twenty-fourth

Oh em gee. I'd like everyone to be participating in at least one thread by next Friday, please. It's not much to ask. We look so very dead, we're obviously not going to attract anyone who does linkjack. We still need territories!

She was not alive. Alright.
Finn could unlive with that knowledge. Her dark amber eyes regarded the translucent leaves with mild blankness. She felt too light. Too spry. As though she could run and run and run forever and never stop. It was a foreign, unnatural feeling for the wolfess who had spent the last years of her long life in constant pain and stiffness.

Finn never thought much about the afterlife while she lived. She was too busy thinking about death, how to save and how to kill, to ponder over such abstract ideas. But now there was an abstract idea all around her. The afterlife. The Otherworld.

Kantark. What was this land the ex-alpha was bound to? She had accepted Conan's offer of epsilon-ship without question. The only thought that had run through her mind at that moment was relief that she would not have to go around leading anyone again. The black wolf was not willing to admit that it was impossible to separate the leader from her bones.

Finn walked on, head held low to the ground to sniff at the forest floor. There was not a single leaf on the ground. She did not think this was odd. In fact, she was trying not to think at all and was so far quite successful.

Alright. Time to get some activity going for Grey, gosh darnit. And this thread looked lonely for awhile. =/

She was walking, walking to nowhere. Where was there a place to go in this strange world, after all? Still, even after passing through her initiation rites at the borders, Grey still couldn’t believe that this was in fact the afterlife. It just didn’t…seem right. Now that her physical body was dead, wasn’t it that her soul would only pass on to the next dimension. Here, her flesh was unscathed by any wounds or scars she had when she was mortal. There were no fang marks across her throat where her enemy bit down, no torn flesh, not a drop of blood, no stretched muscles, nothing. Though she knew she was a wolf who was nearing old age, here her whole body was rid of any growing pains or arthritis her bones began to form in her mortal figure. It was as if she felt young again, like a puppy would in its carefree stages of life.

Her paws swept over the ground mildly, walking its casual, often arrogant cruise. Her figure stood proud, tail held high like that in her mortal life. It was mainly out of her own pride, but also how light her body felt and how it was rid of any pain. Her snout, of course, was stuck to the ground, sniffing at anything that managed to come in her path. Both her mind and nose was active with all sorts of things. Do I get hungry here? Where do I go for water? Is there any godly figures here? Are my parents here? So many questions, so many answers to discover. The sudden thought of her parents did strike a curious bell in her mind. Her parents died long ago, before she reached two years old. They just had to be here then, right? Excitement and anxiousness washed over her. Stopping in her tracks, she lifted her gray skull to look around. If she was to seek out her parents, where would she start?

The ex-warrior remained in her place, pondering, until something moved out of the corner of her eye. There in the distance was a dark hued wolf, just like her! Finally! At least something is walking around here! Ears flattened slightly out of caution. What if this wolf wasn’t friendly? Still, Grey need to investigate and at least talk to somebody about this place. Keeping a cautious air about her, her gray painted paws wandered on over until the female stopped at a comfortable distance. Arching her neck in curiosity, her nostrils flared as she sniffed the other from a distance. “Greetings, there! Are you from around these parts?”

ooc: Pardon if Finn's speech patterns don't mesh well.... I haven't played her in so long, I've forgotten how she used to talk.
ic: Finn the ex alphess nearly jumped straight out of her pelt when Grey's voice came to her ears. She had not believed therewere any other wolves in the entire world. Only her. Dead. And yet somehow expected to live again. Damn it all. How was the black one supposed to live when there was nothing, not even a wild eyed Auciel---

Reality, if the Otherworld was reality, reclaimed importance in Finn's mind. Who knew how dangerous this new world was? Finn had to keep her wits about her. What was left of them anyway. Her voice emerged from her grizzled maw slowly, as though great age and death had caused the black one to forget how to speak. "No, I'm not."
Silvered maw closed. Dark chocolate, ambered eyes stared unblinking, sizing the female up and down. Against her will old, half-forgotten instincts kicked in. Observe size. Observe muscle tone. Attention to detail. Attention to detail. Finn's mouth felt dry, so she attempted to speak again. "All I know is I'm expected in Kantark.... I am.... epsilon..." her voice cracked as it caressed the syllables that formed her titular rank. Those dark eyes had not yet blinked.

No problem. :]

The obsidian female's jump nearly made Grey jump out of her own fur as well. God.. what a strange place. She wasn't startled by the other, but her caution was up nonetheless. She suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if some outer force was making the occasion uneasy and not them. Or was it them? Or maybe just Grey? What the hell, she didn't know. She wanted to stop thinking so much about what was going on, and decided to do just that, or else she would probably end up nowhere around here. As the other observed her closely, it was also in a warrior's nature to size up their opponents and eye the pros and cons of one another. Her eyes kept a wary watch, but nonetheless open and non-threatful. The thin flesh that was her ears upon her furred skull remained forward, listening to what the female had to say. So, she wasn't from around here either. That was somewhat relief. "I'm not from here either. All I want to do is go back home." Grey stated, with a hint of worry. She wanted to get back home, to get revenge on the one who killed her and return to her mate and pack.
However, the ebony one spoke of Kantark and her ranking. Odd, because something (and she didn't know what this something was.. it spoke to her in a telekenesis form) told her about a Kantark and the Greek word Zeta. Her memory couldn't quite remember the voice and where it came from, but that's what it told her. Her head tilted a little, a confused whine screeching from her throat. "What? The same thing happened to me too. Who told you? I heard the word Kantark and Zeta from a voice." Her shoulders shrugged, almost in defeat of the whole situation.

ooc: Back from vacation! Huzzah! Now, I'm taking the liberty of assuming she met with Conan briefly at the Lake, seeing as she's not the type to let voices in her head tell her what to do. <3
Playing as Finn is so bizarre. She's so messed up. I lums her.

A shred of genuine emotion passed like a storm cloud of confusion across Finn's muzzle. Was this shadow-colored female mad? If she was, Finn was not one to pass judgement. For all she knew, the black one was mad too. Mad, mad, we're all mad here, slaves of Sirius' overbearing sanity. No, her voice grated. She seemed apologetic about the grizzled notes, ahemed, and tried again. No, I met a wolf at the lake, Kantark's alpha. She felt an eerie shudder ripple down her spine. She could not count how many seasons she lived through without refering to another beast as a superior. His name is Conan. This epsilon thing would take some getting used to.

The eyes blinked finally. Finn decided that since the zeta was a comrade in death and a packmate, they could do each other no harm. I guess we are both lost lambs then. My name is Finn More'd. What is yours? Her head lowered and a tiny... was that a smile?... pulled the corners of her lips gently upwards. She omitted her full name, Fin-of-the-Fang, the sobriquet she bore in life. Now that she was dead, all those syllables sounded idiotic. Just Finn would suit her nicely.

If all good came to pass (and if Serendipity willed it), this would be the first friend Finn made in years.
