All discussion about our prospect draft should take place here. Best place to applaud or trash someone's pick(s) or their own!

Does Minny know they're on the clock?

Yes I told him. He's probably watching Brazil vs Chile.

Quite the finish in that one.

Bob McKenzie:

"With Montreal on the clock at 5th overall and Aaron Ekblad still on the board, I'm hearing teams are inquiring on the price to see if they can move up to grab the best defenceman and most NHL-ready player in this draft."

Don't like seeing someone get jumped in the top 10 picks of a draft, but rules are rules. Technically speaking Montreal has a few hours left to pick before Anaheim ends up on the clock due to the 12 hour rule.

Normally we make special arrangements if a team goes on the clock after 10PM or something, but considering the last pick was made in the early afternoon and MTL has been on since then, this is different.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that and Montreal gets on and picks in the next couple of hours!

It's all ok. Last year, the draft was only about 2 and a half weeks. If we get in 5 picks a day, it will only be about 3 weeks.

From Bob McKenzie on Twitter:

"Word around the Jets table is they are listening to offers from teams looking to move up to 7. #NHLDraft14"

I don't know if this is a first time in our league but after that last deal I made, I own none of my original 2014 picks...all traded away!

I don't know about anyone else but this has been an interesting draft so far and I am stoked about our new GMs. There has been a lot of trading going on (27 trades since the beginning of May). This is a far cry from where the league was during last season. I hope it keeps up throughout the year. This was my top 10 prospects going in on my board:

1. Sam Bennett
2. Leon Draisaitl
3. Sam Reinhart
4. Michael Dal Colle
5. William Nylander
6. Nikolaj Ehlers
7. Kevin Fiala
8. Nick Ritchie
9. Jake Virtanen
10. Brendan Perlini

All these guys were taken in the top 11 picks so it looks as though most people had pretty much the same top guys. I honestly thought Nylander was going to be gone before #7. When Anaheim surprised me by taking Virtanen (still a great pick), that's when I had to try and get that #7 pick. Glad everyone is doing their homework! Nothing makes for a better draft than a bunch of guys who know what they are doing!
