This is a general information thread about things that can be found in the RP, that are used in the RP, or general habbits of the people in Astu Obscurum.

General Look of Astu Obscurum:

• Astu Obscurum is build up in three levels, a ground level, first and second level. The spaces between these levels are huge, but as you go down further, sunlight has a hard time to reach the ground floor.
• The level system mirrors a pyramid. The poor live on the ground level, the hard working and middle class in the first level, and the rich and famous in the second level.
• Large gaps and spaces, big half orbs of glass are placed on the second level to let more light filter through to the first level. The more you come onto the edges of the first level, the more natural light you will have. But it is not like it is ever dark during the day in the first level.

Traveling around Astu Obscurum:

By Train:

There are two types of trains found in Astu Obscurum. Mostly on the first and second layer. There are the normal trains, which bring people from their living area to their working area, to school, to the shopping streets etc.

Although they are not the normal trains that we know, they are 'magnetic' trains. High speed trains which bring people fast from A to B. Image one and Image two are an example of how these trains look.

Another type of train are 'shaft trains'. These trains, instead of traveling horizontal, they travel vertical. These trains are kind off egg shaped, oval like. 12 people fit in one of these egg shaped compartement. Basically the train consist of multiple compartments, mostly so long a few hundred people can go into one 'shaft train.' When stepping in or out, the trains are on a normal platform. But once they start moving, they go into an upward curve, and so go vertical up to the second layer, or go down to the first layer. The ticket system works like the general 'metro/tube/underground' system.


By Car

Cars are pretty much the same as we know them. Although more advanced and more futuristic looking. There are different brands and types of cars.

Roads are plenty in the city, and are well maintained on the first and second level. The U1 is the main freeway, which conects the ground level with the first level and the first level with the second level. The U1 ground level basically leads to outside the city, and does not actually go through the old city. When wanting to go into the first level with your car (so coming from the ground level), you have to pay toll and there are passport controls. There are also passport controls from the first to second level.
