Aidan: You can keep walking, Greenlee, but I'm right behind you.

Greenlee: What part of "leave me alone" do you not get?

Aidan: How did you know I went to see Dr. Hilliard and I was at his office, huh?

Greenlee: I'm psychic.

Aidan: What is your connection with him?

Greenlee: Well, it doesn't matter anymore, does it?

Aidan: You know what? It matters to me, because I'm supposed to be a private detective, remember?

Greenlee: Well, get a dog or a hobby, Aidan. Do something useful with your life.

Aidan: Listen -- you blew my cover, and I want to know why.

Greenlee: I was there, ok? I was in his office when you showed up. Kendall in the first place, and now, thanks to you, Dr. Hilliard is off the case. Now, because of you, Dr. Hilliard is not going to help Spike, so thank you very much!

Greenlee: And then, big, dumb you walks into Hilliard's office and here we are -- busted.

Aidan: Well, at least now it makes sense.

Greenlee: Oh, good. I'm glad it makes sense to someone. You know, I had this whole thing under control. I wrote the doc a big check, Spike was going to get help --

Aidan: It doesn't matter how many checks you write. You could write a million checks, Greenlee, and we'd still be right here.

Greenlee: Why don't you tell that to Spike? Oh, wait -- you can't. He's deaf.

Aidan: You can't carry on like this, Greenlee, all right? It has to stop, not just for them, but for your sake.

Greenlee: What do you know, Aidan? I mean, have you ever been responsible for anyone but yourself?

Aidan: This isn't about me, is it?

Greenlee: Spike had a chance with Hilliard.

Aidan: Maybe.

Greenlee: And I had a chance to help, so I took it.

Aidan: Why didn't you just send Kendall the doctor's information, or better still, you could call Ryan and give him Hilliard's CV.

Greenlee: No. If they knew that Hilliard came from me in any way, shape, or form, they would've blown it off. Kendall would've spit on me. Oh.

Aidan: Yeah, but, you -- you don't know that.

Greenlee: Yeah, I do. It doesn't matter now. It's -- it's over.

Aidan: You really wanted this, didn't you?

Greenlee: Have you heard anything I've said?

Aidan: I listen to everything you say.

Greenlee: Liar.

Aidan: No, not this time. I screwed up. Does that make you happy?

Greenlee: Yeah. What do you think -- do I look happy?

Aidan: I walked into a situation full of unknowns, and I got busted. I should've been way more prepared.

Greenlee: So this is about you, then?

Aidan: I made a mistake.

Greenlee: Right, I forgot -- perfect Aidan. Well, you should try my life. I make mistakes all the time.

Aidan: Whew. Oh.

Greenlee: What are you doing?

Aidan: I'm going to go for a swim, 10-ks. That's what I do when I screw up.

Greenlee: Me, I just grab a bottle of tequila and make an ass of myself.

Aidan: It's about 200 yards out there. That's when I'll remember.

Greenlee: Remember what?

Aidan: Not to make another mistake.

Greenlee: You're really serious about this. Care to share?

Aidan: No, not really.

Greenlee: Come on. I told you mine, you tell me yours.

Aidan: Ok. When I was in SAS training, I had this bastard of a captain, and he would take our worst fear, and he would punish us with it.

Greenlee: What was yours?

Aidan: Swimming in lakes.

Greenlee: Like Loch Ness Monster or something?

Aidan: Eels. I can't stand eels.

Greenlee: Oh, you're kidding. That's what you're afraid of?

Aidan: Listen, have you ever had a little sea snake swim up your shorts?

Greenlee: Oh --

Aidan: Yeah, because you didn't.

Greenlee: No. No, no, no. Ok, I got it, I got it. You're right, yes -- ooh.

Aidan: So whenever I screwed up, I had to swim 10-ks in the lake in the middle of the night.

Greenlee: So, I'm not the only one who punishes myself.

Aidan: Ever since then, if I want to remind myself of the price of making a mistake, I go for a long, hard swim -- minus the eels.

Greenlee: That's harsh.

Aidan: Yeah.

Greenlee: So --

Aidan: Hmm.

Greenlee: You really are one of those James Bond types.

Aidan: Something like that.

Greenlee: So what's the deal? You put a bullet in a man's head and throw on a tux, play some poker?

Aidan: We didn't always wear a tux.

Greenlee: Oh, that's a shame. You'd look stunning.

Aidan: Hmm.

Greenlee: Did you ever kill anyone?

Aidan: Let's just say this -- only the bad people got hurt unless one of us made a mistake.

Greenlee: Did you?

Aidan: You know what? Sod it -- I -- I screwed up today, but at least no one died. All right?

Greenlee: Where'd you get those?

