What does everyone use to de-worm their rabbits? What is found to be the best and what doesn't work? What would you say is the most important things to have around your rabbitry? What ointments or cure alls? Just thought it would be good to know what others use and think are important to have around in case of sick rabbits. God bless

I noticed what appeared to be a round worm coming out of one of my bucks rearend. I'm going to TSC and get some of the Piperazine for worms because i read that its treats better than ivomec and I'm planning to do the whole herd as its about that time again. I've never used this stuff and i see it has alot of side effects on the drug calculator for rabbits. anybody every noticed any side effects such as diarrhea? I know with the ivomec nothing has ever happened.

Again i made the mistake of buying hay from the same farm that gave my herd mites. I've always treated once a year for worms just as a precaution, this is the first time i've ever actually seen a worm coming out of a rabbit. This may also explain the odd grubs that are appearing in the trays. I wonder if it could also be linked to the birthing and breeding issues we've been having over the last 3 months :o scary :nervous

Theres no way worms can come from pellets is there?

Fat grubs in the trays are probably fly maggots. The worms that come from the rabbits are (usually) pinworms, tiny hair-like white things.

I was told that the dingleballs hanging by threads from floor wire are actually hanging by worms. I always thought it was hair. So maybe both.

I saw no side effects from piperazine.
