Four vases with long necks, two with short, three of the above with a single handle, one with two, and the others handle lacking. Five necklaces, three of a green color, one of red, another of silver and black, the other a dull brown. Two rings with inset stones, one of a pale white and the other a brilliant orange-red. All items are in moderate condition, some with small cracks that could be mended with the right tools, while others, such as the black and silver necklace, are bent at obviously wrong angles. All of these items seem to indicate....
N'eal continued to write on, pale hand moving fast across the parchment on the desk he sat at. Occasionally lifting the artifacts he was reporting about, the boy handled them delicately, brushing away any dust he saw. Pausing for a moment as another cramp attacked his fingers, the blond let go of his pen, setting it beside his paper and stood, flexing his digits so that they wouldn't lock once more. Their writing... It is similar, but there are some differences. The thought kept going through his mind as he looked once more at a piece of paper he had found that somehow didn't crumble at his touch.
Žeyržoman Ricarda of Gold Rilith __ Žeyrleader Rėran of Bronze Katalth N'eal frowned for a moment, wondering what the 'ė' in Rėran was before reading on. Three než species of dragonkind žere discovered under the leaders of Midnight Žeyrš Their names are as folložed __ Naryfl __ Carnadh __ Uruvion __ All of a reddish and orangish hue that seemed to have spouted from the threatening volcanoč giving Midnight Žeyr its nameč for žhen it eruptsč ėtis alžays midnight. There žere other strange dragon breeds bred from the mating of Rilith and Katalth as žell including the rare Fainaur, Ithilžen, Tragvac, Fael, and Morcion. For those not at the Hatching, the above appeared.... The writing continued, but Naeal put it down next to the paper he was scribing on.
"I would wonder what some of those dragons are, but two of-" Them were at the Hatching. That is what you were going to say, right Mine? Aidoth happily interrupted, trotting into the cluttered room with his wings closely held against his side, for he knew that the records there were important and knocking them over was not a good nor acceptable thing. N'eal chuckled but nodded, stretching his glove-held hands. "Exactly." He replied, lifting his arms and stretching them as well. I know you were wondering what those zee like letters were nowadays. They would be double-u's. Aidoth said after a brief pause, satisfaction lacing his voice that he could tell his Mine something that he didn't already know.

((Hope you don't mind my intrusion))
Rihanna had been exploring the Weyr still, even after her Impression of the most unlikely sort to a brown dragon by the name Vhenoth. Well, she supposed she was called Ri'nna now, or at least that was how Vhenoth referred to her. She wasn't sure if her name had to be changed or not, because she was female. She'd find out form someone else later. For now, she was Rihanna, Ri, or Ri'nna. Three names... wow. Too bad she hadn't really met anyone and had any friends where any of the three names were really remembered. Of course, it was recorded in records of the Hatching, but she didn't expect anyone to want to be all that close to her.
The girl walked into a room, one known as the Records Room. Normally unoccupied, well, when she'd come which had been hours at which everyone else was probably sleeping, she was surprised when she actually did run into someone.
A male someone.
Ri started to turn to take her leave of the room before she was noticed. But the brown dragonet, Vhenoth, was there to stop her. The boy in the room, or young man, or whatever, had a blue.
Go in, dearmine. He does not seem harmful, Vhenoth suggested, butting her gently.
Rihanna smiled slightly, watching the brown for a few moments. She sighed wistfully. I don't know.... People can appear innocent when they're not, she responded.
If you do not want to you do not have to, but it may be good for you. Not all males are bad, he said. I know that. You're one of the few I like. she said.
She sighed and turned back. She figured by now he'd probably noticed her presence. "H... Hello. Sorry... if I interrupted anything," she said quietly, in a mix of fast and slow, giving it a rather awkward overall pace.
Leave it to Ri to make a weird, awkward entrance.

