Same game I'm playing on a Firefly forum:

Try to link Nicki to the actor in the question through IMDB. Maximum of 6 movies and TV appearances. Writers and directors are also allowed.

Of course, you're not supposed to use any scripts for this, that spoils the whole nature of the game, but alright, here goes (exampling for Joss Whedon)

1) Joss wrote "Serenity", starring Jewel Staite.
2) Nicki made a guest appearance in "Dead Like Me", as does Jewel.

I'm still wondering whether to count different episodes, that would make it a little too easy. Same person, different route:

1) Joss wrote "Serenity", starring Jewel.
2) Jewel guest starred in "Stargate: Atlantis", alongside David Hewlett.
3) David starred in "Cube" alongside Nicolle DeBoer.
4) Nicolle starred "The Dead Zone" in which Nicki had a guest appearance.

Here's an easy one to start with:

William Shatner

Man, thats too easy!

William Shatner is in Generations, which is written by RDM.
RDM writes/produces BSG.
Nicki is in BSG.

A bit more obscure...

Jeff Goldblum

Dude, now that is too easy…

1) Being a scifi fan I happen to know that Jeff Goldblum was in Independence Day with Mary McDonnell (as the First Lady no less.)
2) I believe Mary McDonnell was in a little show called Battlestar Galactica with our very own Nicki.

(I could have got there in 2 links with Jeff and Eddie Olmos Inside The Playboy Mansion, but that's a bit of a cheat as the world and his wife were in that sucker. ohmy.gif )

Now here’s a diffy...
Chuck Norris to Nicki Clyne in 6 steps or less. Impossible!!!

I'm a browncoat, so I'm used to doing the impossible:

1) Chuck alongside Dan Kern in "The President's Man".
2) Dan in Star Trek: Voyager, which was also written bij RDM.
3) RDM wrote Galactica, with our very own Nicki.

Ha! In half the clicks!

See if you can tackle this one:

Point, I guess there was a shorter way...

I would have added to links through Will Smith in I, Robot, which had Aaron Douglas, who stars on BSG with Nicki. I completely forgot Mary was First Lady.

Priceless, Stoney3k!

It turns out that Samuli Torssonen has only been in a fan-made Finnish (!?!) sci-fi parody which looks totally awesome (TRAILER). Almost everybody in it only made that one film. All the special effects are stolen from Star Trek and Babylon 5. And I’m not linking via the Enterprise Model that would be cheating.

Here goes…

1) Samuli Torssonen is only in Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning with well known actor/actress (?) Kari Väänänen.

2) As you know Kari Väänänen is in Honey Baby with Henry Thomas (the kid from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial).

3) Henry Thomas has just made Vinyl with cutie Michelle Trachtenberg.

4) Michelle Trachtenberg starred in the classic Euro Trip with Lucy “Warrior Princess” Lawless.

5) Lucy “Warrior Princess” Lawless is also a Cylon on a little show called Battlestar Galactica with our very own Nicki Clyne.

Voila! 5 jumps. clap.gif

Is there a better way? I tried to make a quick jump from ET to BSG but failed. Plus I liked going via Euro Trip (see link above.)

Next up: Clara Bow biggrin.gif

Ah, no replies. I think perhaps I went too far with the 1920's Goddess, Clara Bow. wacko.gif

But in my defense I managed to connect her to Nicki in 6 jumps, via Star Wars and Bladerunner. So it is do-able. tongue.gif

Plus Nicki has a sort of 'Clara Bow' thing going on.

Woot! I got it! I soo got it! Thanks for the hints Nibbler! I haven't seen half these movies though, aside from Blade Runner and Star Wars. I also now I have a new found respect for Google, wikipedia, and IMDB, as well as a growing interest in film history. wink.gif

So without further ado, here's the answer!

1) One of Clara Bow's big movies back in the day was a movie called Wings, which featured the actor Gary Cooper.

2) Cooper was in The Naked Edge with my man Peter Cushing.

3) Cushing, as well all should know is Grand Moff Tarkin, the best Imperial to grace the silver screen, second only to Emperor Palpatine himself and maybe Admiral Motti, in Star Wars. Of course, Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, blew up his Death Star.

4) Ford plays Rick Deckard in Blade Runner (best science fiction film ever!) who hunts down Replicants with the origami folding Gaff played by Edward James Olmos.

5) Olmos, who really likes to fight robots, plays the kickass Admiral Adama in Battlestar Galactica, which features Nicki, who keeps his planes in the air.

biggrin.gif

Okay how about this one...

James Woods

Congrats ViperTech five jumps and Hey Presto, you got to the little lady mentioned in my new favourite BSG quote:
"Starbuck: Reilly was a good stick. A little short on guts, but a good stick.
Duck: Beano had plenty. Took Cally an hour to clean them out his cockpit." blink.gif

You cracked the hardest 'Six Degrees Of' ever, and with with a Degree to spare.

Kudos and (6-5) = One muffin.gif , plus four bonus muffins muffin.gifmuffin.gifmuffin.gifmuffin.gif for going via Grand Moff, Solo&Deckard and Creepy Guy Gaff. Five muffin.gif then, bringing you to a total of nine muffin.gif to date.

(It's a muffin.gif for each jump under the max, plus a bonus muffin.gif per classic scifi/fantasy character mentioned. I got a +3er for 'The kid from ET', Xena WP and 'she who will only ever be little Miss Summers' in one chain.)

Next up Jimmy Woods. Hmmm. I haven't really thought this one through yet, but I wager you one of my eight muffin.gif 's that I can do it in four jumps and catch a bonus muffin en route. biggrin.gif

Let me think.........

Caught that, Sneaky. But you were quick enough.

I'm hitting the sack now as it's midnight here in Blighty, but I'll check in tomorrow and see if anyone else has cracked the Jimmy conundrum and stole 'the muffins of glory'.

You're welcome Viper you earned them. thumbsup.gif

Lurk all you like Sol. thumbsup.gif

So he's where we are at: James Woods scratchchin.gif

Make up to six TV/Movie connections from Nicki Clyne to James Woods, plus mention cool scifi/fantasy characters en route to earn bonus muffins. muffin.gif

It's open to all (expect Viper, of course) if you are quick.

We can do this the hard way, or we can do this the funny way.

I'd vote for the second (filling the full six as we go!)

1) James Woods doing "Stuart Little 2" alongside the star of that animation, Michael J. Fox.
2) Fox, who we all know from his famous "Blues riff in B, try to follow me on the progressions!" on all three "Back To The Future" movies, alongside Lea Thompson, who played Lorraine McFly (his mother), while being the same age.
3) Thompson did an episode of Friends ("The One With The Baby on the Bus") with JAG star Catherine Bell.
4) Bell did a guest apperance on a great show that's already been cancelled, Threshold, alongside Brent Spiner.
5) Brent, as we all know, does Mr. Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was written by...
6) And RDM did a great show called Battlestar Galactica with a cute hangar deck technician played by Nicki!

Woohoo! All six full for the first time AND squeeze in three of my favorite shows and movies!

See if you can crack this one:
