Great pick by Georg, I would've taken Rinne at that same spot too.

I figured Rinne would be the first pick. I'd have taken him if I had the first pick so I was surprised Ovechkin went first. I have my eye on 5 or 6 guys so I know I'm going to get someone I want when it gets to my pick. No need to give up a lot to get one guy. I figure I'll get at least 3 players to help my team out and take that next baby step.

Had Ovechkin pegged for 1st overall and Rinne pegged at 2nd. Didn't have Plekanec at 3rd though.

This. Although not personally. I really don't have a need for any goalie at this point in time, so although Rinne is definitely a starter, I probably would have strongly considered taking someone else over him. Definitely a good pick if that's what your team needs though.

If I had Quick, Thomas and Fleury in goal I would go for a FW too!
But a goalie like Rinne at this point is the best what can happen wink.gif

Pleks on 3rd confused me little.

BTW Guys Im looking to get an extra 1st round pick so give me offers please!

We have a trade!

Once it's approved, Boston will be on the clock.

The Avs have dropped down to 10th overall in the draft now.

Looks like CBJ approved this trade, so I will select now as I assume I am good to go

Spezza would have been my guy at 3, let alone 4.

Good pick.

Thanks.

He's expensive this season, but the next 2 he becomes a great bargain. And seeing as he's only 29 is a huge bonus.

In trade discussions with a few GMs at the moment and the outcome of those discussion will largely determine who I select with the 5th pick.

Just wondering how Toronto is picking ahead of me in the 2nd round if they had the 3rd overall pick? Am I missing something? Did we have a lottery and it just affected the first round? Sorry I was gone for a while so I probably missed a thread as I was trying to get back up to date

Yeah Toronto won the lottery so they moved up to 3rd for the first round only.

Interesting to see how the rest of the 1st round falls.

For me, I think there was a clear top 2 in this draft, then another platform of 7-8 guys.

I am happy to be trading down to 10th, ensuring I get one of my guys.