Aidan: Oh. I swam to the Yacht Club, went to the snack bar, and then I walked back.

Greenlee: Oh. That was fast.

Aidan: You got to be fast these days. You want one or not?

Greenlee: Um -- yeah, sure. Thank you.

Aidan: You're welcome.

Greenlee: So, when you were Mr. Secret Agent Man, how many people did you kill?

Aidan: Oh, we're still on that one, are we?

Greenlee: Well, it's not every day that you meet someone who's done that. Plus, it's the only thing I think that's interesting about you.

Aidan: You are so charming. Thank you.

Greenlee: You're welcome. So, how many?

Aidan: I was a soldier, and I did what I was trained to do.

Greenlee: And it didn't bother you?

Aidan: My country needed me. My conscience never bothered me with what was -- what was asked of me. But when the wrong people got hurt and the wrong people died, that's not so easy.

Greenlee: Kind of like crashing your car and making a little boy deaf. I mean, no one died, but Spike and Ian are just kids and now -- now they're struggling because of me. I mean, I know they're not soldiers -- they're just little children.

Aidan: You can't go back.

Greenlee: Yeah, but imagine if you could. I mean, I'd change so much. You?

Aidan: Maybe.

Greenlee: I really wanted to help Spike.

Aidan: Well, at least he still has a chance. Sometimes they don't, you know? Oh.

[Splash]

Greenlee: Do you want to talk about it?

Aidan: I'd rather not.

Greenlee: I mean, I -- I don't know what war is like. I've lost friends, but -- not like that.

[Splash]

Aidan: Who says they were friends?

Greenlee: Oh, I'm sorry. It just -- you seemed like you were responsible or -- a child? Do you -- do you blame yourself for the death of a child?

Aidan: You know what? I really don't want to talk about it. It was a long time ago.

Greenlee: Not so long. You -- you still remember.

Aidan: Well, how do you forget? What's the matter? You don't like processed meat?

Greenlee: Just because I haven't finished the whole thing yet doesn't mean I don't appreciate it.

Aidan: Did you ever hear about the -- the guy that competed for the world record in hotdog eating?

Greenlee: Huh.

Aidan: No, I'm serious.

Greenlee: No, I think I missed that one.

Aidan: This guy, he ended up getting arthritis in his jaw.

Greenlee: You're kidding. Like, a sports-related injury?

Aidan: Like a sports-related injury.

Greenlee: Like tennis elbow.

Aidan: His whole life revolved around shoving hotdogs down his throat, and he got to the point where, even when he stuck a pretzel in his gob, the guy was I pain.

Greenlee: "Gob"? Did I hear that right?

Aidan: Sure. You laugh at the man's pain. That's nice.

Greenlee: No, I just need a translator.

[Greenlee laughs]

Aidan: "Gob" means "mouth."

Greenlee: Ah -- no, no, no, I got that.

Aidan: Come here, you got something.

Greenlee: Thank you. Hey, I wanted to ask you something.

Aidan: Not another mercy sex offer? Please?

Greenlee: Ha, ha, funny. No. You know that -- um -- that nerve pinch thing you did to David that dropped him to the floor?

Aidan: You know the best thing about David Hayward? Is his face, to the curb.

Greenlee: Ok. Well, I was wondering if you could maybe teach me that move.

Aidan: Greenlee, that is a military secret. Besides, I don't want you using it on me.

Greenlee: Please stop. No more Austin Powers.

Aidan: [As Austin Powers] What's the matter, babe? Do I make you horny, baby? Randy, do I?

[Aidan growls]

Greenlee: No, no, not with bun in your teeth.

Aidan: [Normal voice] That sounds a bit naughty.

Greenlee: How are you allowed to get away with saying "naughty"?

Aidan: Naughty, naughty. Very naughty.

[Greenlee gasps as she chokes on her hotdog]

Greenlee: Oh!

[Greenlee coughs after Adrian performs the Heimlich Maneuver on her]

Greenlee: Oh!

08.29.07

Aidan: So, listen, the next thing I know, Greenlee starts choking -- all right, really choking, so I come around her, I pick her up, and I give her a real hard Heimlich.

Jack: And in the process, you rebreak her rib, right? Ouch.

Aidan: No, "ouch," Jack, I can handle. For the next three hours, your daughter screams bloody murder at me all the way to the hospital until some kind doctor gives her a real strong jab of something.

Jack: So she's been sedated?

Aidan: Well, I hope so, because the last time I went in there, she threw a bedpan at my head. I had to duck.

Jack: Oh, dear God. That -- that bedpan, was it --

Aidan: Don't ask.

Jack: Well, if she's that bad, maybe I should put on a wetsuit before I go in.

Aidan: Is Greenlee mad at you, too?

