BOARD RULES
---NOTE!:---
IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF THIRTEEN, DO NOT JOIN. Sorry. It's nothing personal. Invision's rules clearly state that members under the age of thirteen are NOT allowed. It's for safety reasons. Heck, there's a whole LAW against it. So please, if you are a younger RPer, please wait until you turn thirteen. We'd be happy to have you, it's just we want to be able to keep our forum. ---ALSO NOTE!:--- PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT USING THE NAME OF YOUR CHARACTER. Each character gets an individual account. If Bob has a character named Marty, he will play with an account named Marty. You can have as many characters as you can keep active, and all of them need separate accounts. If you forgot or joined before reading this, (Shame on you!) that's okay. PM an admin (Zita) to have the name changed. I promise I won't bite. OOC RULES: 1. No fighting. It's okay to disagree with someone, but that's no excuse to behave like a n00b and start up a flame war over it! 2. No taking IC disputes OOC. So what if Sally's character doesn't like your character? Sally's probably the sweetest person there is OOC. Remember that some people will have characters that don't necessarily act like them, or characters that they don't even agree with! A grouchy character will be grouchy to you, even if their player is a friendly person. 3. For that matter, no taking OOC disputes IC. Maybe you and Bob don't exactly see eye to eye, but that doesn't mean your characters are going to fight all the time. OOC and IC are two different worlds, don't get them muddled together! 4. No chatspeak or leetspeak on the board or in the c-box. It's okay to do this in jest, but no posts like: lol, i c wut u mean bout dat. b back l8r, i g2g rite now. Just using a "lol" or two, an OMG, or a quick "brb" if you need to go isn't so bad, just keep these things in moderation. If you're too lazy to post proper english OOC, your in-character life is gonna be miserable. ;) 5. Respect all other members, especially staffers. For that matter, when you become an older member be kind to the newbies as well. It's no fun to be on a board where people are all mad at each other. Part of this means no racial slurs, no blatant insults to members of any sort of group, no political or religious arguments, etc. 6. No adult content shall be posted on the forum at any time. First offenders will be suspended and given a harsh talking to. Repeat offenders will be IP banned. 7. Keep all language at a PG-13 level or below. Personally, I do not appreciate cursing and will not tolerate it for the sake of other members, especially those whose parents do not like it. ("Crap" is the strongest permitted swear.) 8. Be a member of the community! Be active IC and OOC! Join the family, have fun with us in the c-box! Make jokes, post cool things, comment on other peoples' artwork. Getting to know your fellow rp-ers is half the fun. IC RULES: 1. Keep your characters in character. Don't join up with a mean character and then have his mean-ness wuss out when he's challenged, or in reverse, don't make a friendly character that is instantly mean when you start playing them. You can update your character's personality as time goes on if you find yourself uncomfortable playing them as you first invisioned them. 2. Again, don't bring disputes from OOC into the game and don't bring disputes from the game OOC. Kinda repeating myself here, but eh. 3. Powerplaying and Godmoding are forbidden. Powerplaying is taking control of another player's character. Godmoding is making yourself invincible or perfect. Just don't. We may just have to get annoyed with you. It's no fun when someone steals your character's free will. 4. Metagaming is also forbidden. That's when you have a character know things that they couldn't possibly know. If Sally-Sue doesn't tell Danny that she's got weaker vision in one eye and she's shown no sign of it, there's no way Danny could know about it even if it says so clearly in Sally-Sue's history. "Someone told him/her" or "He/she can sense these things" is not an acceptable excuse. 5. NO ONE-LINE POSTS. Please have at least ten sentences in each one. It shouldn't be too hard to fill, but if you're struggling, try describing how your character moves, what they're thinking, the look on their face, or things they notice. It makes for a better post and helps people get more of a feel for your character. 6. Killing another player's character is FORBIDDEN. Sometimes this will happen because of a plot when the character's player decides that they will die.
