1. The most important rule is to enjoy yourself and to have fun. In order for us all to have fun on this site the rules are essential. Anarchy is best left within the roleplays, so please continue on and make sure that you understand and are willing to follow all rules before joining.

2. Read the plot. The plot here on Night World is the very thing that is Night World. If you don't read it and you jump right in you won't understand the roleplays and we won't understand you. In order to prevent confusion and/or getting yourself suspended or, at worst, removed from the site read the plot before you do anything else.

3. Literacy counts! If I can't understand a word you're saying, you're not being literate. I expect to see a minimal amount of spelling and gramatical errors. Absolutely NO smilies or chatspeak in roleplay posts EVER. Please, no asterisks in roleplaying posts to signify your actions. Full sentences, punctuation, good spelling and so on are all expected in roleplay posts. In out of character posts you don't have to be literate, but it is preferable. Typos are expected, but not every other word.

4. Keep the content PG-13 or less. If you want a mature roleplay to be opened contact me or another admin and we'll consider it. I don't mind excessive gore and I will accept most of that as PG-13, but be considerate to the other roleplayers with this. If you're roleplaying with other blood and guts fans go right ahead, but if the others around aren't posting much on the guts spilling and throat slashing be smart and try to keep it to a minimum.

5. NO SEXUAL BEHAVIOR WILL BE ACCEPTED!!! Kissing is fine, but elaborating on how wonderful it felt when your partner shoved his/her tongue down your throat is going to far. No pregnancies in the middle of a roleplay. If I have to explain this rule any further I will be very upset. If you wish to have any adult content in a mature roleplay I expect a good reason or twelve on why I should let you.

6. No power playing or God moding without explicit permission from an admin and the other roleplayers your playing with.

7. No killing (or turning) of characters without permission. If both sides agree an admin must recieve comfirmation from both parties that they are okay with the act.

8. No healing without permission from the character's player. This may remain between the two roleplayers, but the admin may be contacted if you feel the need.

9. Profanity is to be used carefully. Yes, you may curse, but not every other word or sentence in every post. People find this annoying and offensive. If your character swears heavily be careful how you word things. Say 'he swore a number of times at everyone in the room' rather than saying 'Sh**, f***, you as****es killed my f***ing brother!" Tact is the key here. On mature boards cursing is allowed to fly freely, but unless you're on a mature board I expect you to use your brains.

10. Wait until an admin aproves your character before posting in the roleplay boards. The OOC boards are available at all times.

11. When roleplaying use some form of mark that shows what is OOC and what is BIC. (, [, OOC:, etc. are all acceptable.

12. Similar to death, major injuries must be discussed before being dealt, unless it is the victim that says the wound is dealt. However, like healing this can be spoken of just between the characters. Minor scratches and bruises can be dealt on a regular basis.

13. No homosexuality. Ever. This is one of my biggest pet peeves, so there will be no forgiveness on this point.

14. Inactivity for prolonged periods of time (months most often) without explanation beforehand will get your membership terminated. You may rejoin after this, but I expect an explanation for the absence before you begin to roleplay again.

15. Whereas I don't mind characters insulting other characters, if I see users insulting, threatening, or doing anything of the sort to other users you will not enjoy the punishment. This is unacceptable behavior and it will be treated as such.

16. No perfect characters. I don't think I should have to expand on this subject.

I expect these rules to be followed or consequences will be enforced. On the first offense you will receive a warning, the second another warning, the third you will be suspended for a week and on the fourth offense will get you removed from the site.

Okay, now that I'm done with that remember the first rule. Enjoy yourself, but follow the rules while doing so. I want to have fun here just as much as you, after all, and having to constantly punish people ruins it for me. Don't worry, I'm actually very nice. Have fun and we'll all get along.