Jack: Well, let's just say our last father/daughter moment didn't end on a high point.

Aidan: You ready to face the dragon?

Jack: Right behind you.

Greenlee: Daddy, Aidan! Group hug!

Jack: Greenlee, what did they put in that IV of yours?

Greenlee: I don't know, but keep it coming.

Aidan: You are in a better mood than you were in last night, aren't you?

Greenlee: Yeah, because last night was like this. "Spike -- ooh, shh -- don't say that word!" It was like this long, sharp, sharp -- knife, knife. Every time it thrust in and out of my chest, it hurt, but now it's like whoo-hoo!

Jack: Whoa, whoa, honey, I wouldn't -- I wouldn't -- I wouldn't do that, ok?

Aidan: Yeah, I'd listen to your dad if I were you.

Greenlee: Who?

Jack: Uh -- your dad, that would be me.

Greenlee: Jack!

Jack: Yeah.

Greenlee: Hi, Daddy!

Jack: Hi, honey.

Greenlee: Hi!

Jack: Hi.

Greenlee: Daddy, hello.

Aidan: So I guess this means you've forgiven me for putting you in hospital?

Greenlee: [British accent] I've forgiven you for putting you in hospital, I have, I have. [Normal voice] You're so cute when you get all British, very --

Aidan: I am British, Greenlee.

Greenlee: You're British -- you're British, you're British! That's right! Last night, Austin Powers -- "Yeah, baby!" Daddy, you should've seen him last night. Oh, he was hysterical -- hysterical!

Jack: Greenlee?

Greenlee: Mm-hmm?

Jack: Yeah, hi. Uh -- do you need anything? Can I get you anything?

Greenlee: Um, yes, well, I'll take him. Very hot.

Aidan: Well, then. Uh -- I'm going to head out.

Greenlee: No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no --

Aidan: I'm glad you're ok.

Greenlee: No, no, you're --

Aidan: I'm glad you're feeling better.

Greenlee: But, you're leaving already?

Aidan: Yes.

Greenlee: But, I mean, we've just -- we hardly know each other, and there's still so much to say.

Aidan: We'll get to that, all right?

Greenlee: Ok, good.

Aidan: I think maybe it would be a great idea if we can keep her hooked up to this IV for the rest of her life.

Jack: I couldn't agree with you more.

Greenlee: Bye, Aidan. Say Hi to the queen.
Jack: Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. Hi.

Aidan: Painkillers, huh? Got to love them.

Jack: Yeah, sure do.

Aidan: Listen, Jack, about today, I'm -- I'm sorry for what happened.

Jack: No -- no, no, no, Aidan, you have no reason to apologize. Listen to me. First of all, you saved my daughter's life, again. Plus, because of you, Greenlee and I spent one of the best days together we've spent in a long time. So thank you.

Aidan: That's all right. Well, listen, I don't want to interrupt, so -- I just came to drop this off.

Jack: Ok.

Aidan: It's for Greenlee.

Jack: Ok. I'll make sure she gets it. Thanks again, Aidan.

09.04.07
Aidan: This is nice. You know, I put my keys somewhere -- they're not in here, because I've got no pockets. Maybe they're in here -- nope. Oh, man, don't tell me I lost --

Greenlee: I think you're about two beers past finding them, so, um --

Aidan: Yeah, thank you.

Greenlee: Do you want me to make some coffee?

Aidan: Hang on a minute -- where was I? I'm retracing my steps. I needed some fresh air, so I stepped out from Tad's party, and then I saw you, and then now I'm here.

Greenlee: Ok, you're the one who asked for a ride home. You're lucky I didn't ditch you on the side of the road. What?

Aidan: You were really cute.

Greenlee: When -- at The Comeback bar when you almost recracked one of my other ribs?

Aidan: No, right before that -- after I recracked your first rib. You were in the hospital -- on those meds, remember? -- And you weren't bitchy, you weren't crazy, you weren't nuts. You were really cute.

Greenlee: I'm not cute.

Aidan: You're blushing. Oh, my -- you are blushing. Greenlee's blushing -- I've never seen that before. How come you never show anyone the cute Greenlee? Hmm?

Greenlee: How come the only time I'm alone with a man, it's you?

Aidan: You know what? I should go.

Greenlee: I'm not going back out there.

Aidan: That's all right, you don't have to -- I'll get a cab.

Greenlee: Ok -- oh --

Aidan: I'm fine.

Greenlee: You're not even going to make it downstairs, Aidan. You just -- you know what? You sleep it off here.

Aidan: Really, I'm not that bad, Greenlee, I'm fine.

Greenlee: You're a pain.

Aidan: I'm a -- I'm a pain?

Greenlee: You're a pain.

