I added another breed to my rabbitry. Here is what I have so far...

Broken Blue Tort Sr Buck-- 2 legs- 1 BOB-------- He only poses by himself.. It is kind of funny. You cant fix him up or nothing but his children are beautiful and take after him... I love his head and his body.. Just a great rabbit.... I cant wait to show him..

Now when I breed holland lops I can basically bred any color together right with lots of no nos.... But like siamese smoke pearl and tort, tort to tort, black to tort, blue to tort, sable point to tort.....

I am getting some does now also this weekend and am hopeing to find like a sable point or a broken sable point... Or a broken blue or black.. A black or blue tort in solid or broken...

Pretty bunny!

I'm afraid I don't know a whole lot about HL. I do know the competition is fierce, more so than ND, so be prepared for that. You should join a forum devoted to them.

As far as color breeding, from what I've seen almost anything goes. Tort is the most common and competitive variety, and almost all HL carry tort. You are probably pretty safe with any shaded, self, or tort. Just don't mix in the tan pattern or agouti genes.

That is right. If you are looking to compete very well to start off, I would stay away from the "color" holland lops. These are far less competitive against the Torts and sometimes blacks....

Like Dennie Said DO NOT breed Otter or Agouti into your torts.. You can Get lots of Torted Otters/ Fox and these are not showable.

To keep good color follow basic color breeding rules. This should keep you safe on litter colors.

It is funny that you should get a Holland Lop because I picked up one this weekend at a show... ;) He's produced some fuzzies and I am working with a hybrid Holland Fuzzy program to make my own fuzzy Lop line.

Good Luck!

And that is exactly why I bought him and the fact he is competetive that will help me also.. Winning breed and the broken variety with the open rabbits.. I probably wont get as competeive with this breed anyways.. Nothing like with my dwarfs.. I am going to get a doe or 2 this weekend and am going to make a wise choice for something worth breeding and showing but trying to make it a proven doe...

Your welcome Cole! That is a much much better picture of him and I can tell now more on his body. Looks nice! I'd Just fault him on being a tiney bit slow on those shoulders to round off, but still very nice!
