Perhaps a positive boost for the gay scene in London, Colm Howard Lloyd, a director of Pride London, has called for greater encouragement from travel companies, for gay customers who may be looking to travel to the UK for the famous festival. This is definitely an indication that the gay community in general, is expanding, as London becomes the place to be for all that is camp. He has claimed that ‘travel agents and tour operators should show their support, rather than simply exploiting the pink pound’. Howard Lloyd also goes on to say ‘We know how valuable the pink pound is and we are really cynical about anyone taking advantage of it, furthermore that’s why the organizations that actively work with the gay community in general are the ones we trust’.