Aidan: Here we go again. Look at this -- you see this? You see this little, cuddly toy? Is that any way to treat a guy who bought you this wonderful little tiger, and saved your life more than once?

Greenlee: And rebroke my rib more than once -- almost.

Aidan: Please, just say good night as cute, little Greenlee, please, for once.

Greenlee: Don't push it.

Aidan: Oh, well -- hey, where you going?

[Greenlee's ribs hurt when Aidan grabs her arm to pull her back]

Greenlee: Oh -- ow --

Aidan: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to --

Greenlee: It's fine.

Greenlee: You know, I --

Aidan: Shh.

[Aidan kisses Greenlee's hurt ribs then her lips to which she responds. He then removes her blouse and the bandage wrapped around her waist and kisses her some more]

Greenlee: Ah. Oh.

Aidan: If you're trying not to wake me up, it's too late. I'm already awake.

Aidan: I'll get it for you.

Greenlee: It's ok.

Aidan: I can at least -- no, really. Don't move, I'll get it. Oh. In fact, first, we should -- we should do your bandage.

Greenlee: No, I'm fine. It's ok, I'm fine.

Aidan: Oh, yeah, right. I can see that.

Greenlee: Aidan, I just want to get this over.

Aidan: Greenlee, I've had a couple of cracked ribs in my time, all right? You need to have them wrapped.

Greenlee: But I'm fine.

Aidan: Come on just hold still.

Aidan: You ready?

[Aidan gently wraps a wide bandage around Greenlee's torso]

Aidan: There you go.

Aidan: All better.

Greenlee: If you apologize for last night, I'll break your face.

Aidan: Must say, great coffeemaker you got back there.

Greenlee: Yeah. It -- it makes cappuccino and espresso and it foams the milk and the crema on the espresso. It's just perfect every time because, you know, sometimes it's hard to find a good machine that -- that does everything.

Aidan: Well, it's lucky you found one.

Greenlee: Yeah. You -- you know, you don't have to stick around.

Aidan: Yeah, I should -- I should go anyway.

Greenlee: Well, no, I, I -- please finish your coffee. Huh. This is weird.

Aidan: Just a little bit.

Greenlee: I mean, you wrapped my bandage, you didn't slam me when I ordered you not to apologize, and now you've made me coffee. I'm officially freaked out.

Aidan: Well, I didn't really expect to wake up here this morning -- that's for sure -- but I don't think there's anything to be embarrassed about.

Greenlee: On what planet?

Aidan: Oh, two consenting adults, one on beer, one high on meds. I mean, it happens, right?

Greenlee: You weren't that drunk and I wasn't on painkillers, so how do we explain this?

Aidan: Uh -- why do we have to?

Greenlee: Mercy sex -- remember? I had offered it to you when Di first broke things off, so --

Aidan: And then you unoffered -- remember? I think if anyone offered anybody mercy sex last night, it was me to you. Ok, you know what? No, I don't know what I'm saying. you're right. Um -- you felt sorry for me -- lost my keys, dumped by my girl. You were being nice -- how's that?

Greenlee: That works.

Aidan: It won't happen again. I won't impose on your hospitality in the future.

Greenlee: What was wrong with my hospitality? Was -- was it not up to par? You've had better? Oh.

Aidan: I really should get going.

Greenlee: Oh, yeah? You going to go looking like that?

Aidan: Like what?

Greenlee: Well, maybe you should shower first, so you don't have to do the bed-head walk of shame.

Aidan: A shower could be just what I need. Thank you.

Greenlee: Hey -- lay off the toothbrush!

Greenlee: So, um, now what? Do we shake hands, insult each other, say "thank you"? Huh.

Aidan: Oh -- I don't know, whatever feels right.

Greenlee: What feels right is this never happened.

Aidan: What never happened?

Greenlee: To the grave?

Aidan: To the grave. You take care of those ribs, all right?

Greenlee: Alone.

10.30.07

Aidan: Good morning, morning, morning. I heard you get up hours ago.

Greenlee: Hmm. Yeah, I was afraid all my tossing and turning was keeping you awake.

Aidan: Well, you know what? Thanks to your generosity, I now have a well-rested ear that is available for bending if you care to give it a twist.

Greenlee: Ok. Well, um, you know how you said to stay away from J.R. and let you figure out if he's telling the truth about my embryos existing?

Aidan: You know what? I have to stop being surprised when you don't listen to me.

Greenlee: Ok, I couldn't wait. I -- I went to J.R. and I asked him if he knew where they are.

Aidan: And let me guess -- J.R. said, "Of course I do, Greenlee?"

Greenlee: Yes.

Aidan: Yeah?

Greenlee: Yes, and I believe him, Aidan, I do. I mean, he would never have the nerve to ask for so much if he was making it .

