Well originally my set up was as follows
CAI Kooks 1 3/4 LT's Kooks 3 in catless mids Mufflex 2.5 in cat back Cartek Tune Car Dyno'd 317 hp & 329 tq Numbers seemed pretty low to me and unlike most shops I know Julio doesnt boost numbers. Julio said my IAT's were very high with the air box set up I had. I ordered about 2 months ago a Svede intake and finally got it after waiting 2 months and Walt did a great job cutting the radiator and fitting it in. Fits real nice and looks much better than the box set up. Took the car back to Cartek today and Julio re dynoed it. Dynoed 335hp & 341 tq. Big improvement I think over the old set up. Car was tuned by the same person, same dyno on two different days equal in tempature. Only changes was an 02 extension was replaced. Big thanks to Walt for the install and Julio for taking the time to get my car right, can't wait to run it tomorrow night. Heres a pic Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand) ![]() |

It'll be in the 12's in the better weather but for the blazing heat we've had I'm hoping to be around 13.0-13.15 tommarow night. |

Very nice results, I was hoping that you'd see maybe 8-10rwhp out of that cold air intake swap, but this certainly exceeded all expectations/hopes.
That's exactly what I'm thinking, although that full tank of gas you have right now might make that a bit more challenging. Definitely some solid 12s in it in 4-5 months though. |

Stevie the car feels quicker to me than the dyno#s expecially from a little roll. Guess who may want one now After speaking with Julio he really liked the unit alot |

I'm sure it does But still, it's ALWAYS nice to have even more if we can so this Svede was a good move for Stevie. Keep in mind that I went 11.8s and 113+mph with that exact same horsepower (but even less torque) in my Z28, though my car is lighter as well of course. That's enough power to have a lot of fun with. Not sure if you'll benefit as much from it Bruce but it might be worth a shot. But if you're going to do it I would get the basic/standard black one as it's cheaper and will also be MUCH easier to re-sell (ie: a guy with a yellow or blue GTO might not want a silver Svede intake etc.) if it happens to not work out on your car. |

Marc, you also had a nice torque converter to get that fast. Makes such a difference, but with commuting to college not sure if its really an option

I agree. Your car should be quite fast as it is right now and yet still very reliable/daily drivable. Did you run last night and if so, how did it go (I know it would've been only ONE pass LOL)? |

Good numbers Stevie.
I have had the Svede on for a long time now (actually on my 2nd one right now) - the unit relly shines on the track after launch as the air builds up in the front grill. Your IAT's drop like a stone once the car is moving. You know that hump up on the top of the unit to help the air to straighten out more - that was my idea. I told Jerry he had more room to work with & clayed it up for him a few years ago. Before that they were flat going into the outlet for the MAF wrecked havoc on the air flow.. Congrats Steve |

Nice number what kind of dyno was it? It sounds like it was a mustang style. I am new to this site coming out of NY. Hope to see you around.

HapNyNy...Welcome to the site! Yes Rush hour Nice Job on some of the R&D bud...Now I think I will take advantage of this. Julio from Cartek really liked the unit alot and said the svede is everything the varam isnt he liked tuning Stevies car with it. I Just ordered 1 through Mr Wrench, I will be getting the unpainted version. I'm not expecting miricles ,because what I have is damn good also, but hey if I can get 8 rwp or 1 mph I would be happy even though the cost is alot. I will be selling the Catek Air asault Intake from my car this fall. For Probobly 1/2 the cost of the svede if anyone is interested Rushhour I will try to call you today,Need to talk to ya about next weekend |