( Course not. )
N'eal blinked in surprise when he heard Ri's voice, vaguely wondering why Aidoth hadn't told him the girl was there. Putting his pen down, he turned around on the outdated stool he sat on, it creaking slightly under his sleight weight, truly showing how old it was. "Hello, and now, just writing down some information the Weyrleaders wanted." He greeted her, giving a slight wave as he looked at both her and Vhenoth. Brown. He thought specifically to himself, attempting to have Aidoth not hear it yet, though that was unlikely.
"I'm N'eal." He said, surprised a bit by his sudden talkativeness, for he was usually quiet, especially among the other gender though that was no certain rule. Which is why you should try and get out more, Mine. Aidoth told him, giving a bob of his head to his clutch-brother. Vhenoth. He said simply, his eyes a pleasant blue-green color as he extended his wings slightly, for he'd found a recently cleared out spot where he doubted he would hit anything. And if he did, it would probably crumble, so if his Mine complained, he could merely retort that why hadn't he moved them if they were so valuable?

Ri watched N'eal still, unsure of him, wary. The only reason she felt even somewhat comfortable speaking with him was the brown dragonet behind her. Vhenoth was the only reason that Rihanna hadn't disappeared and said nothing to the young man. But the Brown never pushed her very hard or very much. It was somewhat ironic, because he probably got her to do more that way than any other way. He was gentle, and she thanked him for that.
"Oh.... okay," Ri said quietly, watching him with blue eyes. Vhenoth bumped her from behind, just a gentle nudge.
Good, you're making headway, Vhenoth commented.
"My name's.... Ri... or Rihanna... or Ri'nna... whatever you want to call me," she said rather awkwardly. It was amazing to her how she alwasys eemed to end up in situations where she was talking to men, but had far fewer experiences with females.
Even if he wanted to hurt you, I'm here. He wouldn't dare, Vhenoth commented.
Rihanna nodded slightly in response, glad for the comfort of having him near.
Good day, Vhenoth. How are you?

Wondering why the Brown Weyrling spoke so slow, N'eal mentally shrugged it off to shyness. Everybody had their days. "Well, Ri is the simplest, so I think I'll stick with that." He said, giving her a slight and rare smile, though it was hardly more than a tiny curving of his lips. Fiddling with the removable tips of his custom made gloves, the young boy looked awkwardly down at the ground and then the ceiling for a moment, quietly biting the inside of his lip in though. What to say, what to say....
"What do you think of this place, Mid-I mean, Obsidian Weyr?" He asked her, giving a broad gesture that encompassed the entirety of the place, though he immediately stopped and put his hand back on his knee when he almost knocked over one of the old vases. Making sure it didn't fall as it wobbled, he slipped his fingers into the tips of his gloves, feeling a small but cold draft come into the room. The walls really needed to get fixed up better.
Good, and it was fun to tell my Mine something he did not know. Aidoth replied, almost snickering. Speaking of Mines, is yours always so shy? The Blue asked, looking at the mentioned Ri curiously.

Ri watched him, slightly wary and slightly nervous, but trying not to seem too much of so. It would not help her any and if she appeared so it might be noted and then she'd be pressed for answers. She didn't like getting pressed for answers and questions about her past. That was part of the reason gloves nearly always adorned her hands. They were still there right now, though she did take them off when she gave Vhenoth the occasional eyeridge scratch. Vhenoth stood stationary behind her, wings tucked down so as not to scrape them in the halls or knock anything over.
You're doing well, Vhenoth said.
"Alright... Ri's fine," she commented. She liked that. She rather liked her nickname.
She watched his broad gesture and almost smiled. It was a shadow of a smile, barely there on her features and was gone almost as quickly as it had set in. And it probably only had to do with his near knocking over the vase and the quick cover.
"I like it... quiet and private... away from problems... and I have Vhenoth," Ri said, choosing her words carefully, and keeping her quiet tones.
My Mine, Ri'nnamine. She's always shy like this, particularly around males of her kind. She doesn't mind dragons, but she is afraid, and that's what makes her act so, Vhenoth responded to Aidoth.