Aidan: So what did he ask for?

Greenlee: My shares of Fusion --

Aidan: You're kidding me?

Greenlee: All of them.

Aidan: You're kidding me?

Greenlee: No. He gave me till the end of the day to decide. And what's scaring the hell out of me is I'm considering it.

Greenlee: Which baby do I choose, Aidan? That's -- that's basically what it comes down to. I mean, J.R. wants me to decide between those embryos, my potential children, and the company that I gave birth to more than four years ago.

Aidan: Greenlee, don't let it do your head in, all right? J.R. wants you to think that he holds all the cards.

Greenlee: He does hold all the cards!

Aidan: No, but if what he's telling you is true. But I'm not convinced.

Greenlee: If he is making it up, then he sure knows where to hit where it's going to hurt the worst.

Aidan: Yeah, but you can't -- you can't let him do that to you, all right?

Greenlee: When I think of -- of holding my own baby, hearing someone that I love and adore call me "Mommy," I mean, nothing compares to that. But Fusion -- it nearly killed me when I walked away before. I -- I don't think I could do it again.

Aidan: Well, don't give it up yet.

Greenlee: You know, and the worst part is that no matter what I choose, I still risk hurting Kendall. Damn Zach for putting me in this position in the first place, and damn J.R. for making me choose!

Aidan: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Listen, listen. Well, then don't choose. All right? Maybe I can give you what you want.

Greenlee: When you say you can give me what I want, you --

Aidan: The embryos. Oh, you didn't think I was talking about --

Greenlee: No, I just -- I -- I wasn't sure.

Aidan: Listen, come here. I just want you to give me a little bit more time to see if I can locate them on my own, all right? I'm sure I can find a way past Zach's roadblocks. And if J.R.'s inside man can stumble across the cryo tank, well, then, I tell you what -- I sure as hell can, too.

Greenlee: No, see, I love that you want to help me, Aidan. I do, and if you get me out of this decision, I'm doing cartwheels across this room. No -- you just -- you've been so great to me. But cutting J.R. out of the equation, it's -- it's not an option. He made that real clear.

Aidan: I'm not scared of J.R., Greenlee.

Greenlee: No, it's not that. It's -- it's the second that J.R. finds out that I'm not playing ball with him, he's going to tip off Zach. And once Zach knows that we're on to him, those -- those embryos, they're going to disappear into thin air, just like all my dreams.

Aidan: So you're really going to do this, huh?

Greenlee: I -- I don't know.

Aidan: Listen, I understand how much this means to you, and I'm already starting to realize how much you want to be a mum someday. But if you're really serious about doing this, I think you should talk to Ryan, all right, because his names were on those test tubes, too.

Greenlee: Aidan, we talked about this. I'm not ready to go to Ryan. I don't know if I ever will be. All I know right now is that those embryos are mine. I want them back in my possession. After that, I -- I can't say.

Aidan: And you're really willing to give up Fusion for embryos that you may never use? Hmm?

Greenlee: Maybe I can't help fantasizing about holding my baby for the first time. I know it's -- it's crazy and impossible and --

Aidan: Which is why I'm saying it might be helpful to talk to Ryan.

Greenlee: Whether Ryan's name is on those vials or not, they're still mine. He has no legal claim to them. He gave up that right when he made the anonymous donation.

Aidan: Listen, I'm not talking about legal rights, all right? I'm talking about doing the right thing by the child and the child's father, all right? Before you make such a huge sacrifice and before you give up Fusion for a giant "maybe," at least tell Ryan what you're considering. That's all I'm saying.

Aidan: Look, I know you think telling Ryan the truth could end up in a big disaster, but you know what? He might actually surprise you.

Greenlee: Maybe.
Greenlee: I just -- I finally felt like I could move on, and then hearing about these embryos -- it's like I have to rethink my whole life.

Aidan: I know what you mean. I really -- I -- I get it, believe me, all right? It's not easy for me to suggest to you to go to Ryan, for many reasons.

Greenlee: I know.

Aidan: It's a tough decision, and I'm not going to try and make it tougher. All right? But Ryan is a really good mate of mine, and I don't want to keep something like this from -- you know, from a friend.

Greenlee: So, you're saying that if I don't tell him, you will?

Aidan: I'm saying if you don't tell him, let me know, and I'll put some -- some distance between him and I.

Greenlee: You would stay away from your friend and -- and keep this secret for me?

Aidan: It's not my decision, Greenlee, it's yours. It's up to you, all right? I know how much this decision is -- is eating you up inside. I do. And I do not want to do anything that's going to make you feel any worse than you do now.

