Mega Battle Results

How did the 40k mega battle go? Anyone want to do a short battle report for those of us that didn't make it to it? You dont got to go crazy maybe just the forces and short results?

OK, the game started off poorly for the Imperium.
High roll to be General was a 3.. so you know what kind of day we had.

I fielded 1500 pts of Vulkan Salamanders
Skeem ran 750 in Templars
Parker ran 750 in Templars
Gary had 750 in Dark Angels
Shocked Spark was playing 750 in Smurfs.

I won the General title by rolling a 3 and we deployed skeem on the left flank and gary on the right. I held the next 2 slots from the left, then Shocked Spark , then parker supporting Gary.

On the evil side we had
Kaiser soze with 750 in tyranids
Matt with 750 in Dark Eldar
Geoff with 750 in Demons
Matt with 750 in Tau
an orc player with 750
and a marine player who jumped sides.

i fielded 1500 because i showed with my whole army and the sides were uneven. everyone else brought 750.


The forces of evil had a good day.. i was basically on the left flank with skeem, since Shocked Spark was wiped off the table by turn 3 or so..

so on the left flank skeem was fighting the nids and doing well. i did well vs the Dark Eldar but took a beating from the demons and those darn flamers... the tau took a few shots at my armor destroying a dread in the process. the right flank didnt do as well.

all in all. it was a devastating loss for the imperium who only managed to hold 1 objective out of 12.
not sure how many the forces of evil had. but it was definately more.

everyone had a really good time, much joking and humor.

yeah ididnt really stand alot of a chance facing orks and tau. in turn 1 I belive the tau player killed off most of my sinper sqaud with telion and made him flee. then with the tau giving the oks firing suport they poped my tanks with the hammerhea and then had the orks killed the remaining marines.(but not with out a fight ) then last turn it left me with my lascannon combat sqaud and telion and a lone sniper scout(who by the way needed to check the sights on his scope). the game was very injoyable and was also a battle where i learned more about the tau and orks

shocked spark & parker were set up in front of the orks & tau.
750 for shock & parker - 750 oks & tau.
plus gary deepstruck his deathwing to help with the orks

and the orks & tau still crushed them.
and i believe gary took a beating from the smurf player.

it is really SAD to say but smurf player was too busy painting NIDS that he forgot to shoot twice but still lost the right flank.

my Terminators didn't last long enough for us to whittle them down enough.
and tau hitting the others transports just left us open.

and the surprise attack from the Genestealers from the right flank was just another nail in the coffin....

ah the imperium got beat up on it seems, least u guys got a good variety of players

I was the traitor! one genestealer squad makes up for 2 missed shooting phases. Evil rocks! Charlie was the best imperial player, the only one holding an objective on his team. I think that evil had 4-6 objectives, but it may have been more. I know that my table had all 3 objectives and that we also had one or two in the middle table. I was there for a durable and powerful shield and got ignored which allowed some shots through. All marines against all Xenos and a Smurf. It was a fun and interesting battle, but not anywhere as fun as the one I played after that.