N'eal nodded, believing himself to be sharing the same thoughts as Ri. "Quiet, huh? Yeah, a little peace every now and then is nice." He chuckled a little than, or at least, it seemed like he chuckled, for the action was rare from him. "That Hatching was something though. The other Brown Weyrling got injured, two dragons didn't Impress," he frowned a tiny bit at that, remembering seeing the two lonesome eggs on the Sands before continuing, "There was that Feral, and I even Impressed Aidoth." He gave the Blue a wry smile, who merely crooned a bit back. Blinking, he suddenly realized that his words had been painfully close to rambling. An immediate blush darkened his pale features, and he almost looked like a girl as his head dipped. Blame it on the quantity of estrogen filled females he had lived with.
"A-uh, um, sorry about that. Got kind of carried away with remembering stuff, you know, since I had to right it all down and didn't want to miss anything. Then I have to rewri-oh...." N'eal trailed off, realizing it was happening once more. Wait, rewrite? Shards! He almost stood up from the stool than, wondering what the girl - Ariae, Mine, she was Ariae. - had done with those papers. Were they still at the Sands? Shoot.... He gnawed slightly a little bit on the bottom of his lip before looking up at Ri once more. "Would you like to sit? There's some spare seats around." He offered, shrugging as he nodded towards the various stools and such.
I think she would be frightened of Wyvrith, than. Aidoth replied, this time truly snickering when he thought of his Green sister. His Mine was calmer, at least the few times he had seen her she was, but Wyvrith.... She was a constant amusement, and thankfully far different than Shealith, who she both feared, was irritated by and disliked at many times. Not the best combination, but it wasn't truly any of his business, nor was knowing why his clutch-brother's Mine feared human males, which was why he hadn't asked. If she chose to tell, than she would.

"Peace and quiet are always good," Ri responded, her voice still quiet, shy in tone, but less stuttering. She was making small steps in the ways of improvement. She still wasn't horrendously comfortable, but then it would take anyone time to make her feel anywhere near comfortable with them. "The Hatching.... it was wonderful... interesting... I Impressed Vhenoth as well," she said in response. She looked over at the brown whose eyes whirled blue-green in pleasure. It was now his turn to croon appreciatively to his bonded. Ri put a hand on Vhenoth's hide. She had liked listening to his account of the Hatching. She'd missed most of it as she'd been one of the first to Impress and so she had been busy feeding Vhenoth and everything.
"It's okay," she said quietly. "I don't mind hearing about it... I wasn't there to see most of it." Rihanna watched quietly, he seemed to be flustered about something, or that there was something not quite set right in how it was going. Something had bothered him a bit. His offer to sit was a bit surprising. "Umm... sure, why not?" she said, and pulled a vacant seat out to sit on it.
Yes, perhaps. I do not know exactly all of the things that do upset or scare my Ri'nnamine. Just male humans. And if something brushes against her while sleeping, Vhenoth responded.

"A good question." N'eal replied, giving Ri his customary slight smile. Sucking on his bottom lip momentarily, he suddenly turned and gently grabbed the red necklace which had been on the table. Turning back so he faced the older Weyrling, he laid the accessory in his hands. The necklace itself was completely red, made of deceivingly light stones that shone feebly under the coating of dust he kept on them, since he didn't know if it was some sort of protection or not. The rocks had a thin but just as deceivingly strong leather cord strung through small and only slightly roughened holes at the narrower top of them.
"Why do you think this necklace is red? One is either silver or gray and black, some are green, and another's brown. Personally, I think it's relative to dragon colors." N'eal asked her, frowning slightly. "But what makes me curious is the silver and red. I know that that Fael who hatched is black, and so maybe silver just went well with the color. But the red?" He shook his head, fingers playing with one of the stones. Realizing he was slouching, the boy straightened up a bit, promising himself once more that he would break the habit. It was a promise he had been making for the past eight Turns.
Really? Aidoth said, the tip of his tail flicking a bit when it encountered more dust than he liked. N'ealmine does not really fear the opposite gender of his kind, but whenever he sees one that he thinks is pretty, he stutters. A small thread of amusement laced his words, but once again, it was only a light tease.