Greenlee: Wow. God, I just -- I -- I love -- what I meant to say is just that I'm -- I'm so grateful to you. That -- that's -- that's what I was trying to say. You've just -- you've -- you've been so great to me.

Aidan: Well, you make it easy.

Greenlee: Really, Aidan, these -- these past few weeks have just been a total hell, so having you to talk to, to whine to --

Aidan: I'm sorry, you, whine? No.

Greenlee: I don't want to freak you out. But I've grown dependent on you, Detective Devane. I mean, not in a -- a clingy, annoying sort of way. In -- in -- in a "I hope you're not going anywhere anytime soon" sort of way.

Aidan: Well, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Come here.

Greenlee: I'll do what's right where Ryan's concerned. I'll do what's best for everyone.

11.01.07

Greenlee: Wow, I just -- I sounded obsessed, didn't I? Oh --

Aidan: Um --

Greenlee: Why are you still here?

Aidan: I didn't think you were that bad.

Greenlee: Are you serious? "My embryos, Ryan's baby"? You were never tempted to bail?

Aidan: Nope. Not once -- can you believe it?

Greenlee: I was just -- I was chasing after something I didn't even want anymore.

Aidan: You know, I just -- I thought you were brilliant. You put J.R. back under that big rock.

Greenlee: Oh, my gosh, that smug little smile of his? I just wanted to smack him.

Aidan: You did -- well, I kind of already did that.

Greenlee: You hit him? Oh -- oh! You are my hero.

Aidan: Yeah?

Greenlee: Yeah. God, to hell with J.R., to hell with Zach. I'm free because of you.

Aidan: No, you're free because you are too damn fierce to be messed with by those jerks. Plus, you are extremely hot, and I think this calls for celebration.

Greenlee: Really? Well, I think this is so big that it deserves a special ceremony.

Greenlee: Ha. Ok, I am going to handle this part, you mix the elixir.

Aidan: Oh, there is no elixir. There's just a perfectly good bottle of stout and a fantastic champagne. Are you sure you want me to mix them?

Greenlee: Yes -- I read about it somewhere. There's a punch bowl in the kitchen, but a pitcher will do.

[Greenlee chuckles]

Aidan: Whew.

Greenlee: Sorry.

Aidan: Tell me you're not going to ruin a perfectly good pint of stout?

Greenlee: Stout for you -- bold and manly -- and champagne for me -- sparkly and fun. I mean, I know I haven't felt that remotely in years, but I plan on becoming that again.

Aidan: Oh, sparkly and fun, eh?

Greenlee: Mm-hmm. You got it. So maybe you can just humor me with my silly little ceremony?

Aidan: Nobody said it was silly.

Greenlee: Just help me say goodbye to all of this, to my past. Help me whisk it away, and I'm opening myself to the future.

Aidan: I am right there with you.

Greenlee: Goodbye, old times. Hello, new times.

Aidan: Here's looking at you, kid.

Greenlee: Oh, God.

Aidan: Ah.

Greenlee: That is awful!

Aidan: I wouldn't say "awful."

Greenlee: "Noxious"? "Medicinal"?

Aidan: I don't know. I think it needs more study.

Greenlee: No -- no, no, no, don't do that -- oh, bad.

Aidan: As my grandmother used to say, "In for a penny, love, for a pound." I don't know -- it's unlike anything else. Nobody can say it's bland, though.

Greenlee: Nobody could say it's yummy.

Aidan: I think it's -- it's an acquired taste.

Greenlee: Oh, "an acquired taste"? Right -- like a certain obsessive-compulsive you've had the sorry luck to take on.

Aidan: Oh, come on, now. I wouldn't say -- I wouldn't say "sorry luck."

Greenlee: "Moody"? "Demanding"? And now she is making you drink carbonated sewage. I mean, what did you ever do to deserve that?

Aidan: I don't know. Maybe I did something brave and very noble in a former life.

Greenlee: But in this life, you're putting up with my complaints, my fixations, my stunts.

Aidan: Greenlee --

Greenlee: Yes?

Aidan: Don't do that.

Greenlee: What?

Aidan: Well, I actually have a thing for the girl that you're trashing.

Greenlee: Oh.

Aidan: All right? I see you as crazy beautiful on the inside. And on the outside, fearless --

Greenlee: Reckless.

Aidan: Brutally, painfully honest with herself. Always admits her mistakes, and she tries to fix what she breaks.

Greenlee: Some of those things can't be fixed.

Aidan: And when you love, you love big. And when you hurt -- oh, you let it rip. You know, but you're full of forgiveness. You're alive -- more than most people could ever be. I'm crazy about you.

Greenlee: Wow. You're in trouble, mate.

Aidan: Oh, yeah?

Greenlee: Yeah.

Aidan: Bring it on.

