[Wonder Woman]

Embassy of Themyscira

It had been a full day at the Embassy and she was just going to have one final meeting, before she could focus on her family. Diana kissed and hugged her sister Donna, on the Embassy gardens has she was teleported back to Europe, by the young mega, Magik.

Walking back inside the building, Diana went to her office, where she already found her son, Conner, waiting for her. He had been absent for weeks, due to the fact that he was a member of SHIELD covert ops team, The Last Resort. But Conner, being her son, also had the diplomatic immunity that all her family members had. Diana loved to taunt him, by addressing to him by his royal rank.

"Prince Conner, don't you give your mother a hug?" Diana playfully taunted him and opened her arms to the young man."Jon and Jor are missing you....I know that you are busy with LR duties, but I'm not letting you get away from our family dinner tonight. I've talked with Bruce and Fury and they don't want to see me pissed with them. After all, I do miss my eldest son." She hugged Conner tightly as she really missed him.

But Conner was there not only in family business. He was also the liaison between the Embassy and SHIELD. Diana knew that Conner like herself wasn't very fond of politics but the World was entering the Third World War and they would have to play their part not only as heroes, but also has diplomats.

"Did the intelligence information that the Amazons gathered, been helpful for your team, my sweet?" Diana took a seat in front of Conner."It is no secret that I have my clashes with Fury and even Bruce distanced himself a bit from me, and yes they can be your team leaders and maybe I should be having this conversation with them, but you are my son and royal prince of Themyscira, and this is Themyscirian matters of State." Diana looked to Conner eyes and smiled nurturing, while she waited for his answers.

Conner never considered himself special until Diana of Themyscira married his adoptive father and genetic donor Clark Kent and because of this Conner was now a prince of an isolated island of Amazons. The last few years put a strain on Conner being a member of the Protectorate when the Supreme Lords were in charge he did so much that once again he began to question what it was he really wanted. What he decided was he wanted to let his parents retire from hero duties and resume his own. Nick Fury and Bruce let him join the Last Resort black ops team.

Now he was at the embassy waiting for Diana he was still a serious young man despite being freed from his duties as a member of the Protectorate but he couldn't be happy and there was no explanation for why. Maybe this time off from SHIELD would be what he needs. He hugged Diana as he greeted her.

"Yes it did. The operation had a few bumps but it's run by stanch military men who think they know everything. Bruce and Fury need to know where military training ends and where instinct begins. What worries me not as a member of Last Resort but as a member of our government is what Doom is planning."

Diana crossed her leg over the other as she made herself more comfortable on her chair. She smiled to Conner words about Bruce and Fury."You should know by now, that to Bruce Wayne, training and duty never ends. Even when he is in his civil persona, Bruce is always on alert. I remember a few dinner dates we had before we realized that we would always just be friends, that it was quite stressful to notice how he was always paying attention to other things." The Amazon princess said with a bit of nostalgia. The Supreme Lords, did made a rift among many of them. She almost divorced Clark and her friendship with Bruce had also been shaken.

"Victor already took his stance, that Latveria will stand by Kahndaq side in the war...it has become pretty obvious that a few things will never change. History is repeating itself, but this time, the war dragged super-beings into it. I'm afraid that not even the Oracles are being able to see how this war will end." Diana felt a shiver through her spine when she said her words. This war was like all wars a immense stupidity.

"So beside your work with those two grunt's, how's live treating you? Any new girlfriend, that I should meet?" Diana knew that things between Conner and Cassie were over, but Conner was a handsome young man, with a body to die for and more importantly, his heart was gold. A catch,

Conner nodded at the grim predictions of his adopted step-mother. Conner didn't really believe in that Amazonian mysticism but Clark had a crystal palace with his long dead father in it so Conner didn't really have room to judge. "I just hope this planet doesn't end up like Krypton did after they are finished. The Kryptonian Wars were brutal from what I remember Clark telling me especially if Brainiac was created as a result."

Conner rolled his eyes as she suggest a new girlfriend. Things between him and Cassie ended up badly even worse when he and she ended up on opposite sides when he joined the Protectorate and he had to fight her. "No I haven't. Not much time for romance when I'm on an on call black ops team. And that your ex is an Amazon. Not many women on this planet who are not Amazons can match that."

