Synopsis: Alcazar seeks out the assistance of one Sean Connely in order to perk up her hunting toys and tricks.

She had to be careful with Kylie on the road with her now and that was part of the reason she had suggested Chicago. Plenty for little sister to see and do while Alcazar investigated the local hot spots. Of course the girls did some clubbing together and that was exactly what Alcazar was dressed for in all truth for she was meeting Kylie at a nightclub after her little meeting with a Sean Connely (Who ever that was Alcazar wasn't exactly sure) But she had been told through a few old hunting contacts that he was the one to talk with if she needed something occult.

Just line yer pockets. Alcazar remembered them saying. Getting money wasn't that hard for her. She'd just loot extra wallets if she needed it. Plus she still had some of Damon's money if she desperately needed to tap into that. There was no way in hell she'd ask Balthazar for it in all honesty but she wasn't going be more in debt to him. No this would come from her no matter what the fuck she had to do get the money.

Finding the bar, Alcazar was only a minute or two early (for her that was a miracle) and the long legged Latina pulled the door open as she looked around the bar. Of course she knew what he'd be wearing so they could meet up but she wasn't exactly comfortable with some boozers staring at her as she wore the short red dress. Well they try anything Alcazar had no problem busting their heads in. But she doubt they would. Maybe they were the welcoming party.

Sitting at the end of the bar, Alcazar kept a firm eye the door as she ordered a beer. Cautiously she sipped it knowing that just because 'Sean Connely' had a handy bunch of connections the association with his last name seemed to accumulate a little bit of swears. Well, she'd give him five minutes. If he didn't seem like a charming man she'd totally bail and maybe dump her beer on his head for a parting gift. Crossing her legs, Alcazar took a swig and for once felt naked due to not being armed with any weapon.

He had five more minutes to show up or she'd have to skip clubbing and Al didn't want to skip that.

Sean didn't show up to business meetings early. Since he always held them in places that were "his" - in the sense that he frequented the place, not that he owned it - there wasn't a point to getting there to scout it out. Nor did he particularly care about not keeping his clients waiting. Obviously he couldn't afford to lose the business, but if they had business that brought them to him, they likely didn't have a lot of other options. Waiting until he showed up precisely on time wouldn't kill them.

He was currently around the block, smoking next to a pay phone. He was expecting a call and when it finally came, he tossed the cigarette to the ground and picked up the handset. "Yo, she there?" he asked immediately. Louis, the bartender at the bar Alcazar was waiting at, affirmed that she was, then asked if she was a pro. "Nah, man, keep your dick in your pants. Probably would charge more than you could afford if she was." He hung up and headed to the bar, walking in right when he said he'd be there.

It was easy to spot her, and not because she was the only non-regular at the bar. Sean walked over and took the next stool, signaling to Louis that he wanted a beer. Though the man knew he wasn't 21, he served him anyway. That was why he loved neighborhood joints.

"You're either Rivera, or you're incredibly lost," he said to her, letting his eyes scrape down her body in indication that he meant her outfit. "Girls here normally dress up like that to leave the neighborhood, not come and hang out in dumps like this. Unless they're crack whores." Sean took a pull of his beer, giving the room a quick glance. Though Rivera was getting looks, only one guy was close enough to overhear their conversation unless she was just louder than necessary.

"Fuck off, we've got business to discuss," Sean told him. The other guy rolled his eyes, but left. Plenty of bar stools in less hostile areas. Sean turned his gaze back to his client.

"So, Rivera. Discuss. What brings you to my door?"

Taking a swig of her beer, Alcazar glanced over at Sean when he used her first name. “Call me Al,” She informed him. “You must be Sean Connelly,” Alcazar added as she replaced her beer on the counter. Eyeing him up and down, the Latina allowed a smile to cross her lips. Crossing her legs again, Alcazar chuckled at his comments and took another swig of her beer. Alcazar's hand slipped from the beer bottle and extended it to him. “If so its a joy to meet ya.”

“Ohhh sounds like home. But actually, my sister and I are going clubbing after this.” Alcazar told him as she collected her beer and picked at the label. “You're welcome to come if you want. We always welcome the company.” She added with a wink. “I'm sure Kylie won't mind one bit at the company.” However she dropped the flirting when he spoke to the guy behind them. “Estoy planeando en el donante le de un buen rato a la derecha aquí en el piso. ¿Usted quiere estar seguro de escuchar eso? ¿No? Adiós entonces.”* Alcazar asked.

Looking at Sean, Alcaar smiled. “Couldn't let you be the only one who tells him to piss off now can I?” Turning her full attention back to Sean, Alcazar scooted her beer away before sitting straight and brushing her hair over her shoulder. “I'm looking for something actually.” Reaching into her purse, Alcazar pulled the page from the old book she had stolen from the library a county over. They weren't going to miss it since it seemed to be in a part of the library that wasn't checked out by anyone but hunters. She could tell that by the dust on them.