Greenlee: Really?

[Greenlee laughs]

Aidan: Hmm.

Greenlee: Careless of me to have left this undone.

Aidan: Why did you get ahead of me? How did that happen?

Greenlee: Oh, do I -- do I need to slow down?

Aidan: I'd rather catch up.

Greenlee: Hey -- um -- warning.

Aidan: What?

Greenlee: I don't do so well with praise -- it makes me crazier than I already am. It's not too late to save yourself.

Aidan: Oh. I don't want to be saved from you, though.

Greenlee: What if I'd taken J.R.'s deal? What if I had mine and Ryan's embryos? Would you want to be saved then?

Aidan: I'm too far gone to know.

Greenlee: You know, you were right. You were right about everything.

Aidan: Can I get that on tape, please?

Greenlee: You told me to talk to Ryan.

Aidan: Well, that's a no-brainer, that one.

Greenlee: Not to me. I was crazed in my fantasyland of wanting to be part of his extended family, adding on -- I keep talking about this. If you don't want to hear it, it's --

Aidan: Listen, I want to hear as much as -- as you want to tell.

Greenlee: The -- the Slaters and the Laverys and -- huh -- baby and me, one big, emotional commune. What was I thinking?

Aidan: I don't think you were thinking. You were -- you were yearning. It's a completely different part of the brain.

Greenlee: I don't want to be the add-on to somebody's family. I want a family of my own. I don't want the man who let me down. I don't want to be tolerated by Ryan. I don't even want to be quasi-attached to the Slaters and Laverys. Even if Ryan had offered me that -- which he didn't in a very big way -- it wouldn't have been the answer. I want to be the center of somebody's universe. Somebody who's the center of mine.

Greenlee: Hey. I'll be right back, ok?

Singer: It's amazing to see me reading through this scene of love and fear ô

Greenlee: I love you.

Singer: And apologies apologies apologies apologies ô

11.13.2007
Greenlee: So, um, and now what?

Aidan: "Now what?" Well, now, I have to prove that you are not a baby-stealing crazy woman.

Greenlee: Right. You know, you're the crazy one.

Aidan: I'm the crazy -- why? Because I like fuzzy mints?

Greenlee: Yes.

[Greenlee chuckles]

Greenlee: But you set off fireworks at my trial, you --

Aidan: Uh-huh.

Greenlee: You rescued me in a fireman's uniform. You dressed me as a man, and you threw me on a motorcycle and told me to ride like hell on wheels.

Aidan: Well, you are that, you know. "Hell on wheels."

Greenlee: And you're definitely crazy.

Aidan: Or maybe I just missed you.

Greenlee: So, how long are you going to be gone for?

Aidan: Um -- I got a lot to do. The first order of business, though, is checking out Kendall's computer -- see if I can find that zombie program that she used to plant that fake diary on your laptop.

Greenlee: Great. Sounds like a piece of cake.

Aidan: Well, the hard part's going to be getting past Zach's alarm system. But once I've done that, I should be able to trace everything back to Kendall. The diary, the chloroform, the -- the plane tickets. You know, the phony birth certificate, all of it.

Greenlee: All right, well, all in a day's work. Huh. Or week's.

Aidan: Listen, Greenlee, I'm going to be back as soon as I can, all right?

Greenlee: Yeah.

Aidan: My friends in Canada are going to take good care of you.

Greenlee: You know, I can take care of myself. I can just stay here.

Aidan: No, you can't do that. I want you safe. Canada is safe.

Greenlee: How soon until you have to go?

Aidan: I have to go now.

Greenlee: Oh. Great. Well, what a relief. I mean, what's a girl got to do to get you out of this place? I mean, I need to fix it up. I got to strip the curtains and the beds, and I got to put some bars on the window, so it'll look like cell sweet cell.

Aidan: Come here. You're going to be fine, all right? I'll be back soon.

[After going out the door, Aidan returns for more kisses]

Aidan: Oh.

Greenlee: Hmm. You are amazing and brave and strong and brilliant.

Aidan: I bet you had your doubts when I told you to plead guilty, huh?

Greenlee: No -- yes, but then I trusted you quickly. I mean, come on, a dashing firefighter came and saved me.

Aidan: Well, you know what they say. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Greenlee: And then you lifted me over your shoulder.

Aidan: What, like this?

Greenlee: Yes -- oh, Aidan -- oh -- come on.

[Greenlee laughs]

Greenlee: You know, you did save me. I mean, at first, the bars were closing in on me, and now -- now, you want to clear my name. And even after all of that, the best part -- you just came through that door.

Aidan: I heard you the other night.

Greenlee: When? What?

Aidan: The other night when you went to see Kendall, you thought I was sleeping. I heard you. I love you, too.

