Hello, My name is Chris, I am currently going to MVCC and was looking to find some 40k Players in the area. I run a small club of players in the Uitca area that meets the first Saturday of every month. We are always looking for new members to play / paint with.

I am going to try to get everyone in our club to show up for this event, I hope we will not be the only ones attending wink.gif

Please post something if you plan on playing!

Hello! We look forward to seeing you. I know some players from Play the Game are coming down and I think one of my good friends is going to be playing too. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Well three of the six of us will be on time. Two will show up a 2:30ish just to hang out, and the last guy can't make it.

How many players do you know live in the general area?

Well maybe they would like to join our Paint and Play, I was running it because some of out members have the same problem. It starts the first Saturday in April. Here are the rules:

quoted from our club E-mail, note the dates have changed, and if we can get a few more players we will have a third prize and a keg at the party!

QUOTE

In an effort to get people to finish the armies they are working on I think we should start a friendly paint and play league.  I set it up as a 250pt increment, I think that everyone should be able to handle that.  I was also thinking that we could throw in $5 a week, 1st place can get a battleforce and codex, 2nd place also gets a battleforce, and we can throw a pizza and wings party in their honour.  Because I don't know everyone's financial status, if anyone does not feel that they can afford 250pts of models and $5 a month please let me know, and I will come up with something else to do next month. (you will remain anonymous)

Please let me know what you think.

RULES

WARHAMMER 40k (5th Edition) PAINT AND PLAY LEAGUE
This league focuses on growing an army gradually and ensuring it is completely painted. Players start with small, expeditionary forces that will over time grow into a full-fledged army. This allows everyone to paint their army while playing league games with their painted pieces.
How the league works: Each League player starts with a small painted 40k army at the beginning of the league. Players will use a challenge system to play 'league' games. Challenges cannot be refused, although you may never play the same person more than once a month. League Victory Points are earned / lost. Every ensuing month, each player will add a set number of points of painted models to his army. This continues until everyone has a completely painted 2000 point 40k army. Unpainted and unbased models are not allowed — period.
The following guidelines for army choice: Pick any 40k army you would like to build. Ideally, players should start from scratch. If you've started an army, but not played it much, that's okay.
Games and League Victory Points (LVP): Players may play as many battles as desired during a given month, however, only three battles per month per player will count towards LVPs. Players must decide beforehand whether a game is for fun or for LVPs.

Players receive LVPs based on the following scale:
Win: 3
Draw: 2
Loss: 1

LVPs outside of Battles:
· At the beginning of each month, players will vote for the best-painted addition to an army (they may not vote for their own). The owner will receive a bonus 3 LVPs to be added to his total. No player can win this award more than 3 times.
· Any player may spend 1 LVP to restructure a specific unit (reduce size, remove wargear/ dedicated transport/weapons/psychic powers, etc). Only 2 LVP per month may be spent this way.
· A player may spend 3 LVP to remove a character (not the HQ Commander) or a unit completely. A second unit/character removed costs 6 LVP, a third 9 LVP. This resets each month.
· The player with the lowest Monthly LVP from the previous month may drop one unit for free.
LVPs gained or lost in these categories go into Overall rankings but not Monthly.

Rankings:
LVPs are kept in two categories: Monthly and Overall. Overall LVP are kept over the course of the league. In the end, the player with the most Overall LVP is the winner.
A monthly ranking of LVP is also kept, but is only used for a free army modification (see above).
The First Month—Recon Patrol: The first month, League players will build 500 point armies using the following restrictions:
No model may have more than two wounds, no model may have a 2+ or better armor save, no vehicle may have better than 33 points total armor (Front+Side+Rear values), no Special Characters may be taken, no Ordnance weapons may be taken.
First month games will be played on a 4'x4' table. After the first month, players are free from these restrictions.
Second and Successive Months: Players must take their 500 pt armies and increase them to 750 points; each successive month after they will add 250 more points (see chart below). All armies must meet minimum and maximum limits for a Standard Force Organization listed in the chart below.
NOTE: Particular armies with special composition requirements that would force a change to the comp table will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Every month players will play three standard 40k battles (one each of the three standard objective scenarios, but players will randomly determine deployment zones). Above 1500 points the league organizer may drop the number of games to two if time becomes an issue.
At each 250 block addition, players may:
· Buy new units of any type allowed (per the chart below)
· Increase unit size (ex. five marines to 10 marines)
· Add unit / vehicle upgrades / wargear / psychic powers / dedicated transports / heavy weapons / etc.
· Remove basic character upgrades to upgrade with wargear/improved weapons/etc. (dropping a standard pistol in favor of a plasma pistol or master-crafted weapon, for example)
At each 250 block addition, players may not:
· Remove units or reduce unit size
· Remove wargear, psychic powers or special skills / characteristics (Exarch or Daemonic powers, etc) (although paid-for items can be moved between characters)
· Remove vehicles or mounts