Unfolding it, she slid it across the bar to Sean. “It's book actually.” She informed him. “I've got a certain issue that I need to take care of.” Alcazar wasn't going to go into details over how she wanted to maybe find a way out getting her soul back from Balthazar. The plan was basically something she was making up as she went along anyways so who knew it if it would work actually. She didn't. “I need to summon a creature but make sure it can't use it's power on me after I make it good and pissed off at me.” Taking a quick sip of her beer, Alcazar nodded to the picture. “I think its called the Book of Largas.” Alcazar stated all ready knowing her accent on the a was probably off but didn't stop to apologize over it. She wasn't that type of girl and trying to say it probably would only make her seem like a dumb ass.

*-I am planning on giving him a good time right here on the floor. You wanna be sure to listen to that? No? Bye bye then.

Sean didn't really acknowledge his name. Obviously he was who she was here to meet; how else would he have known who she was and that she was here? He did shake the offered hand, however, quickly before dropping it and picking up the glass of beer Louis placed in front of him.

Idly he wondered if Rivera was hitting on him to some point. Sean had noticed that when he worked with girls sometimes – especially girls who thought they were hot – that they flirted with the expectation of getting a lower price. She'd find out fast that wasn't the case here. This was how Sean supported his family, and no one got a discount, for any reason. “Not really my scene,” he passed, not sure why he was being invited anyway.

He raised his brows when she turned and spouted at a guy in Spanish. She said something about needing to tell him off too, for whatever reason, and he just shook his head. “Well, if you want, but old Roy over there doesn't speak a word of Spanish. So if you actually wanted him to understand you telling him to piss off, you didn't succeed.” He nodded to the bar around them. “Irish bar. Not so much with the multilingual patrons.” Except Sean, of course. He'd taken Spanish in high school, and hadn't really used it since, but his mind was like an iron trap. He had understood enough to get the point of what she said. “If anyone had understood you though, you wouldn't be really dissuading them that you're NOT a prostitute. If that's something you don't enjoy, you might want to watch that,” he advised.

Sean figured she'd be looking for something – that's why people come to him – and so didn't comment and just let her pull the ripped book page out of her purse. A book? “Do I look like a library to you?” he asked, but nevertheless taking the paper she slid across to him. Sean pretty much would track down anything, within reason, but the weirder things were going to be more time consuming, and therefore more expensive. He did actually have a couple rare books in his collection, but not the Book of Largas. Hadn't ever heard of it actually.

“And what is the Book of Largas?” he asked, skimming the page she'd given him. Sean didn't need to know or really even care about what she wanted with it – he made it his business to not pry. But he needed to know what kind of book it was if he was going to try and track it down.

When Sean turned down the club offer, Alcazar shrugged and gave a look like it was fine by her. Scratching her arm, Alcazar listened to him comment about the other guy. She glanced over at him and raised an eyebrow. “He can think I'm the reincarnation of Mother Thersea with Jlo's ass, no skin off my back.” People always were thinking the wrong thing about her anyways so Alcazar was good with it. If they didn't take the time to meet her, like Sean was doing, and just tossed out insults to her then Alcazar didn't give a shit. As long as there was no ass grabbing she was fine with it.

When he commented about the book, Alcazar's eyebrow rose. “It's a book.” She informed him playing the reason for it close to her chest. Of course she could come up with a snotty reply on why she was needing the book and his library remark but the Latina bit her tongue, deep, and fought to keep it civil. Play nice, Zarrie. Play nice, you need this bitchin book.

Taking a deep breath, Alcazar shrugged. “Its a book that supposedly has hiding rituals and spells.” Alcazar informed him. “Heck, if you don't wanna help me find it for some green just point me in the right direction and I'll go get it myself.” Alcazar stated. “It would just take longer and its sorta needed as soon as possible.” She typically wasn't the one to offer doing the heavy lifting herself, hell she did a lot of it herself before she met the detective that was now digging into her past. But she needed some one like Sean to help her out. Needing help was something Alcazar sucked at. Admitting it was even harder.

Bringing her purse up, Alcazar rested it on her lap before looking at Sean. “Listen I'm not good at this bullshit okay?” She informed him bluntly. “Asking for help and all that shit, because it makes me seem like I'm some little Mary Sue who needs it nearly twenty four seven. Just if you can do it...how much?” Alcazar inquired after taking a drink of her beer to sedate the information spillage. She could pay what he requested. Depending on how much he requested Alcazar would just have to pay in installments.

Sean's eyebrows lifted very slightly when Alcazar offered zero information on the type of book she was looking for. “Yeah, got that bit,” he shot back good-naturedly. “Look, you don't want to tell me why you need it, that's fine. It's your business, and I try to not get involved in client's business more than necessary. But I at least need to know what sort of book it is so I know where to look for it.”