Diana had heard from Clark about the Kryptonian Wars and unfortunately she had to agree with Conner. They were truly in the brick of such thing happening on Earth. Adam had the power of God's himself and his allies were powerful and deadly. Any of them, alone had threatened the planet in more then one way.

"We will try to prevent that to happen here on Earth, but if the peace negotiations do fail, we have to prepare to war."

While Conner spoke about Cassie, she was able to hear in his voice that he still had feelings for Wonder Girl. Diana then went to her desk and took some papers. She gave them to Conner."If anything happens to me and Clark, you and Donna, become the legal guardians of the twins. Donna already signed. We need you to sign them too...don't worry I don't plan to die, but Clark and I decided to have all possible outcomes arranged." Her face was serious, but with a soft smile.

"I am fully aware of how unique Cassie is, but there are more women out there that are unique too. Just give time to your heart to heal...then again, you and Cassie can always have a serious conversation too. And who knows what can come of it?"

Diana kept her eyes on Conner, who had the documents in his hand and was looking rather serious at her.

Conner sighed. He couldn't deny what she was saying was true Adam is powered by the Egyptian version of the same gods that power Billy Batson what Conner wouldn't give to have him around right now. "Adam is strong but he is not invincible gods or no he can be beaten problem is that it requires a serious amount of magic. I mean god level magic to beat him. Maybe if Thor got his old man off his throne we might have a shot."

Conner looked over the papers but it filled him with dread that Diana and even Clark were considering this. "I have one question though. Why? You and Clark are retired. Wonder Woman and Superman are done with hero action if I'm not mistaken. Why this sudden fascination with both of you dying? If its because of Doom and Adam then this piece of paper isn't stopping them from taking me and Donna out too. Especially with the both of us being on the front line we're likely to die before the both of you."

Conner loved those kids being their uncle and all but his words had merit. Conner was part of a black ops team his life expectancy on a high risk mission was low even if he was Kryptonian. Donna had her team as well the only ones who can protect them is her and Clark.

Conner didn't wait for her to speak as he signed the paper. "If it gives you and Clark piece of mind then fine but there aren't any guarantees in war. As for me and Cassie? That ship has sailed pardon the pun. We were forced to fight each other during my time with the Protectorate. That is a serious obstacle to overcome. I'm talking years of superhero couples therapy its the giant elephant in the room. Besides I willingly fought I can forgive myself but her forgiving me? I'd rather fight Doom and Adam blindfolded than have the conversation."

Conner words were the same as Donna's. Yes it was truth, both of them were on teams that were working in the front of any battle with Teth Adam and his cohorts. And unfortunately, like with Donna, she was going to be forced up to open something, that she and Clark were planning.

"Clark and I are only supposedly to be retired...that will allow us to work as "hidden aces" in this war. And we are not the only two...there are other heroes going to do what we are doing." Diana said as she pressed her fingers over her lips for a while."That is why, I'm asking you to sign those...the chance of not returning from this on mine and Clark side are a bit bigger then you or Donna."

Diana then gave Conner a small silvered pen."I'm giving you the same pen-driver I gave Donna, so you guys may understand why, we ask you to become the twins legal guardians if something happens. You are their older brother and Donna their aunt...also, not that we trust Kara and Karen, but you two have the most connection with the twins."

The phone rang and Diana made a gesture with her hand asking Conner to give her a minute. She talked with her secretary and smiled. After she hung up, she looked to Conner and smiled. "The cook is going to make your favorite dish for the dinner. She says that is so rare to have you here that she wants to make you a treat...and also the twins have arrived, so prepare yourself to be knocked to the floor once they enter through those doors."

Jor and Jon voices could be heard on the other side of the doors as someone seemed to try in vain to calm them down. Like predicted, both twins entered their mother office like a twister and the moment they let out a very loud "Con" and ran towards their big brother.

"Kon are you staying for dinner?" asked Jon, while at same time Jor asked another thing."Will you stay over for the night? Will you read us a story when he go to bed?" Diana smiled as it was nice to see the twins with Conner. She gave a nod to Conner as she placed the pen-driver and the documents on her desk, that had fallen from Conner hands, when the twins jumped over him. It was pretty obvious that their serious conversation was going to wait now.
