"Now where did those damn tickets go....." Dick said through gritted teeth as he tossed every inch of his room. He had purchased 2 tickets with his last paycheck from his day job as a cop, for a romantic 2 week cruise with Babs to the Caribbean where they would be able to spend time away from the stressful life of superhero work and be able to enjoy each other's company...but one thing stood in their way....the tickets. If he couldn't find them, there was no way they could go, and he would have to explain that he had 'accidentally' misplaced the tickets that costed almost an entire paycheck, ruining a perfect opportunity to spend with his girlfriend.
Barbara was waiting at the harbor for him, and as the clock ticked away, the frustration began to grow. Finally, after trashing his entire room, and nearly half of his apartment, he had found them...sitting on top of the TV stand. Grabbing the keys, and rushing out the door, he payed little heed to cleaning up the mess that he had caused. His suitcase had already been packed the night before, and thrown in the back of his car. Jumping over the door and into his seat, Dick quickly fumbled through his keys, until they were in, and the car had started. The car's engine roared to life, as the gear was jammed into reverse, and his had backed out of his spot, nearly hitting an oncoming car, missing it by mere inches. The wheels screelling, Dick was off, tailed by a cloud of smoke, as he zigzagged in and out of traffic.
The drive, shortened by his rather reckless driving, had allowed him to reach the harbor just in time to check in. As he pulled in, he could see Barbara waiting from the port, a rather irritated look on her face. Clearly she was mad that he almost made them miss the cruise, but she was the least of his worries. Jumping out of the side of his car, and locking it up, he jogged over to the check-in line with luggage in both hands. "Just in time, your ship is just about to take off...." the man said in the booth. A sigh of relief escaped his throat as he saw barbara coming up to him, as the two made their way to the boat.
Hours later, the boat had taken off, and Gotham was no longer even visible from the distance. Dick and Barbara had checked into a mid-sized room with a queen size bed, and Dick was just waking up from a nap. He had been running all night from his night job as nightwing, when he had gotten home and realized that the clock was ticking down and he had to get the tickets and run. Exhausted from running all day, he had decided to rest for the first few hours of the cruise. It had seemed that Barbara had the same thing in mind, as the two had fallen asleep curled up next to each other.
The night would start out with a fancy dinner in the starlit night, followed by a night of dancing.