[As music plays, Aidan and Greenlee undress each other and make love in the cabin]

Singer: You will never shiver in the rain. You will never have to live a life of shame. You will never turn out the light and know there's no one waiting watching over you ô

Singers: When the thunder comes, I'm there right by your side. When the water falls, I'm there to keep you warm and dry. I don't know if I have ever been this strong before ô

Singer: Your love makes me something more ô

Greenlee: It's weird. I've spent so much time living in the past. And then I was all about the future -- what I wanted, what I didn't want. But now I know. I want this. I want now.

11.15.07

Aidan: Where are you going in that beautiful head of yours, hmm?

Greenlee: To a place where I don't exist. I want to disappear forever, Aidan.

Aidan: Forever, huh? That's a pretty long time. You know, I would miss you.

Greenlee: Huh.

[Aidan chuckles]

Greenlee: Aidan. You misunderstand me. Yes, I want to disappear, but -- I want to disappear with you. You know, go to a place where no one can find us, where we just start over, you and me.

Aidan: It sounds incredible. But the thing is, Greenlee, you didn't do anything wrong, and I'm not going to have you live like that. I'm taking you to the border, and then I'm going to go back to Pine Valley, and I'm going to clear your name.

Greenlee: But then what? I mean, what does proving my innocence really get me? A trip back to Pine Valley where everyone already despises me, and let's not forget how I feel about them. Loathing, disgust -- the list, it goes on and on and on, so going back to Pine Valley, it's just -- it's a lose/lose.

Aidan: Listen, I'm not saying that -- we can't start over, because we can, all right? We can have whatever life you want wherever we want. Understood? But not until these charges against you are dropped.

Greenlee: Ok.

Aidan: Are you still with me on this?

Greenlee: Reporting for duty, sir.

Aidan: Ooh. I don't think I've ever seen a salute look so bloody sexy.

Greenlee: Hmm.

Aidan: I don't want to leave you, Greenlee.

Greenlee: I'm scared, Aidan.

Aidan: Well, listen, don't be, all right? I'm going to clear your name. It's just going to take me a little bit of time, that's --

Greenlee: No, no, that's not what I mean. I'm scared that if you leave, we're not going to find each other again.

Greenlee: I don't want to let you go.

Aidan: I assure you, it's only for a little while, all right? Trust me when I say I'm going to get you out of this.

[Noise]

Greenlee: What was that?

Aidan: It's my stomach. I'm starving.

Greenlee: Yeah, me, too. Oh, God, I would kill for a burger right now.

Aidan: Well, I don't think I could get you a burger, but -- I could probably get you something from the convenience store that we passed. Remember the one?

Greenlee: Edible Works.

Aidan: I'm going to be right back, ok?

Greenlee: No -- we'll be right back. I'm coming with you.

Aidan: Listen, I don't think that's a good idea. You need to keep a low profile until you're at least out of the country. Your picture could be plastered on every TV station from here to California.

Greenlee: Yeah, well, I hope it's a good picture, not one where my hair is a disaster.

Aidan: Listen, if you're frightened of being alone, don't worry because look what I got you.

Greenlee: Alfonso! Oh! When -- how -- when did --

Aidan: I brought it from your apartment right before the hearing. I wanted you to always have company. I'll be back before you know it, ok?

Greenlee: Everyone I've loved, I've lost. Let's not have that happen again.
Aidan: Greenlee, get your things.

Greenlee: What? Why? What's going on?

Aidan: The guy at the store -- he looked at me funny. There must be an APB out on us already, and if he saw it, well, then we're in trouble.

Greenlee: Oh, my God, Aidan. What are we going to do?

Aidan: We leave. We leave now.

Aidan: No, we'll have to get the bikes and get out of here, come on.

Greenlee: No, Aidan, I think I forgot Alfonso.

Aidan: There's no -- no time, all right? Come on. Damn it.

Greenlee: What?

Aidan: There are cars coming this way.

Greenlee: For us?

Aidan: Get back in the house. Quick, get back in the house.

Aidan: They're definitely headed here. You're going to have to go, Greenlee, all right? You're going to have to go now.

Greenlee: What? No.

Aidan: I'm serious. Listen. Here's my phone and the keys. Go on one of the bikes and ride like hell, all right?

Greenlee: Without you?

Aidan: Well, yeah, I'm going to have to stay here and stall the police.

Greenlee: No, no. No, no, no, I can't do this alone.

Aidan: Listen, darling, you can. All right? You can do anything. I promise you, trust me. I love you. Here. Take this.

Greenlee: I love you, too.

Aidan: I'm going to come for you as soon as I can, all right? I promise. Go, Greenlee. Go. Go.

Greenlee: Ok, ok.