Rianna nodded in response, watching the BlueWeyrling as he reached to pick something up. Upon seeing the necklace she was holding, and the fact that it did look quite old and dusty, she wondered what he could possibly mean to do with it and why he was bringing it to her attention. Perhaps he needed some help with something to do with it? Menial labor... She wasn't sure but she was sure she'd find out in but a few moments if he decided he should tell her. The necklace itself seemed a bit... odd to her, at least.
"Hmm...," she said, listening to his explanation and looking over the necklace he held carefully as if trying to unlock some hidden clue about it. Her blue eyes flowed over the necklace slowly, as if trying to take in a hidden detail. To no avail. The necklace seemed to be exactly that... a necklace. "Well, if you think it has to do with dragon colors, perhaps its a color that has... disappeared from existence. Went extinct when dragons went feral many, many Turns ago," she said quietly, offering her suggestions in slightly timid tones. "Then I could be speaking nonsense at the same time as logic," she added, putting down the idea.
Very different, your bonded and mine in that case. I have a feeling she could get over it... but there's a cloud in her past looming over. She seems to be fine talking to Yours though, after a bit of rough patch, Vhenoth responded. He was still near enough Ri that should she need him he was there.

N'eal nodded, brows raising slightly however when Ri said to disregard her idea. "No, no, I think that's an excellent idea. Probably the closest to the truth. The thing is...." He paused, turning around and carefully setting the necklace back down before picking up the faded piece of parchment he had been reading, not the one he had in fact been writing. "I've been looking at things like these for days now, even before the Hatching," his voice warmed a bit at the mention of the spectacular event, "And it starts to mention some strange colors Hatching. But then it fades away, or the word is scribbled, or something is wrong with it."
A bit exasperated with the fact he couldn't figure out what the red would mean, N'eal put down the piece of paper a bit rougher than he had intended, holding back a curse when a corner tore off, for he was in the presence of a young woman. Besides, he didn't usually curse. At least, he hadn't at his Hold. But when L'uen had guided him about for two days, it became a habit, especially with such a role model. Certainly not the best, but he did learn to speak up a little more, even if it was only that; a little.
"I've asked Aidoth, and he doesn't seem to recall anything about red dragons. It could just be because they only recently Hatched, or-or maybe...." He trailed off a bit and looked at the paper once more, and then compared it to another. "These, these are only a few Turns about. Well, not a few, but only about a half century or so, maybe less. So the mutant dragons couldn't have been around too long. And maybe, in what caused the extinction of non-Ferals killed them as well, so the memory of them is limited...." N'eal grinned before realizing that there was another person in the room, and not only that, one he hardly knew and seemed a bit skittish. "Um, uh, sorry." He coughed a bit nervously, looking sideways in embarrassment. Shards!
Mine is a tiny bit nervous talking to her, but he is now interested in artifacts of history, so it does not bother him as much. Aidoth replied, giving N'eal a considering look that the Weyrling completely missed, engrossed in furiously studying the wall at the moment. His Mine was so . . . fun at times.