Sean knew the book wasn't in his family's supply, so he had a couple options about where to go looking for it. He'd never heard of the thing, which meant it might be rare, which cut the list in half. When he heard it contained rituals and spells, that cut the list again. Still though, knowing what KIND of rituals might narrow it down further. There were as many kinds of magic as there were nationalities, more maybe. But Sean didn't want to press his luck with this one. Rivera seemed like she had a short fuse, especially when she started going on about how she'd do it herself. Not one to coddle women when they were going on like this, Sean just let her while he pulled out his phone and flipped through the contacts.

Probably Philip, he decided, though he'd also get in contact with Mark and.... Gemma. They were all pretty well known for dealing in the rare or interesting and if they didn't have it, one of them might at least know more about the book and point him in the right direction.

Having ignored Alcazar while doing that, he turned his attention back to her when she got more reasonable. “Listen, whatever issues you have asking for help aside, coming to me is hardly playing a damsel in distress. You're trying to find what is probably a rare book. Unless you've got a lot of experience in tracking those down, paying someone who does doesn't make you weak, it makes you smart.” Not the world's best pep talk, but Sean wasn't really the guy to go to for that anyway.

Speaking of payment. He gave a half shrug, taking a pull of his drink. “Whatever I have to pay to get the book, plus my fee. Too soon to give you an estimate, since I'm not sure about the book's value or how hard it's going to be to find. You don't have to pay me for the thing until I know I can get my hands on it though. But you don't get it until I get my money either. If price is an issue, I will sometimes take trades, if they're not going to be hard to resell.” Meaning not super rare volumes, mostly. Sometimes he'd take them if he was sure that one of his contacts would definitely be interested, but he didn't want to tie up his capital in hard to sell objects. Most of what he made went to his family, with some held in reserve so he could do things like buy product.

“If we've got a deal, I'll see what I can find out for you by this time tomorrow. If it takes longer than that to track it down, I can either just call you when I find it, or call you with updates,” he offered. He'd worked with all types, from those who wanted to know everything he did to find it, to those who just wanted the damn thing and didn't care how it happened. “So whaddya say?”

Alcazar looked at Sean with a look of enjoyment that not only did he give as good as he got but he also understood the privacy of the matter. So far most of the people she had met along the way had demanded to know the usual. Who. What. When. Why. How. Questions she didn't want to share. So the first words that came out of her mouth where ones that Alcazar didn't say that often and when she did say them she meant them. “Thank you.” Falling silent she dug around in her purse for a minute and produced an address for a business man near by and slid it across to him. “This was the last known place it was at,” Alcazar stated. “I tried to track it down even more but well the trail went fuzzy. Apparently it was sold at some auction to a private buyer and he payed cash so there was no credit trail.”

The Latina had no problem tracking things, after all she was researching her own family and trying to find who her family was but even that was falling on her face. So when in doubt call in help. But the book was something she needed for Balthazar and her connection to him. “Gee thanks, your totally my kind of prince charming anyways,” Alcazar informed him with a smile. She was being playful, slightly, having his agreeing not ask questions had made her lighten up slightly. Not enough to let her guard down but enough to add some playful banter. But she fell silent as he talked about tracking down some things. “I'm good at tracking believe me. Just not where the trail is colder then a stiff in the morgue.” She informed him with a raised eyebrow. “I just ran into a very thick brick wall.”

She nodded when he talked about the money. “Well you've got my number,” Alcazar agreed. Money was a bit of a tough one for her but she had not only been squirreling away money for a while, she also had Damon who would hopefully send her some extra cash if she needed it. The young Latina needed that book and would do anything to get it.

“We've got a deal,” she agreed as she slipped her purse over her shoulder before looking at Sean. “Like I said, you've got my number so feel free to call any time. The phone's always on.” The Latina fell silent again before repeating the same words she had started with. “Thanks.”

Sean picked up the business card Rivera slid over to him, light eyes scanning it briefly before shoving it deep in one of his pockets. A lead was good, even if it was a cold one. “I don't really deal in credit trails anyway,” he reassured her. He knew a lot of guys who would buy something like that, and if it wasn't one of them they might know who had beaten them out for it. He gave her a wry, cocky grin. “Brick walls are my specialty.”

The young hunter nodded when she agreed to his terms. Hopefully he'd have some information at least on the price he was going to charge her soon, but it really depended on what he was going to have to pay for the book. Whoever had it now might not want to part with it easily.

“Yeah, I'll call you when I get any info on this book of yours,” he agreed. “You've got my number too, if you hear anything else or need an update.” Sean downed the rest of his drink, then pulled out his wallet and left enough money on the counter to pay for both their drinks. “Nice meeting you, Rivera. I'll talk to you soon,” he promised.
