When is it time to write.....for me there is no right or wrong time...i write when things are in my mind and need to be put on paper...i make sure i always carry a notepad with me...and if i dont i speak the words into the recorder on my telephone...there are countless times when i am driving and something comes to mind that i have to record so i dont forget!!!

I also love sitting at my table with the laptop open and a completely blank page and just ramble and see where they take me...suddenly something happens and from that lines in my notepad and from the phone suddenly find a place and then i see a poem begin to form... biggrin.gif

Hmmm... For some reason, I feel the urge to write early in the morning when my head is clear and I am drinking my cup of Joe! Quiet here too.

For me, as the day wears on, I am overwhelmed and can't sit still long enough to capture a thought. At night, I am too tired and though I have tried, nothing seems to run around in this old brain of mine.

Thanks for the Forum, I love it

I tend to write most prolifically/easily in the small hours when I am alone, everybody else is asleep and perhaps after a glass of red wine.

Increasingly, however, the line or two that usually kickstarts my work appears to be manifesting themselves at inconvenient times, like when I'm driving or when I'm nodding off to sleep. I suspect it is because those are the times I am alone with my thoughts and/or am most reflective.

To be fair having a three year old and a six year old, my only writing time is when they're asleep! I write most effectively in the early evening, around 7-9 pm, but when the children are away I can work through to 3am or dawn depending on whether what I'm working on needs to be in on deadline etc. Usually after ten it's my chilling time, so I read and comment on others' blogs, blog myself or just curl up with a book. Boring, but I'm a creature of habit!

I usually find myself in the writing mood either early in the morning or late at night. Various things might spark the creative fires in me throughout the day, but those are the most consistent times I would say. Makes for some fun writings, but I'm sure my body hates me for it!

All hours... All times. It is sometimes inconvenient for me, I'll be walking to the bus stop, or falling asleep and have to pull out my phone and tip-tap on the key pad (and remember to hit save!) to put down the words that are bouncing in my head. Other times it keeps me up until ungodly hours, but I go with it. What else can I do?
