Los Angeles (AP) - It's finally done. The Los Angeles Clippers, led by General Manager and Coach MikeNY711, have developed a devastating front court by pairing the two-time MVP with franchise player Elton Brand.

The trade caused large controversy at first, however. The trade committee gave three straight vetoes. It was the first trade to be rejected, so it was even more surprising that nobody approved.

"I was really angry, because both teams liked what they got, and both helped out their plans for the now and the future. The Spurs are rebuilding, and we're trying to win now," MikeNY711 said when he first heard about the rejection.

His proposal to review the trade more closely didn't help. It was only after the Clippers added up and coming point guard Shaun Livingston to the table that the deal could be passed by the league, much to Mike's distaste. The trade committee seemed wrong at first after the Spurs went near undefeated while the Clippers barely hung on to .500, since all members said Los Angeles ripped San Antonio off. Instead, it was the opposite. But after the second sim, Los Angeles was just ahead of them.

The Big Fundamental was shocked to learn that he was traded after being so successful as the face of the Spurs, but has embraced it as a new chapter in his flourishing career.

The Spurs' success is largely due to Tim Duncan, whose team player role allows for great team chemistry.

"I have to admit I was very surprised. But Los Angeles is a great place and it'll be fun playing with Elton," he said.

The four-time champion was moved for Al Thornton, Sean May, Shaun Livingston, and two first round draft choices. The Spurs motive to the trade was because they were rebuilding so the first rounders suited them. Plus, due to two cutbacks in the trade they also received around $13 million worth of expiring contracts. Meanwhile the Clippers finally have a great Big 3 when Corey Maggette returns midway through Sim 7 after fracturing his arm.

New Lineup:
C: Tim Duncan (25.4 PPG, 11.3 RPG, 2.2 BPG)
PF: Elton Brand (22.6 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 2.0 BPG)
SF: Corey Maggette (18.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 0.8 SPG)
SG: Sam Cassell (11.7 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.0 SPG)
PG: Brevin Knight (12.2 PPG, 7.5 APG, 1.6 SPG)

"I am very excited about getting to play with Duncan, man," said Los Angeles Star Elton Brand. "I think MikeNY711 is putting us in the right direction."

It's hard to tell what's to come for this team based on the last two sims with Maggette out. Ruben Patterson isn't the greatest Small Forward and third scoring option. They've had their horrible games, losing to teams like Seattle, but have shown glimpses of something special, most notably the recent victory over the Phoenix Suns.

"Man, I just got my cast off, and I'm itching to play. You better watch out for us when I get on the court," bragged the 18 PPG swing man.

The scary thing is, "Mags" is right. The team has played very poorly without him, going from the 3rd seed to now 1 game over 500. Now, with TD and pass-first point guard Brevin Knight, only good things can be expected from the team who finished just short of both 500 (1 game) and the 8th seed (2). Clinging on to the 8th seed now with a winning record, they are looking for post season security.

"Lemme tell ya, it was hard sitting there at the end of April. We were so close, it coulda been us upsetting the Mavs that first round. Us. But I think this year we won't be that just-missed team," vet Sam Cassell answered when asked to compare this year's playoffs situation with the last.

After 13 seasons, he has yet to win a title.
With 4-time champ Tim Duncan around, maybe he'll finally get one.

The Clippers are on the right track, and fans are as happy as ever. They won't forget to watch them - especially in late April.