"I'm glad you think so. Other people would have told me to get my head out of the clouds," she said quietly in response. She was talking. That was a good thing. Now if only that talking would continue. Which seemed very likely it would at this moment in time. She didn't really have much of a choice unless she wanted to be extremely rude... He didn't seem all that bad either. "Perhaps they died out and the Weyr of the past tried to strike records of them? Or they were the first to go Feral and then died out? Or just simple aging. There are many possibilities to what could have happened," she responded. They sounded like good enough reasons to her. Maybe he would like them as well. Who knew?
Ri watched him, a slight bit of interest betrayed in her eyes. He seemed exasperated by this. He'd dragged her into it as well. Now that spark of curiosity in all humans had been triggered by this conundrum. Whether or not he liked it, she would be trying to help him figure this out. It sounded like a very interesting thing in deed and she wanted to know the answer. Which meant she would have to get along with him, and give him at least an ounce or so of trust for a while. Maybe he'd prove he was worthy of trust.
Rianna nodded. "Strange...." she responded simply, mulling it over in her head. What about you Vhenoth? Do you remember anything about red dragons? she asked the brown. No, I do not, Ri'nnamine. Red dragons are not a dragon I know, I'm sorry, Rianna sighed. Alright Vhenoth, she responded. "And its alright," she responded, smiling slightly as well.
I see. He seems to have roped Ri'nnamine into it as well. She is not so nervous, though still there is a way to go, the brown responded.

Vaguely surprised by Ri's words about how her head was in the clouds, N'eal didn't reply but continued to listen, leaning forward slightly with his elbows on his knees. He pondered and mentally weighed her suggestions for a little then, what seemed hours to him but probably ended up in half a minute at most. "Those theories," he said slowly, looking almost curiously at a boot print he had left in the dust on the ground, "Could be very true, and are logical." He knew that too, and one or more of them were most likely right, but still, it'd be far more exciting if they, well, were exciting too.
The Weyrling said just that then, looking up at the older girl. "Don't you think so? I mean, I know the more," he floundered for a moment, searching for a word, "Casual reasons probably work, but this place, this place is practically legend!" He almost threw up his hands then, and while they did leave the air right in front of his knees for a second, they returned there after a moment. N'eal opened his mouth again, about to speak some more before realizing he had nothing more to say. Surprised, he closed it again, instead waiting for an answer with a small smile that looked simply adorable in his childish face. At least, his mother would have said so.
Aidoth seemed to nod, giving a brief bob of his wedge head even though he wasn't directly facing his clutch-brother. My Mine has not even realized she is interested. And if he has, he hasn't quite realized it yet. Right now he's just conversing, questioner to questioner, peer to peer.

Ri sighed, waiting for some kind of answer. He seemed inclined enough to listen to her, inclined enough to talk and listen to the theories. She didn't mind talking to him. He seemed very nice, very kind... And he didn't seem to be the kind of guy who would suddenly change and attack her or something... Which was a good thing because she really did not want for that to happen. No one could attack you, Ri'nnamine. Not while your Vhenoth is around, the brown dragonet commented. Ri couldn't help but smile at this. I'm glad to know that, she said in response, her mental tones warm. "Yes, I suppose they could be. But we may never really know where the truth lies in them. I suppose its all.... speculation," she said with a wistful sigh releasing the last word in the phrase. "And forgive me. I tend to ramble... I don't talk to people very often anymore... but Vhenoth's trying to get me too... oh dear, I'm doing it again," she said, her voice going on with the words, her mind jittery from even the start of another babbling session.
Ri sighed... take a moment to clear the rattled and restless thoughts in her mind. She could be such an idiot when her mind started to rush, which is what it had done. She blew out a breath, bangs lifting from her forehead slightly as she did so. She looked over briefly at the brown dragonet who was looking on her with whirling eyes. She smiled slightly, a weak smile at the moment. "It really is a legend. In both the present and the past. Right now we are the sole Weyr. Dragons who are not feral only exist here... like Vhenoth and... Aidoth," she completed after Vhenoth informed her of the name. "In any case it would be a very interesting thing to find out," she said. Ri watched him, smiling slightly. She couldn't find anything else to say, nor was there anything she really wanted to... She was mostly relying on responding to what he said to her. But it seemed to be going well... She may actually have a friend who was human.
I suppose that's well enough. He will figure it out in due time, I suppose. And if not than someone will have to point him in the direction of finding it out. Either way he will learn she is interested. Vhenoth stated to his clutchbrother.
