Hey all,

I really hope this is like riding a bike. If it all comes back to me easily it would be great, but knowing my luck...I won't remember enough to say spit...LOL  The litter is a cross between Blue Diamond's Celtic Lord and Blaine's 812 a.k.a "Tin Lizzy" or as she is known round here..Lizzy. I tried an initial time about 4 or so days after I got them back from their only show since getting them from Elaine Lewis. It was a no go that time. But being the tough ol' cookie I know she is I threw Lizzy right back into it and tried again. With her pulling fur and working the nesting box I am thinking I might have a shot this time. Now just have to hope for no wire drop's, baby eating or other maladies that could befall me.

For those of you out there interested in color. Lizzy is a gorgeous girl of a Chin. and Celtic Lord is a pretty boy Silver Martin. I am hoping for a good little show quality buck. But of course I am more than willing to take ANY and all little show bunnies she wants to throw my way! :D

I will keep you all in the loop as things progress.

Welcome back to the wonderful world of ND's. :wtg
I'm new to this and having a wonderful time with a great group of people.
Since you're looking for a Buck out of that breeding, I'd be more than happy to give a home to a Doe that you wanted to move along.
Chin is spectacular.
Best of luck, keep us posted.

Ok...update time folks.

Well Lizzy had 3 healthy kits either very early this morning or quite late last evening. I promise I will get the ol' camera out and take a couple shots for you all to see. Besides, maybe someone can give me an assist and let me know whether or not I am looking at future Martin's or Chins. I would to have said I would know the difference, but I THINK they are going to be chins. I ran the Rabbit Registar programs genetic mixer with both of their pedigrees and it came out pretty much Chin and very little possibility of a Silver Martin. Of course I am willing to have either in my up and coming rabbitry so...Hooray for Lizzy!!!

And then there were two. :bye One of the litter did not make it. Not a max-factor or peanut. Didn't fade...just died. Oh well sometimes things just happen. Unless my guess is wrong I think I have a Silver Martin and a Chin in the box. One is decidedly still black and the other is getting a little lighter in color. I just hope both of these last two come through with no problems. photos coming when they start acting more like bunnies...LOL!

Sorry to hear of your loss, that means the remaining 2 will be wonderful show stoppers. :wtg

Hopefully this next round for me will produce a Chin to have in the ring with you.
Enjoy those babies, they'll soon be out of the box.

Alrighty folks,

Here are some new shots of them. Color is not up in the air anymore...unless my name was Ray Charles or something...LOL. In a month or so I will post new shots...but til then this is what they are coming along looking like. I love the curiousness that they display now that their eyes are open. LOL

Hoping for some of my own next week.

Hi,

Sorry it has taken me a little while to get to you folks. I have been busy I got deployed out on some IT work that required 2 hours of commuting a day so my days were FULL! :lol Thanks for all the well wishes on them. I have yet to come up with names...I know, I know I really should be naming them rather than just calling them "kids." Names by the end of next week, I promise...LOL!

To those asking and commenting on the photos. I have been shooting on basically a pro level of photography for about 5 years. I am getting rid of most of my gear though...can't have too many hobbies!!! I have shots up on Flickr, just search the name Omega Imagez and you will find my profile. Those asking what I was shooting with, I currently have a Canon 5D Digital SLR camera. I was using a 50mm f 1.4 Lens in front of the camera body for these shots. The first shots were with a Sigma 18-80mm "dime a dozen lens."

Yes I really like the coloring on them and I hope the chin continues to have the same proportions on its head until show time! :evil

-Joshua

p.s. If anyone ever has questions photography related feel free to shoot me a message or something. I may only be getting back into rabbits, but I am very well schooled on photos and photography.
