families were established within the early United States, but the surnames derived from different variations of the word Pea from the way it sounded. More common Pea variations (Pea-body, Pye, Peacock) were English in origin, referring to different birds. Our forebear had a French/German sounding surname (de la, or de le, Pie pronounced with a long E) meaning 'of the mountain'.

AS always, we are looking for older documents to help show residencies, marriages, births and deaths for any and all of our ancestors and their descendants, so if you have come across some information regarding any possible relatives, please email the Admins of this forum.

Thank you for taking the time to Register with the Pea Family forums, and have a great day!

Sincerely,
