smile.gif Hi everyone,
My husband is a narcoleptic and that's why I'm here. He's suffered with this illness for years, but only recently have we really tried to be proactive about getting help for him, including finding out more about narcolepsy.

My husband actually suffers from narcolepsy with cataplexy, sleep apnea, & hallucinations. When I say "suffers," I mean that literally.

After an incident last March, I decided to become my husband's advocate of sorts. I started participating in his doctor's visits, chronicling the different side effects of his medication, and a few weeks ago I even started a blog.

Anyway, I'm trying out a few forums to see where I stick.

Happy to meet all of you & I hope the best for all of us!

My Blog

Ah I'm sooo sorry, when I looked at this a few days ago I got hooked reading your blog and never responded! I also sent it to my girlfriend and I think she has found it to be a valuable resource, I'm so glad to hear you are supportive of your husband despite his struggles and the seeming duality of how he has to live life. I feel very fortunate myself that my girlfriend is so willing to work with me through my struggles with narcolepsy. The world needs more people like you and her, willing to learn and understand and help those of us who simply don't have the energy at times to help ourselves.

Thank you smile.gif

Thanks so much for the welcome Topher!
I appreciate the kind words and you're so right - we do need more people to understand that more than anything, people with narcolepsy need support, love, patience, hugs...! I haven't always understood that, so I really hope my blog helps someone - anyone - including me to be more understanding.
Great site!
I'm enjoying reading all the past posts - some interesting stuff here...
Hugs! biggrin.gif

p.s. Your g'friend rocks!
