Here's the newest edition to the family.. She's a 22 month old timneh african grey parrot. Loves Bret to death already, of course being a girl, she doesn't like me much unless i have food or toys. Hopefully after a few weeks of being stuck in the house with me every day she'll get to like me and stop trying to bite. I'm hoping since i'll be the one that spends the most time with her, she'll break that nasty habit of not liking females. So far she's showing excellent vocabulary skills to be so young. It should be quite fun teaching her new things. :D
She's awesome!
I had a few parakeets when I was younger, but every time they got out of the cage they would fly too fast and hit the walls. I think it made them a little slow, so all they could say was pretty bird.
Congrats. I had a Congo Grey for so many years, it was like a divorce when we had to split up. These parrots are too intelligent for their own good.

I'm starting to see that already. Bella is a little trickster. She pretends to like me and tilts her head down to get scratched. Then when i reach out to give her love she snaps up at lightning speed and trys to rip my finger off. she makes me nervous. When she's out of the cage she just watches me. I'm scared that i'll turn my back and she'll attack me.
She's such good entertainment though, we sat here for like 6 hours last night listening to her and laughing our heads off.
LOL, when you go to walk out the room she shoots at you like a toy gun. She'll do it when youre holding her too except she taps you with her beak when she does it. Then she rings like a phone, does the answering machine beep, leaves herself a message (usually hello Bella, goodbye) and then she beeps to stop the message. Its the funniest thing.
She can also make the sound like a smoke alarm with dying batteries. Has perfect timing between the chirps too. Then she whistles that little song they play at football games and stuff, where the horn sounds off and then everyone yells Charge! And when she eats, shes grab a bite and says ummmm. And she waves with her foot on command.
She's just too cool to stay mad at for biting. :P
yeah, birds are way cooler than people most of the time.
