Name: Kelris
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Rank: Hunter
Appearence: Tall, dark and handsome, Kelris is a perfect specimen of what the male population should look like. With finely chiseled features and sun-tanned skin, he makes a striking figure. His hair is kept long and shows signs of exceptional grooming. He often wears it long, allowing it to cascade in gentle waves. Bright silver eyes observe everyone and everything with an intense ferocity that may seem creepy at times.
He is a tall man, though slender in build. What muscle he has is lean, though he is more of a pretty boy than anything else. He doesn't worry about his lack of physical fitness, figuring that his pretty face will get him all the attention he needs. He accents his best features with fine clothing often in bright blues to bring out the color of his eyes.
Personality: When asked what sin he may be afflicted with, Kelris would have to answer with greed. While this mean he can drive a hard bargain and knows how to spend wisely, it also means that if he sees a way to make a profit, he will take the opportunity, no matter how it may affect others. He has been betrothed to many women, wooing them with his good looks and affable charm, only to be chased off by fathers able to see past the mask. He has also had a hand in various odd jobs, though does not enjoy work that is too strenuous. Kelris never was a fan of hard labor. After all, calloused hands and dirt smudged cheeks will never get him the attention he deserves.
Along with his greedy nature, Kelris is also quite the narcissist. He is completely obsessed with his appearance, and loves nothing more than to own the latest fashions. Most of his earnings go toward his ever enlarging wardrobe and he will nearly cry over a ripped tunic or stained pair of pants if he liked them well enough.
As for his social interactions, Kelris is quite the charmer. He woos women with flattery and false devotion. After all, all women want to be noticed by a handsome man, and while he isn't the prettiest of them, he certainly knows how to play up his looks. Despite his constant flirting with women, Kelris's tendencies actually lie elsewhere, in the form of men. Unfortunately, his preferences are unlikely to yield him any profits, and so spends much of his time with the opposite sex.
Kelris is completely without morals. It bothers him to kill a person the same amount it does to swat down a fly. If asked to justify his actions, he is more likely to shrug than to give a true answer. Of course, he is a master at acting, and can portray any emotion perfectly with the knowledge that in the end he will get what he wants.
History: Having grown up amongst traders, Kelris quickly learned all the tricks of the trade. Soon enough he was out there haggling with the best of him and often managed to sell the most. The idea of making money was like a game to him. A very addictive game. Soon enough he was exploring other ways to make a few quick and easy marks and as he grew older and began to learn of women, he realized the value in rich spoiled girls.
By seventeen, he had already married three or four well-to-do young women, each far enough that they would never hear of each other, and had made quite a profit from the dowries he had run off with. Unfortunately, he fell upon hard time not long after that and was soon ready to do any job as long as it provided him a decent pay.
That was when he met Jeithrew. A dragon hunter, the man made a profit by catching ferals and skinning them for their hides and then selling them. No one complained; after all, the ferals were terrifying man-eating beasts and their hides made good wall-hangings. Jeithrew hired Kelris and the young man seemed to take to the job quite nicely. In the span of 3 years, he managed to make himself enough money to begin living the way he was used to.
After his successful career got started, Jeithrew informed him of rumors of a new kind of dragon. Their hides were much more brightly colored, which meant that people would pay a fortune. At that point, only two colors had been seen, one gold and the other bronze. Jeithrew assumed they were simply mutated ferals. After all, no one expected dragonriders to ever return.
So it was that Kelris set out to find these fabled beasts, and a few months later, found himself at Obsidian Weyr, on the night of the hatching feast...
