Windfall Plains A wide expanse of grassy plains. These are an ideal home for herd poke'mon. There are occasional trees and other vegetation, but this is mostly grassland and smaller, more delicate flowering plants. This is the warmest area in the Northern Region. It's hot in the summer and snows a little in the winter. |

The Crested Mountains (foothills) The foothills of the Crested Mountains are a cold place of pine trees and, in the winter, snow. They are beautiful to look at. In the summer, they are a lush wilderness with plenty of places to rest or explore. |

The Crested Mountains (peaks) It's a harsh climb up the mountains, especially in the winter. Only ice and rock types would be at home on the bleak clifftops. This isn't a place you want to visit without very good reason. It is always snowing up here. |

The Blue River The Blue River runs down from the Crested Mountains. It is a narrow, fast river and can easily bear even a strong swimmer down through its rapids. The water is deliciously clear and cold. Some like to lie in the shallows near the bank because they think the cold water helps to clear their mind. |

Summerleaf Forest A healthy young forest of deciduous trees, bare in winter and bright green in spring. A good place for hunting smaller game, or to find a den. |

Sky Lake Sky Lake is an enormous expanse of water, fed by the Blue River running down from the north. It is named because the sky is reflected in it so clearly that someone looking at it may lose track of which way is the reflection. A great place to swim or fish. |

The Sunken Caves A small cave system that plunges down beneath the Summerleaf Forest. It's a good place to cool off in the summer or warm up in the winter. It's usually quite dry and comfortable in the caves. Occasionally one of the chambers collapses and forms a sinkhole. |

The Ruined City A city of inexplicable stone ruins sitting on a hill. Mosses cover the remains of stone walls. Trees grow up where roofs used to be. No one knows who lived here or why they left, but it has an eerie aura overall. Some poke'mon regard it as a source of spiritual energy. |

The Great Volcano A large volcano takes up the southernmost point of the Crested Mountains. It seems to be rather inactive. The basin is filled with hot magma, and only fire types would be safe going too near it. |

Torkoal Springs Who said having a volcano around was all bad? A bunch of bubbling hotsprings rise up from the ground near its base, heated by the volcano's magma chamber and secluded by rock formations. In essence, a natural spa. |

Goldsand Desert The desert is deceptively beautiful with a clear sky and golden sand. A few cacti dot the rather cliche'd horizon. However, during the brief winter wet season, all sorts of desert plants spring to life and paint the ground green with specks of colorful fruit and flowers. The rest of the year, it is a baking deathtrap by day. |

Noctis Forest A strange land lying just a bit south of the volcano. The trees here are thick and tall, their leaves so dense they block out most sunlight on the forest floor. It usually appears to be like night under their shadow. Dark types love this place. Many stories are told of poke'mon vanishing into the trees, never to be seen again. |

The Blue Delta The Blue River spills out into the Southern Sea here, depositing silt and other minerals it has picked up into this triangular spit of land that its fingers run across. Berries planted here will grow into tall, healthy plants. The grass here is always green and lush, and young poke'mon play in the mud. |

The Southern Sea The beach of the Southern Sea is beautiful. White sand, bright blue water, and warm weather. It's almost a resort. A great place to relax. |

Treevine Jungle A dense rainforest, hot and muggy year round. Insects flit from tree to tree, bird calls filter down through the tall branches to the forest floor. Underfoot is a carpet of heat-rotted vegetation. A brave explorer may find strange things in the jungle. |

Claw Canyon Named because it seems to have been scarred into the earth by a claw, this deep canyon has a river (The Claw River) running through the bottom. The sides are steep and craggy, riddled with little crevices and crannies perfect for hiding in. |
